  • Hot Charlie bit my Gleetards1

  • Description says "... so mature, so pure". I dont know what that means: I always thought she is quite lost, pretty messed up, in her head. What a waste of talent and potential!

  • Good lord people, at whatever point this was she was just singing in the manner of which she wants to. It's like when she did the Acoustic version of JLP on it's 10th anniversary in '05. She sang the way she sang during '05, she didn't force herself to sing a certain way just to please assholes.

She's got my respect for always singing the way that she wants, despite the pushback she gets from people unhappy about a song being performed differently. This was brilliant.

  • Guys she's doing this as a joke.

  • I like the pop version better. Thought it would have been funny if she song the pop version!

  • Wow, I absolutely love this, does anyone know where I could download this version??

  • She should have done this song with choreographed dancing.

  • Come on, party people in the house.

  • Call me a dork, but I like the original better.

  • I met her this day before the show Had a blast with her, said as a joke sing too hot, she said she was actually going to sing it that night

  • Sorry but this is morbid, the original was fun and high energy. This sucks.

  • She's not afraid of showing how she started. Shakira should do the same...

  • She ruined her own song!

  • @jennywenny1000 when she sang that track back at the time she was under her parents demands and label dictation- I think the toned down version has a distinct sadness that echos that and I hold it as valid in that right.

  • @yancybutler That's to bad. I like the original version, but I didn't mean to imply that she couldn't do anything with it. I just don't listen to this version. ;-)

  • @jennywenny1000 I agree, but at the same time, it is her song to ruin.

  • she reclaimed it, took it back...made it her own AGAIN....

  • @mccoobs lame comment

  • ha i just got this that it was one of her pop songs before pill,,lol that is to funny

  • I prefer early Alanis

  • This sucks, I hate when artists try and deny what they were,,,

  • Lindooo!!

  • This performance of "Too Hot" is more ironic than "Ironic".

  • ALANIS - awesome from the very Beginning, Middle, Now and Forever in the Future !

  • OMG!!! I F-N LOVE IT!!!

  • Think happy thoughts ... think happy thoughts ... think ... happy ... happy ... think ...

IT`S NO USE! I CAN`T DO IT!! THIS COVER SUCKS!!!

  • Alanis goes hippie? This version's not for me, I'll stick with the original.

  • Ok where can I get this version?!!?!?! I live in the US!!!!

  • @GuitarSlinger26 : You can't. She never recorded it beyond the original recording on her Canadian album which was pop version. Want this version, download the video file from youtube, then convert it or extract the audio. Its the only way you'll get it.

  • @AClRCLEOFLlGHT Dude I didn't even think of that ! I love her and have the original version! She could sing the abc's and I would rock it proudly! Thanks again!

  • @GuitarSlinger26 : No problem, glad I could help. Its not pirating when the music you're using is unreleased. Lani makes no money from it either way.

There is so much unreleased music on the internet, so many live recordings of covers and such. Just in Lani's case alone, you could fill 10 CD's will stuff she never released.

    Enjoy

  • @AClRCLEOFLlGHT She definitely has a bunch on here too. Thank you again it is always a pleasure talking to another fan! Take Care! :)

  • WOW! It's all about delivery,,,

  • …….amazing………….

  • "This next song "deserves" no introduction... PERFECT!

  • Alanis (Like I think you will read this, not) but, this is exactly why I think your one of the best performers alive today. The original of this song is or was, well just awful. You took it and made so much fun from it. Your my one "get out of jail free". In relationships, both parties have that one that if the oppurtunity arose, which both know it never will, you can fool around with no reprocussions. Well, your mine, and probably always will be. Thanks, your "Too Hot"..... LOL

  • love, love, love this.

  • my life is more complete now that i've seen that.

  • "C'mon party people in the house."

    LOL!

  • It's been everyday now.

And it just won't go away now, no.

Life is so intense now. Not much common sense now, yeah-eh-ah-ah.

And late in the night I turn out my light, yeah.

A song in my head, and it says "step inside the real world".

  • Wow! it's actually listen-able at that tempo.

