Even back then, he said, the black peope couldn't believe the black man survived to the end of the movie.

@sblove99 People make movies to make money, right? Then it makes perfect sense that, in a predominately white country, white characters are going to be the hero and make it to the end without dying. It's all about appealing to the majority, in order to make as much money as possible. I'm sure if you watched a film made in, say, Nigeria, any token white characters would be killed early on.

I found this movie to be unrealistic... the fact is that this movie would've had a a far better impact if the characters were switched around! have Samuel be the good guy with a " white lady" and have the pretty boy white actor be the white racist guy next door with the kids trying to be open and liberal. NOW! that would be reality. I think this movie just wanted to make the white man be the good guy. ><
