dude i'm a soundtech and he isn't doing it because of that. There could be loads of stuff wrong, the soundtech is always the first one out of the crowd who hears the mic's been cut off. Probably some douchebag who tripped over a cable backstage or so, the soundtechnician is allways in the FOH, or front of house, wich is always in front of the stage. He's just tapping he's head to joke about it...
