2K8 is the premiere basketball simulation game on the market. LIVE series is horrible now. NBA 08 and that whole series is also horrible. Check the NBA 2K8 vs NBA Live 08 vs NBA 08 grudgematch video by IGN where they compare all 3 games - 2K8 is crowned winner by far.

NBA 2k8 is boring as hell, it has terriable graphics, it's the same game as last year, the excact same game as last year, only the player ratings and the shitty shooting bar, which their is no need for. Like I said before, it is the exact same game as last year, just repackaged with a picture of Chris paul slapped on the front.

They atleast made a new shooting area system, it's pretty cool, and strategical, But 2k8 is just the same exact thing, exept the shooting bar which is useless, it says to shoot if your open, like I didn't know. Live's gameplay is terrible. Its 2 easy 2 score no matter what level u play it on. I play online and everytime i am about to win someone quits the game and they dont even give me a win nor do they get the loss. If u want a 4sure game i would say 2k8 is the best choice. Although live has made improvements its still not a good game. i wish they would invite people to ACTUALLY test the games instead of doing it for good reviews. SHITS REDICULOUS!

I recall the times when EA's NBA LIVE series was the only decent basket-ball simulation (arcade really), but NBA Live 08 compared to NBA 2k7 & 2K8 is an absolute garbage. Have a look at 2k7 and it flows very good, very nice pace and action. Graphics, tv-coverage presentation and atmosphere are way better on 2k7.
