  • CLACK CLACK BOOM CLACK! Sifu Gary is the best!

  • neat! but what the heck is a dragon pole?

  • AWesome accuracy!

  • nice training.

  • Sweet! I've been wondering about the Pole and why it exists within the system.

  • to help with internal energy.

kinda like tai chi with a pole

  • Now there's a great explaination. Thanks!

  • Then theres the history of it, when the system was developing, its people had to carry weapons hidden in plain sight. I believe this is based on the boat pole. That was an inocent looking man on a boat is actually a trained assassin. cool huh?

  • @holygroove2 leung yee tai traded pole form with wong wo bah for the handset. from what i have learned.

  • boss

  • dont rip that guy off at a game of pool !

  • That looks fun

  • Hey, this is one of the coolest pole training vids i've seen - definitely the coolest in the wing chun circles.

  • interesting

  • so a dragon poll is basically a bo staff but is used in a different technique? (i dont no thats y i asking?)

  • its about 9 feet long and weighs maybe 10-15 Ibs, its used to train internal energy

  • And has a Narly Head ! Sweet

  • I believe this is Gary Lam's place in Southern California.

  • Great videos. I just started working with the Lok Dim Boon Gwan, some exercises. It's like 9 ft. long and gets heavy! Sifu Chan tells us it's very good for strengthening your punches, jum sau, and overall strength/speed. Thanks for the great training exercises - I'll have to set up some of that too. When you're used to that heavy pole, just think how FAST you can attack with a normal spear, pool cue, or broomstick.

  • thing about dragon pole is no were not gonna walk around with it or anything but u take a 10 year si lum tao student's punch ya it'll be strong but a one year pole student punch will be stronger cause of the movement it teaches internally

  • where is this school looks fun

  • Timing, speed and accuracy! What precious tools. This clip is fantastic. If only we all took pole training this seriously. Where did you learn this? Looks like Wong Shun Leung's family

  • great guys!! and a great training area!! (I've been there) Rahsun.

  • If the pole is heavy it's great for building strength. It would be funny to see someone walking down the street with a dragon pole "Oh I'm just going to the office" lol

  • ha, my si gung said the same thing. a man had actually walked down to the tea house to challenge yip man carrying a pole. they looked at him like he was mad. beside pole makes one sound!!

  • People actually don't care. I'm walking down the street and subway station with a bag of poles/spear every weekend hardly anyone notices.

  • Perfect!! absolutely great demo of how the pole techniques are meant to be used ,.. all wing chun practitionaers look at the fine details in the movements. Thanks for the clip, its great

  • didn't realize till recently that dragon pole training is the way to develop coordinated power...for hitting.

  • Great. I think Gary Lam's way of teaching is one of the best. His students always are in good shape and move with skill.

  • Great Lok Dim Boon Kwan, im hoping to learn it soon from my teacher.