  • nothing nothing can ever come between us we could be heros for just one day

  • OMG! This rocks! Awesome.

  • unoriginal? you mean unimaginative :p

  • She isn't denying her past, if she was, she would'nt have used the song after all. She is just giving it another jacket. Let her. As long as SHE is the one modifying her own stuff instead of second-order massproduction "artists" who are too unoriginal to come up with something new.

  • Ow just stop picking on Alanis. Acknowlegde the fact you derrive you identity from the image of celebrities, and that this song won't fit in the picture you have internalised of her, doesn't mean she it isn't a beautiful song and she a hell of an artist!

  • Silly, silly girl ... When you aren't trying to pretend your earlier work doesn't exist, you are crapping out subpar versions of said earlier work.

    Thank you, disillusionment.

  • silly you fuking whore mother suckerr ok alanis it's the best and this song it's so amazing ok loserrrrrrrrr :s

  • Learn how to be coherent, asshole.

P.S. : Yes, this song is amazing. Just not

     this lameass version.

  • go ahead , lmao i think you hate alanis just put my dick in you ass and enjoy lol

  • For the record, my feelings for Alanis are complicated. There are many things about Alanis I love, and also many things I hate.

Also for record ... Even if I wanted your filthy dick in my ass, you probably wouldn't have one to begin with.

  • I believe she wanted to give credit to it.. it was one of her first hits.. and it was a hit.. if only in Canada.

'Deserves no introduction.. ' literally means that she felt she didn't need to introduce the song.. as the song itself was already enough for you to get it.

  • when people love you like alanis, you can sing however you want it still sounds good, i dont mean shes bad, i just mean the different tones and such, she does her thang

  • Not a bad transition from up beat pop song to her depressed "woe is me" style she had for a time. How cool would it have been to see her completely wig out 1991 style, choreographed dance and all?

  • I didn't like it much, I thisk she did betray the spirit of that song (that I like very much as it is, a dance pop song). Alanis, don't deny your past, it shaped the magnificent person you are now!!!! :)

  • love this too! Both versions are awesome stuff! :D

  • Mene mene tekel upharsin.

  • Solid arrangment. Really dramatic.

    Somewhat Tim Hardin-esque.

  • what was this one recorded?

  • was this for the feast on scraps tour, if it is i wonder why she didnt put it on the dvd.

  • She's like Mandy Moore. Mandy rarely performs her old stuff, and when she does, it's some new indie-acoustic version. Alanis did a good job here. But the original will always be the best.

  • oh God, can't handle te comparisson

  • Awesome, the two versions are great!!! This woman's got talent, and TRUE REAL TALENT!

  • M A R A V I L H O S A !!!

  • I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it is to try and make a song like this sound mature. She really gives it her all.

    Props.

  • i've only heard the song a hand full of times but i like them both .

she was young and wrote the way she felt at the time.

    i give her props.

    peace

  • I think you're been too serious, I can toatlly see she's laughing at her for writing this time of songs... I would laughed about her too if I saw her dancing like paula abdul....and I'm her fan

  • I question your taste in music. Her lyric's where fucking awful back then and it sounded SOOOOOO cheesy. Im glad she turned into a serious artist. Thats not selling out thats getting real.

  • just cuz her music was pop, doesn't mean that she wasn't aserious artist. It's just different music.

  • @spineli I'm more of a country fan, but I give other music a chance. I used to be hard core only country music. But now I listen to pretty much everything BUT rap.

  • @spineli I'm more of a country fan, but I give other music a chance. I used to be hard core only country music. But now I listen to pretty much everything BUT rap and hard metal

  • @guitarbrittany31 hey woah exact same story here :)

  • @INF3darkgreen I had trouble getting my messages sent and pressed reply twice cause I didn't think my message went through. ha sorry bout that...

  • One of the things I like about Alanis is that she is always re-inventing herself. Great rendition, I thought.

  • cuec! you need to see a doctor...

  • I don't see how that'll help, seeing as it didn't help the last time.

  • "This song deserves no introduction."

    Hahaha...

  • You...liked...."Too Hot"?? Try listening to it with the volume on.

