@mghaz The guy at the front is called an aircraft despatcher. the engines are started by the pilot. the cable disconnected to the aircraft is so that he can speak to the flight crew. he is there so that there is someone to see that engine start up went ahead normally.

I have some questions to ask:
Is this the guy near the front gear turning on these engines or the pilot does?
does ignition start at 0:40?
what did he disconnect before he leaves?
