This is a great review.. thank you for convincing me what to get. i just found one britax for $160 off original price. send me a message if you want to know where i am going to get mine.
just got this stroller a great deal!! 250$ with bottom seat and the carseat (britax chaperon) of course used but in great (awsome) condition..i can say i love it so far ..im only using it with the top seat as my baby is yet to be born ..i have a 2 1/2 year old about 35lbs..i can say it is heavy! to pick up but not to Maneuver ..i love the fact the i can use it as a single and a double ....cant wait to use it with my new born also ....good luck to all !
I must say I can't believe all the Baby Jogger City Select knockoffs I've seen!!! I just purchased my 2012 Baby Jogger City Select and worth every penny!!!
1. 45 lb each chair = total 90 lbs weight capacity
2. Bigger "No flat" rubber tires.... very smooth ride.
3. Quick release/engage rear brake system
4. Can fit in my Mazda 626 with tires on & room to spare!!!
5. There are 16 different seating combinations. Also bought the attachment so my baby can eat at the dinner table in Baby Jog
Trying to decide on a stroller... Britax B-Ready, Baby Jogger City Select, or Phil and Teds Explorer. I have tall kiddos. Which one do you recommend and why?
I need help with picking the right double stroller for a 4 year old @ 34 lbs, and a newborn.
My 4 year old has Spina Bifida, a condition that prevents him from walking for very long and with leg braces. So you see I need one of the seats to have a higher weight capacity so it will last us a few more pounds on him.
Any suggestions? I thought this b-ready might work, but I'm worried about the weight limit.
Hi, I'm wondering how this stroller compares to the City Select? Which one is better? My wife is pregnant of triplets and i want to buy 2 strollers (1 single and 1 double). I was wondering if the BJCS car seat adaptor is easy to use as the B-ready with the chaperone car seat. On the other hand the good thing about the BJCS is that it has 2 big seat and the B-ready a small one in the back so when the children grow up i will have to buy another stroller. I'm right?
hello! I loved your video, thanks for the demonstration.
I just received my silver b ready stroller and chaperone carseat, but it seams that the carseat is slightly different in color with the stroller seat. Is that normal? Both are grey but not the same kind of grey. I can´t see teh difference in the stroller and carseat used in the video. Please let me know. thanks
Do you think you guys could make a video of you pushing 2 kids in this stroller? im worried about hitting the bottom seat with my legs! thank you it would mean alot :)
@eykhong the straps are very short...too short for a big three year old, a winter coat, and a jj cole bundle me footmuff...kind of a pain...but winter is basically over here.
@BabyGizmoCompany Thank you so much for replying, I think I'll go with the black and then I can get the black and white cow print chaperone carseat! Ive been looking at this one and baby jogger city select and I really like britax stuff so I might have to go with this one. Thanks again=)
Great review!!! Im looking to get this stroller for the future when I will have a newborn and almost 3 year old and I dont care for the car seat being on the lower seat Im just wondering if I have the car seat on the top and my son on the bottom Im concerned he will be too big cause hes 15 months and 25 lbs now. I like having the carseat with the newborn on top I think cause it just seemed to low on the bottom. What do you think? Im going between this stroller, babyjogger city select,& city mini
I am speechless. What an amazing stroller. I only know of its greatness because of this wonderfully thorough and visual video. You are talented. Thanks for the effort ot make this video perfect.
Do you know if Britax makes a car seat adapter that fits a peg perego car seat? I have the prima viaggio car seat and I was wondering if that would work with this stroller.
I am trying to decide between the Britax b-ready and the Phil & Teds explorer. I have a newborn and a 2.5 yr old and live in a city where I have to walk a lot and there are also high curbs and some cobblestone streets. I am wondering if one of them handles going up curbs better than another. I borrowed an older model of a friend's P&T sport and couldn't push down hard enough to get it to "pop a wheelie" and go up a high curb. What is your experience with the two?
@BabyDashiel You are totally right! You wouldn't typically have a 5 year old in a stroller. We show a 5 year old in the stroller for size only. We want to show the stroller with a child near the weight and height capacity so that those parents with very large kids will know if they will fit. Some people have 2 and 3 year old the size of our 5 year old. So, it's just for weight and height purposes only. Thanks for the question.
@BabyGizmoCompany PHEW! I had thought you were recommending 5year olds to be in strollers. Love all your reviews! Although I must admit I'm even more confused after seeing the pros and cons of the market leaders. It would be so much easier if there was just 5 to choose from!
I know it might not be possible for you to say but is there a stroller that has been head and shoulders above the rest? One that you really had to look hard to find any flaws?
I need help with picking the right double stroller for a 4 year old @ 34 lbs, and a newborn.