  • This is awesome! I like singers who can laugh at themselves and their embarrassing past. It's amazing what adding a last name can do to your career (I'm looking at you, Dido and Bjork).

  • hey! dido and bjork are amazing with just one name...ahhahaa

  • wow beautiful!!!!

  • This was in Toronto, December 12 2002. I was there, front row, and I swear I can see myself as a speck...!

  • Well, the reason why she became "jagged", is because she wanted to find her own voice. Most young artists go through fazes to branch out to see how far they can stretch.

As we can tell by later albums, she has kind of returned to her 80s self. She is able to draw from her experiences and because of it, we have what she is today.

  • I liked the 80's and original Too Hot, and always thought she was a poser with Jagged Little Pill..all screamy angst grunge and "I'm so unkempt".

  • Never thought she was a poser. She was a pawn of the record industry who after her contract expired became true to herself. her lyric's on Jagged Little Pill where great.

  • I love the cover she makes!

  • I don't want Alanis to sing songs from pre-Jagged Little Pill era! I don't like it

  • love this song

  • I muchly prefer this version!!

  • Alannis, call me.

  • I loved this long and black hair.

  • loves the long long hair

  • Alanis is hot..this guy is cold! ;D

  • The original version is better.

  • The original was too trendy.

  • Trendy?

  • Yeah. It reminded me of Paula Abdul's early years.

  • yes

  • "All party people in the house." haha

Wow Canada made her a pop star, then she turned hippy like and made "You Oughta Know" and the rest is history.

  • pretty cool of her to take a song of her past like that and totally redo it in a way that fits in with today and her own personal style, and even cooler that she could pull it off!! Mad props Alanis.

  • bbbllllaaaaaa

  • Real nice ass

  • Brillante :)

  • Funny "ironic" twist on the hip-hop elements of the song. Gotta love it when hip-hop is done in that 'deadpan' "suburban (code word)" way. Although a bit cliched now.

  • i didn't think she would ever live that song down but this is a serious improvement

  • god this version gives me chills

  • te amo

  • I love how her smile just radiates in this video, it shows she is proud of the choices and path her career has taken her. This is the allure of Alanis, and I love her dearly for it.

  • Anyone knows when was this?

  • esta version es buenisima

  • Hahaha, this is cool. I'm glad she's not afraid to dig some of her bubblegum past up and be a little tongue in cheek about it, but still showing her talents. In the 90s when she made it really huge I was a bit skeptical about her new "dark" image but she eventually won me over after a few years. I think she has a great sense of humor.

LMAO "Come on party people in the house."

  • at least she, has payed respect to where her seeds first began to sow, into full blossom that no female artist comes near to achievin' the success that she has garnered.i mean lyrically she has changed her style, maybe even dramatically.. but i hav the most utter respect, for someone who has no probablem

lookin' bk!! she shines when she is on stage and she is far frm afraid. ;]

  • You never throw a hero party for those who appose who you chose to be!

  • awesome, i love the original version and this take on it, alanis is love

  • I find it hard to really compare the two versions cause really, the original was done at not only a very different time, but also a different time in her carreer where she was still trying to find her footing. Jagged Little Pill was her breakthrough album and this was like 3 years before that.

  • I am sure Alanis does not like doing this....but I think she did just to prove she hasn't forgotten it

  • She had this on MySpace once. I think she did it for the diehard fans.

  • very possible.....but when she introduces this..she sounds a little annoyed by it LOL

  • The lyrics are very trite and seem to make little sense. She was just going through the motions. She knows the diehards would dig this skeleton out of her closet, so she just did it as something different.

  • A lot better!!

  • A much much better version than the original 90s hit. Now THIS is something I'd be happy to listen to!

  • That was heaps cool! Did she ever comment on why she did it or anythiung like that?

  • She probably uses the teleprompter because she hasn't really sung this song in years. I know if you watch Alanis in other concerts she rarely is seen looking at the teleprompter to sing the lyrics.

  • wow! this version is so much better than the pop version. I really think that this performence has upgraded the song to the highest level! superb.

