he's doing about 40-45 mph, i was a clerk and i have watched many go by.....when a train went past an outlying depot the clerk on duty had to stop work and "look the train over" and report or "os" the train, and tell the engineer that he looked good by wherever. i once spotted a container of Smucker's Jelly open and jelly was everywhere....

If anybody knows the length of a car, we could calc the speed, as 1 car length needs exactly 0.92 sec in this video... Assuming 40 feet containers plus 10 feet gap equals to 54.3 ft/s = 16.6 m/s = 59.6 km/h = 37.1 mi/h. Makes sense... Rail experts' comments welcome ;-)

Thanks! It's actually an SD70M-2. don't think CN has any ACers or 90MACS. I'm not really sure what the difference is between the Ace and the M-2.

well on the Freeport line, we only have 2 regulars a day, this was just an extra that we lucked out on. To the south of Freeport though, there are some places w/ heavy trraffic like Rochelle and Galesburg