My 4 year old has Spina Bifida, a condition that prevents him from walking for very long and with leg braces. So you see I need one of the seats to have a higher weight capacity so it will last us a few more pounds on him.
Any suggestions? I thought this b-ready might work, but I'm worried about the weight limit.
@msthngg you probably could use this stroller for your needs. the top seat has a 55lbs weight limit, and the back seat reclines fairly flat, or you could get the lower carseat adaptor, too.
I just bought this stroller a couple days ago, and I have my 33lb 2yr old in the back and my 4month old in the top seat facing me, and everyone seems to be happy thus far.
A few more questions Hollie. In the video you say that the lower seat can be used for a newborn. To clarify, it is flat enough to put a newborn down there in the added toddler seat if I recline it all the way? Do your shins hit the seat when it's reclined all the way or does the seat sort-of slip into the basket a bit when it's flat.
After comparing your videos for the City Select and the new Phil & Teds Explorer this is by far the best for our needs - your videos rock!
@amazpadz Yep, the lower seat can be reclined flat for a newborn. Completely flat. I am 5'5 - so my shins do not hit the second seat even if it is reclined flat. And yes, the second seat kind of slips into the basket. My taller mama friends do have to be conscious that their arms are extended from the handlebar to keep their bodies a bit farther from the stroller to prevent their shins from hitting the second seat in the reclined position with their long strides. Make sense?
This is a head-to-head with the Baby Jogger City Select. Both are great but I just bought the City Select. Holly's review sold me on it. B-ready is more compact but the BJ has option of one or both children facing mom. Also basket access is better with two kids on-board, and second seat is a full-size seat like the first. The B-ready accommodates a new-born better though, but you can always get the car-seat adapter for the Select as well. Plus I think the Select is marginally lighter. Same $.
Hi, do you know if you can use a Chicco Keyfit 30 on the lower position? I know there is a universal car seat adapter but I don't know if it's limited to the upper position. Thanks.
@mikeflizzo I don't think the universal car seat adapter is available yet for the lower position. Last time I checked, Britax was still in the process of testing different infant carriers that would work in that lower position.
@BabyGizmoCompany Thanks for your reply. I just called Britax USA and talked to a representative. She explained that for this to work, we would need to purchase the lower infant car seat adapter and then connect the universal car seat adapter (the same one you use for the upper position) to it. Does this sound right based on what you've heard?
Here in Australia, we have the Steelcraft Strider Plus, Steelcraft being a sub-company of Britax. The Strider Plus is very similar to the B-Ready, however we can't attach a capsule down the bottom. The only complaint here about the Strider Plus that I've heard about is the width. Did you have a problem with that?
Hi there, I'm wondering in your opinion, how this stroller compares to the City Select? I'm thinking about purchasing it, but having second thoughts now with this one coming out. I will have a 2 year old and a newborn. Is this one easier to maneuver because of the 4-point suspension? Does it seem more compact? Thanks so much for your videos, they are super helpful!
@SophiesMamma The City Select and the B-Ready are very similar in the way that they convert from a single to a double. I like the wheels on the City Select better. The B-Ready does seem more compact when pushing it though. Maybe that is because the second seat on the B-Ready is lower and in the basket. The City Select just seems longer. I think they both maneuver well. Since the B-Ready seems shorter in doubles mode, I think it is tad easier to turn though.
I was wondering how you think this stroller would handle winter conditions. I am thinking of getting this stroller for my 2 y/o and new baby due end of Nov. We live in the north and have snow on a regular basis. My concern is that the baby in the 2nd seat might get slush and stuff thrown on them in parking lots and thinks like that I am not going to use it for long walks or anything just running around with two
@taviethsmommy The second seat is really low. I guess there is a possiblity of the lower baby getting splashed if there is tons of winter slush or people walking very close to the stroller. The rear wheels have wheel guards, so I don't think the stroller wheels would splash the lower rider though.
How does this compare to the City Select that you reviewed? I have a babe on the way in Nov and my toddler will be appx 2.5 and he is tall, I'm afraid he won't fit in that second seat if I have a car seat on the top - don't like the idea of the car seat on the bottom. This one seems like it's easier to steer but I'm almost 6' tall and worry about kicking the bottom seat like the Phil & Ted's. Pros/cons of the two would be WONDERFUL. Thanks and I just love your videos!

When reading the specs on the Britax it says that it can hold 55lbs when using single seat only...what is the max weight for each seat w/ 2 children?
Thanks in advance.

@luvsangel The second (rear) seat has a weight capacity of 35 lbs.

I'm wondering two things-
1. Is there enough clearance for lets when either the lower seat is reclined or the car seat is attached (rear-facing)?
2. Is this compatible with the older Britax Companion?
Thanks so much!
