  • If you edit your photos in post production, you are a photographer and an artist. I like this phase bro.

  • GREAT VIDEOS! I'm new to photography, and I mean new...any advice on how to get started?

  • Hahaha love your style. You have a new subscriber. Oh yeah, I shoot RAW =D

  • i love all your vids! you explain everything so well and i am learning so much! thanks :)

  • @missashleymarieee Thank you very much, I'm happy that my vids are meeting your needs. Thank you for watching and your support!

  • This is awesome. No, you are awesome. Many thanks!

  • I like so much the way you teach photograpy...thank you!

  • Pretty nice video! And that video in the middle comparing JPEG to RAW was instructive. I didn't really know how much of a difference it can make.

I have a question. How did you get into shooting photos professionally? I'd like to get into that, but I don't really know where to begin. For example, how can you get your photo bought by a magazine (or does a magazine send you on specific shoots)? There's lots I'd like to know.

  • @Rationalific Funny, if you really knew me you would have answered that question! LOL I pretty much pushed my way in. By this I mean, I really got in peoples faces (respectively) and asked if I could shoot their event, take their portrait and through support of friends that introduced me to other people. I found a certaine niche that I enjoyed and pursued that...fashion and music! Networking is HUGE, so don't be afraid to talk to people! What's the worse that can happen?No...big deal! Thank you!

  • @KreativeVueTV Thanks for the advice!

  • I shoot raw and then I edit the one's I like into a jpeg.

  • MORMAN ADVERTISMENT!

  • i was wondering what is a good lens that works for in and outdoors events?(i use a nikon 3000 btw)

  • Thanks for the video! Very, very, very helpful!

  • Thank you,very useful video.

  • @TheShadow1975100 No, no...THANK YOU!!!

  • thank you,,,8s great video,,,

  • Great video but have to disagree about alot of it, I shoot in RAW all the time.. because I want to have keepers.. I dont want to be re-using the same JPG and see it loose its quality!

If I am shooting for a friend who wants to view them at his house when I am with him, Ill shoot RAW +JPG so he can view the files and choose what ones he wants edited.

    Good video though mate

  • @WarrenAckary180 Hello, thanks for watching! Your point is valid for your situation. Sounds as if you encounter this quite often, so shooting RAW+JPEG makes sense as you intend to do a lot of post on all your images as well as show your images immediately to your clients. However, in all other instances you have to judge whether taking up extra space on your cards and hardrives is worth shooting RAW+JPEG. Post or not to Post is the big question here. I always shoot JPEG when i KNOW I will do...

  • @WarrenAckary180 ...very little to NO post work on them. Lightroom is a non-abrasive editing program, so editing the same photo over and over again will not degrade from its original quality. Not every situation requires images to be shown on the spot to clients. The point of the video is to educate people on the two formats and help the public determine when best to use RAW or JPEG...I just don't think every situation justifies RAW+JPEG. I invite you to share your expertise on my Facebook page!

  • Great video, really

  • Another great vid thanx ;) !!!

  • Thanks man

  • Wait, you'd shoot jpeg for sport? I don't think that would turn out too well...

  • @MrLouisBrooks To answer your question...yes and no. The disclaimer is, if you think that you are going to spend lots of time in post, then shoot in RAW. All I'm saying you're not any less of a photog for shooting in either. As a photographer, you'll need to judge yourself which format is appropriate for that situation. All I did was clear the air with when is the IDEAL time to shoot in both formats. What you personally feel is appropriate is up to you. Hope this answers your question. Thanks!

  • I am not even a Photographer yet but hey, thanks for the info! :D

Knowing more insight on when to shoot jpeg and raw is handy one. Good vid.

  • HEY!!! I love my camera and bring it everywhere, but I shoot in JPEG in those cases :)

  • @wilbertcs Haha...I'm sure you are not where near the photogs I was describing! For the record I did say SOME, not all. I'm sure you are true to your art and your camera is your best friend! I did poke fun at that as I too have been in that situation and quickly learned that I HATE carrying around my DSLR in such places! All the best to you and thank you for your support!

  • Yes, not all cameras have this ability. However, my canon 7D does allow me to shoot in both JPEG and RAW at the same time (every time I press the shutter release button). Although I'm a fan of Nikon as well, asking me which camera is better will be SOME what of a biased opinion. Well...not really. In my humble opinion, the canon rebel camera's come packed with more features...MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK! This does NOT mean that Nikon entry level DSLR's can't measure up, THEY ARE MORE THAN CAPABLE!

  • sir,

    @ 0:34

by saying simultaneously, did u meant say that some cameras can record both jpeg and raw automatically for each and every click? without me clicking separately for raw & jpg for same picture?

i am newbie photographer and you are doing wonderful job by helping amateurs like me :)

it will be great if you can talk about canon vs nikon in your next vid. i am not sure if i want t3/t3i or d3100/d5100. that's my budget for now :-) please tell us your experience with canon and nikon.

  • @utubekhiladi I have a T3i and it shoots both at same time with one click. I would say the T3i is a great camera for the $.

  • @AReptileMan I share your exact sentiments! The T3i and T2i are really, in my opinion, Canon's best "entry" level cameras available on the market. I use the "entry" loosely as I think it suits even the pro-amateurs needs. It has such great features that even indie filmakers go out of their way to purchase this camera to film their short films. Cost+great image quality+amazing video quality=AWESOMENESS!!!