  • I love how she needs a teleprompter to remember the lyrics.

    — Word!

  • actually a bunch of artist do the same thing.

  • It is so funny to watch this after seeing the original video! I love when she says, "This next song deserves no introduction."

  • me too!

  • It's cool that she can transform this song into some rock format. If I hadn't heard the original, I probably would have assumed it was a b-side song or something. But since it used to be one of her earlier hits, it's pretty impressive taht she's able to relive it again... in a different vibe. But ya know what, I happen to actually like that song. Very Paula Abdul-esque and I like some of her stuff tho. :D

  • wow this is pretty cool i like both performances... really cool to see her playing her older stuff that people barely knoe

  • I really hope Canada includes this song on Flavors of Entanglement. I love her vocal range in this song, so I guess it would be worth having it on the cd.

  • leave it to her to take a happy go lucky pop song and make it depressing...!

  • i totally agree... she makes a total mockery of this song... kinda ungrateful if u ask me. i mean without those 2 pre jlp albums where would she be??? songs like that r what gave her her first break in the biz and she should be more thankful for that instead of hiding it away like dirty laundry or somthing.

  • Its Alanis' song and she can sing it any way she wants to. Who should she be "thankful" to? The record company that make lots of money from this song?

  • I agree with robskalas. She can do whatever she wants to that song. Personally I think this is just as good, if not better, then the original.

  • ...the fact that she perfomed this song here (which was in what 2002?) shows that she is ackknowledging that point in her carrer...and besides it sounds better this style than that horrible fake synthed up early 90's version.

  • can any1 send me this version on mp3 plz

  • i have it, give me your email and ill send it to you...

  • Does anyone have an MP3 file of this song??!!

All I can find to download is the original 1991 version. Thanks!

    Isn't she beautiful?

  • i do have it, gimme your email and i'll send it to you ;)

  • Great job buy Alanis, Bring back her old school stuff.

  • This just shows her depth, and how she can take a pop/dance song and change it to something with more melodic tones. I love it.

  • Ferapple:

Have you got any problem? Or it is just so-called "penis-problem"? Remember - you can always lengthen your d... to feel better.

I would probably pass by but I wasn't able to resist :):P.

  • whatever. Check out the 4 Alanis videos from 10/19/07 in the search rmbralph

  • Jaja que capaaa!!!!

Me quedo con esta version de too hot, lejos!! jaja buenisimo!!!

  • ...I prefer the original

  • A more or less silent version of the original.

    I love it.

    Your voice.. Wonderfil like always.

I love it when you are opening your mouth :)

  • Jesus, ALANIS THAT IS SO AWESOME

    LOVE YOU

  • I so need this version of this song!

  • q bueno..

    jajajaa

q lindo haber podido estar presente en ese show

  • This is like if Tori Amos today performed from Y Kant Tori Read? Go Alanis.

  • just so you know, tori does perform deconstructed versions of the songs 'cool on your island' and 'etienne' a handful of times every tour. i don't think YKTR is nearly as embarrassing as Alanis's first two albums.

  • hahahhaha.... I will try do add this song to our band set list

  • Excellent love this song in his voice and I love Alanis, We need you

  • HAHA i LOVE it. shes incredible. does anyone know how to play this on the guitar?? i cant find the chords :[

  • I love this song

never too hot, never too old...

  • I can't believe alanis did this as the alanis we all know now :)

  • I love that version of Too Hot

  • I love this woman!

  • why doesn't she put out an album of these older trtacsk but redone.

Maybe Too Hot, Death Of Cinderella, King Of Intimidation

  • love her!!! i heard she is planing on write a new album. i hope she make a tour also

  • actually, her new album is completed. guy sigsworth produced it, and 25 songs were recorded. 13 will make it on the album. its called "flavors of entanglement".

  • Her new cd is gonna be titled Flavors Of Entanglement...should be out very soon

  • Her brothers provided the backup vocals on the original version. Does anyone know if it's her brothers who say the "party people" lines in THIS video?

  • Jason Orme says it in this one.

  • It's her guitarist Jason Orme.
