Fairly comprehensive and thoughtful. Way too much time spent umming and saying the same thing over and over. Also, forgot to mention that like the Logitech Dinovo Mini, there are no function keys!
I'm presuming it uses USB. If so, the keyboard my be compatible ... but doubt the feature buttons and trackball do much. All i want is a remote keyboard that doesn't attach to the controller ... Looks good
You can use it for click and drag, but it is very tricky indeed. But the main issue i have with it is that its useless with no light on, and I really need that for you hometheater.
@himerius2007 one of the best arguments out there. not to mention the beast is black. all computer accessories tend to be blacks. and the letters of the keys are not even phosphorescent...
The one i have actually has a ctrl alt del key on it. I think its great but the issue with buttons sometimes not working is bothersome. I can't tell if it just needs new batteries or wireless issues since pretty much everything runs at 2.4 ghz these days.
Can I ask if this keyboard can operate with USB cable to be always full power. I am asking beacause I am looking for a tiny wired keyboard for a special home project I am into.
Nice review! I ordered one of these for $29.99 + tax, free shipping. Hopefully it will be less cumbersome than the wired keyboard and mouse I'm now using with my tv pc.
excellent review. Thanks for the info, I used the coupon code for $30 off that's on right now (8/20/10) USPCAG36336 Also I found a backlighting mod which is absolutely halarious

@doomtomb3 the rii mini lks good as it has a backlight on it and is very affordable. if u need something more practical for everday use check out the one from io gear too.
@Jr4594 it really depends on what you want. If you just want a keyboard soley to use for a home theater pc environment (meaning no heavy typing, chatting, etc) then I would look into the Rii mini. I like this keyboard as its tiny, affordable and has backlight on it. Im planning on getting one but torn over another choice of the IO Gear multimedia keyboard. This is closer to a full sized keyboard that you can use not only for media center applications but also for everyday practical use as well.
@chrisbellevue ive decided on the rii just because it looks more like an actual remote, and reviews show the trackpad isnt that bad, thanks for the response though
I just got this the SLASH KEY. SLASH KEY looks like /, can't seem to make it work. I push the shift key simultaneously but it doesn't work. Any idea how to make that work or did I get a defect from Lenovo?
@TrueNovice If the slash you're trying to use is orange you have to press and hold the orange Fn key near the bottom left of the keyboard with the orange slash to activate it. If its the normal white colored slash you have to hold the Shift key to activate it. If it doesnt work you may have a defective item.
@TJae1 It should work on ps3 with no problem as it uses standard plug and play drivers. I tested it on my wii when playing Monster Hunter Tri and it works fine.
@TJae1 In my personal experience Ive only used the diNove Edge. I cant comment on the mini since Ive never used it but it is priced a lot higher over the dinovo. Check out some of the other user videos of the mini so you can have some ideas of how it handles.
@philcanatsey I don't have a PS3 but from researching many forums on the subject. the PS3 supports wireless usb/bluetooth mouse/keyboards. However very few games support mouse/keyboard. However outside of that, anything else such as web browsing, accessing the menu, etc will work fine.
@paulchan260864 I dont think there an option for the F keys with this keyboard. Thats is something that I failed to mention with this keyboard. So I guess if you needed to use F8 to boot the windows startup menu you wont be able to do so.
@mrdave2176 I know what you're saying but the keyboard in relation to the standard "F" keys doesn't work like that. You can't simply press the Fn key with a number because each number key has its own set of Fn actions in orange. Another user mentioned trying to do a button press for F8 to get the Windows Advanced startup menu but was unsuccessful. I tried doing this myself and I couldn't get it to work. If you have this keyboard and know correct button combo that works let us know.

Thanx for the review. My biggest problem is that there is no scroll. Would have been perfect on the back with your index finger. Scroll is the only way to "seek" forward and back in XBMC.
XBMC w/navi-x plugin is my primary HTPC app. Ive never used the scroll/seek option when using it. I would just click on the time and find the point I needed, but you do make a valid point.
just ordered mine. will see how it works tomorrow :)

@tomee7 no, just a standard optical trackball. No integrated button click function for the trackball.

wow. you can double it up as a "personal" protection device by throwing it your jockstrap. Damn ugly peice of software and not very ergonomic at all.
