Part of the reasin The Big O was so awsome was Roger: no young idiot angsty robot piolet was he. Roger Smith is James Bond, Bruce Wayne, and little Spike Spigel thrown in for good measure. In a word:cool.

i don't know. I just thought that the second season was too different, so I didn't like it. To me, the first season was perfect because it was slowly developing the characters while still keeping that undertone of sadness to everything.

Sweet. I haven't seen this in years, and it's good to have the most badass film noir mecha anime back. It also comes in handy for a one-shot Abridged Series-type thing I might be doing if I can get the equipment. ^^ Bit of curiosity on my part; you got any opinion of the change in overall tone during season 2?

Oh god!! The second season was too crazy. Too much fighting, too much weirdness, too many tomatoes. Plus, it wasn't as cool or sad. I really missed all that beautiful jazz. What a shame. The idea of the ending was good, it just wasn't well executed

is this the big o, or the big o II. i found a collectors set published by five star laser at the great escape (its a comic shop), and paid 15.99 for it, but it only says The Big O Collection, and doesn't specify whether this is the first season, the actualy beginning, or big o II. I see some dvd collections that say big o II on them, but i don't know what the difference is. could someone help?

This is the first episode. So you have the first season--the Big O II collection is the second season. Of course, you could go on the web and get the new DVD edition for $500!
