  • no touch, no comments, no disturbing my mind, no disturbing shifts from my yester memories of one of my best lifememories band.

  • corbinamondo, these guys change keys about 6 freakin times in the intro....very complex stuff to learn by ear. But, who doesn't love a challange? STYX...one of the greatest bands ever.

  • Claire De Lune is one of the first pieces of music I learned and this piece is still very precious to me because it is one that My Mother and I played just around the organ and piano at home

  • Only Dennis DeYoung can make millions appreciate classical piano, ballet, love ballad, pipe organ, and rock guitar all in the same song! Genius!

  • Only Dennis DeYoung can make millions appreciate classical piano, ballet, love ballad, pipe organ, and rock guitar all in the same song! Genius! I love him!!!

  • I have been a Styx fan since 1979 and this is the most UNDERRATED song they recorded...

  • @falcngnzx2 I agree! They made so many other fantastic songs that were never appreciated by anyone other than their die hard fans.

  • What I don't underdtand is why this song wasnt included in their sheet music book, and i cant find chords for it anywhere! Guess i'll just have to learn it by ear!

  • You have to be fucking kidding me. My favorite Impressionist song covered by my favorite band? Woo!

  • listen at 4:42...how he sings "crowded halls" it's emotional. Dennis was the better part of Styx...Tommy can kiss my @zz for firing him. :(

  • This song kicks so much ass...the piano and the guitars are neck and neck...and of course Dennis DeYoung's voice is like gravy to these ears of mine.

  • the best of the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of my top 5-10 Styx tracks of all time on my favorite album of theirs.

    Heck yes

  • thanks SOOO MUCH for this .....great song!

  • Awwwahh man, they shredded those solos!

  • thanks for giving this clip. have 21 cd's of styx. still like them

    Erwin Belgium

  • Thanks so much!

  • waffle!@

  • One of the best Styx ever did.

  • the very best DANCE FOR ME unbeliveble

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES

  • Hard-core Styx fans love this one!....

    5 Stars!...

  • ..."dance for me, I beg of you, dance for me"!

  • DeYoung's intro. to Clair De Lune on the "Music Of Styx" Cd states that this actually was his father's favorite piece of classical music- during the war, his father was stationed in Holland, staying with a family- their oldest son was a concert piano performer & he played it often for DeYoung's father.

  • (From a long-time Styx fan): this is one of my favorite albums from them, as it includes both the group's rock tracks & Dennis DeYoung's "romantisized" compositions he like to write(like 1972's "Lady"). He performs Debussy's "Clair De Lune" on his solo "Music Of Styx w/ Symphony Orchestra" CD.

  • The Clair De Lune here proves whny Dennis DeYoung's my favorite keyboard player of all time. His approach to piano, synthesizer and organ is unlike other keyboard players. I hold him in high regard with Ketih Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Tony Banks and the late Rick Wright. Those five are the greatest rock keyboard players and masters of the Hammond B3 organ, the piano and synthesizers (Emerson, Wright and Wakeman the Moog and Banks with the ARP and DeYoung with the Oberheim (though started on ARP))

  • I'm totally with ya,there on Dennis Deyoung.

Actually Dennis Deyoung has actually has has profound influence on me.

While all my friends and peers desire to be the next Guitar God.

I love to be the next Keyboard King like Dennis Deyoung.

    Cause

It's Dennis Deyoung's Keyboards that give Styx that Greek Mythical Beautiful Sound.

    Btw

Another group you must check out is Gryphon esp. their Red Queen to Gryphon Three Album.

It has sounds very similar to Styx's.

Type in the words here on youtub

  • A another guy that that plays Out-of-this-World keyboards is Dave Stewart of Egg and Hatfield and the North.

Those 2 bands are of the Canterbury Prog-art rock, actually a very underrated scene.

Here on youtube Progflea1234 has the 1st 2 Egg albums, you must check them out,

    They're soo awesome.

I've listened to both of those albums at least 3 times.

    And

I own Hatfield and the North's the Rotter's Club which is a very good album in itself.

  • Butchery.

  • Bull.

  • Peace.....love.....and......tranquility in a life that can be confusion and stress.. Take time to introspect and reflect. Then...move forward and be strong. Your life is continuing to the present into the future. Be honest with yourself, even if those around you lie, cheat and steal.

  • awesome

  • You aren't kidding. The Clair De Lune here was superb as Dennis showed his classical influence and a brilliant move to lower the key from C sharp to C because Ballerina started in C Minor and end in D Minor (the saddest chord of all). Then Ballerina was also the collaboration between Dennis and Tommy on the Crystal Ball album. The first half was Dennis and Tommy came up with the music for the last section. Also JY and Tommy's dual guitar leads were phenomenal.
