@MrLance1337 you are the only one I agree with, 500,600,700 gallons is not going to do it and if it is the owner of the shark/s better have a good place and plan to bring them to a local city aquarium exhibit once they get over four feet. I think there should be a law that requires anyone how purchases such a shark should have a permit, you would hope that this ensure the shark/s are going to a home that is suitable and that when the shark grows out of the tank the shark isn't tossed.
i went to a pet store with tons of fish including sharks O.o and i saw hole bunch of tiny tiny shrips they was small u could crush them with ur dum--(finger)
Poor things =(. They look like leopard sharks which are harmless. They get around 6 feet long and need a tank in excess of 500 gallons, or a swimming pool. Which not many people can afford for a pet, so they normally live short lives in tanks that are way too small. Its an animal that should be banned from the aquarium trade except under special license. Since it really can only be housed properly in zoos.
Agreed. Well said. The only exception I'd have is if they were smaller Freshwater sharks, like Bala Sharks, Red-tailed sharks, Pictus Catfish, Irredescent Sharks etc.
@GroinStabbingPro gallons do not dictate tank dimensions. But yes in hind sight it probably will need something larger then 500gal. For such an animal you really need a tank with length and width, height is not as big a factor. A lot of tanks add useless gallons via extra hight of tank. Which is why large stingray keepers usually make custom plywood tanks just lined with a pond liner. Its not that you can't probably buy a tank with enough gallons, its just none of them give the ideal demensions
I wouldn't want to own a juvenile shark in anything less than my pool. Which is roughly 30,000 gallons

@mikaila31 6 foot animal in a 500 gallon tank? My 200 gallon is only 6x2 feet. Going to need a bigger tank then that.
