We are just now able to "detect" earth-like planets in other solar systems. Alien structures would have to be on the order of magnitude of suns for us to even think they aren't naturally formed. So we wouldn't see spaceships, especially if they travel by manipulation of space-time. Which in turn invalidates your travel ETA.

The idea of aliens is completely stupid let alone, irrelevant. We can see stuff thats BILLIONS of lightyears away, and yet we haven't seen a single shred of life anywhere else in the universe. Even if there was life on one of those extremely far off planets it would still be irrelevant because it would take the aliens BILLIONS of years to get here.

@FutureImagineerRCT3 While I think we agree on the alien stance on Earth, your arguments don't actually prove anything to the existence of aliens elsewhere. We are just now able to "detect" earth-like planets in other solar systems. Alien structures would have to be on the order of magnitude of suns for us to even think they aren't naturally formed. So we wouldn't see spaceships, especially if they travel by manipulation of space-time. Which in turn invalidates your travel ETA.

Point is we still haven't found plenty of species of creatures in our own seas and certain jungles. Since we can't even do that I have no reason not to doubt the idea of alien life. We need to assume that any life besides our own from another planet is beyond our capability of understanding currently and try to remain open minded.

i have a feeling they will soon, irresponsible use of artificial intelligence could prevent natural evolution for many galaxies, of course one could claim that this change IS evolution, but i think established civilizations will care more about survival than paying homage to evolution.

Oh, it's just Fox News! The typical audience for Fox doesn't know that the odds of forming amino acids are 10^133 power, and even at the speed of light it would take four years to reach the nearest star. Even just one another habitable planet in our galactic cluster would be extremely optimistic, never mind the Drake Equation.

@jaymthegenius You speak the truth my friend! Even travelling at light speed would get you virtually nowhere in regards to the distance to other stars. But who is to say that other beings aren't much more evolved than we are? Who is to say that their science and understanding of the universe is beyond our ability to grasp? Maybe these other beings can travel at the speed of THOUGHT! The universe is just too ancient, and too vast to not harbor other life!

it is unlikely the visitors come from their planet of origin, the visitors have likely been spreading themselves throughout the galaxy for some time. It is through this planet hopping of civilization that it would eventually find its way to earth, early in human history possibly even before there was such a thing as a human. Noticing how evolved the life was they decided to let us evolve naturally and they monitor us as a method of studying evolution.
