  • @ Zeobit

True Ancient latin you pronounce pacem like (pakem[ish])

But in Ecclesiastical Latin i.e. - Medieval times, you pronounce Pacem as pachem

  • basura -.-

  • ok, it wasn't very clear what you meant... and I know that sometimes singers don't pronounce in the right way some word... for example in the song "non c'è più" they say " non s'è più" but "c" is pronounced "Ch" also in italian, not only latin.. I heard also wrong pronounciation about other languages, I sometimes think that singers are lazy!

  • dona nobis pacem so pertty

  • Zdravo, podrzite nas banjalucki festival Kratkofil, jedan od najvecih kulturnih desavanja naseg grada, tako sto cete lajkovati njegovu facebook stranu. Hvala.

  • Can anyone tell me who actually sings / performs this English version?

  • commm onª!!!1 if you can't upload this song complete, please, don't uploading

  • I love this song and plus my choir is doing it! And in from Bosnia and Herzegovina!

  • Dream On ... of Love

or does anyone have the sheet music for this? or a link to it?

    please.

  • really nice :) give peace on earth a chance!

  • its spelled "D-O-N-N-A" :]

  • @VocaloidGuyXane No, it's not.

  • @DerOberstKrieger i was being sarcastic smart for idiots like u to reply and make me have a good laugh HAHAHAHAHAHAHA LMFAO xD

  • @VocaloidGuyXane Good comeback.

    Almost covered up your error.

  • @DerOberstKrieger ALMOST!? AHAHAHA I DDNT MAKE AN ERROR!! I WAS EING SARCASTIC AHAHAHAHAHAHA LMFAO xD!!

  • i love this song

  • Just to end this discussion: In "real" latin (the one spoken by the romans) you were supposed to hear something like [pakem], During following 2000 years latin developed differently in different parts of europe, only partially indepenent from the languages that where in use there. That's why e.g. in german - speaking countries you will hear [patsem], which fits perfect into german language (the "pa - chem" is also a common german sound, but would be written "patschem", quite impractical...

  • @Zeobit pacem is pronounced "P A CH E M"! I'M ITALIAN AND I STUDIED LATIN, AND THE SOUND "K" IN OUR LANGUAGE IS WRITTEN "CH", THE ENGLISH SOUND "K" IS ONLY WITH "CA CO AND CU", THE ENGLISH SOUND "CH" IS WITH "CE, CAE AND CI".

  • @saraepietro I know how to pronounce the italian language. I just wanted to point ount that the middle-ages brought forth several coequal ways of pronouncing latin and that all those discussions about [pazem], [pacem] or [pachem] are pointless, although [pachem] is closer to the antic diction.

  • we are singing this in chorus

  • it means give us peace--- we singin it in choir.. these girls have great potential

  • its grant us peace!!!

  • I think its pronounced differently in some places or something, but yeah, its supposed to be Pa-chem

    (:

  • no your chorus teacher probly says its pachem cuz its easier to say but the real latin way to say it sounds like patsem its hard to explain

  • Isn't the pronunciation "pa-chem" as opposed to "pa-tsem"?

  • Oh, sorry, I guess in Ecclesiastical Latin, the pronunciation, "pa-tsem" would be correct, and of course influenced by the accent of the singers based on their nationality.

  • give us peace dona nobis pacem

  • Who knows the title of the cd, is there a cd of this choir with this song? Is this available on internet or somewhere else? Who has the whole song?

  • can somebody tell me the name of this beautiful song??
