  • i was there!

  • The platform should be banned-cheats is that the only way the US can get a record?

  • @58Vulcan your moms a whore

  • YEAHHHH MINNESOTA!!!!!

  • Everyone's acting as if the launching platform is cheating somehow, leaving aside the fact that plenty of others use them and still just fall straight in, you try building a giant moving platform with something that big on top of it that four people can push up to sufficient speed. Really the launching mechanism is as impressive as the damn plane, the whole thing is a giant crate full of awesome.

  • 5 Taliban didn't like the US Army Flugtag winning.

  • sooooooooo anyone see the guy pushing fall in? :D awesome!

  • I'll win it next year. My launch dolly will be 100ft. tall.

  • ummm ok talk about a waste of time

  • his nephew is one of my best friends

  • Gotta love a B-25!

  • Should of be measured by where legs fell or tail at least

  • i just went to the one in Philly today and the farthest there was 42 ft. one fell apart and didnt even make it off the runway

  • @fireball8798 me too

  • I didn't go but man seeing people fail on some of the videos makes me not proud of being a Minnesotan. lmfao.

  • i wonder how they get all that crap out of the river

  • who gives a fuck that this was in minnesoda? rofl

  • Red bull gives you wings!~

  • intros are gay and annoying

  • so this is what people do when they don't live in California

  • So wait. St Paul is representing now? hahahahha. that was funnier than all of Flugtag

  • I just watched this 10 times in a row!!!

  • finally someone didn't go face first into the water

  • the fun is taken out of flugtag when entries look more like actual planes and not funny random crap.

  • W00T MINNESOTA >:D

  • What's the big deal ? Anyone with a hang glider could beat that distance !

I thought the idea behind Flugtag was to build something that would NOT fly.

  • i thought it was going straight down haha

  • :47 dude falls in water :D

  • NEW FLYING MACHINE INVENTED

  • wow bored to the max

  • CHEATING :O

  • Yeah! thats a B-25 Mitchell replica one of the many bombers used in WWII.

  • "Oh....,OHHHHHH??"

  • Who would have thought, rednecks in Minnesota.

  • MINNESNOWTA

  • The woman in the background was annoying... "Sound effects"

Can't you just shut up and enjoy the time there?

  • fuck you i was there!

  • The scaffolding was legit and cleared by the judges. Everything had to be under 250 lbs.

  • wtf?

  • YYYYEEEAHHHH

  • The judges said the height was fine. The other thing to consider is that the launch deck was 4 feet shorter than normal...I guess most teams must go for style over distance!?

  • So let's see - could it have had anything to do with the 15-foot tall cheater scaffold (launcher) it was on? Had it launched from the deck, it would not have pulled out from the first dive. If all floog-taggers launched from a 15-foot height advantage relative to the deck, what would THEIR distances have been, I wonder...

  • @logmeindangit They also would not have dove as deep without the cheater deck, so whose to say their dive would have failed?

  • @efilflah "whose [sic] to say their dive would have failed? " Oh, you mean "who's?" Well, I will step up to that plate.. For anyone who has basic aerodynamic knowledge, and I do, It's all about angle of attack and airspeed. It is clear to see that the plane was going too slow when it took off, and the dive was inevitable. Had it left the deck AT the deck height, it would not have been able to dive far enough to achieve flying speed, and would have hit the water in that initial dive. Cool vid.

  • @logmeindangit There is no height restrictions, all the other teams have the same rules. Team Bacon had a 20 foot platform. If he wouldn't have gotten hung up he might have done pretty good.

  • @logmeindangit Yeah, those dirty cheaters figured out how to build a good plane that met all the requirements and could fly! They were in it for distance and they succeeded. Good for them. Others were in it simply to entertrain themselves and others. Good for them, too.

  • @Ididnotwanttojoin OK, you're right, they obviously would not have been allowed to participate if they wee cheaters. I take that back. No basis for my "cheater scaffold" accusation other than "the deck" appears to have been the accepted starting plane for everyone else... I wonder what the limit is for height of scaffolding...

  • @logmeindangit he would have pulled up if he launched from the deck. as you can see, the scaffold tilted forwards as soon as the front wheels had gone off the platform. if the wheels had been on the plane, it would have been level the whole time, eliminating the nose dive.

  • @therealcedz Sorry, I disagree. The nose dive from the scaffold was unavoidable because it was traveling below "flying speed" and was still stalled. The stallled dive luckily enabled the glider to increase speed and get above a stall. (I have flown hang gliders for decades, so diving to increase speed is common in order to get above stall speed. The plane wasn't actually "flying" when it left the platform, and HAD to dive in order to continue forward at anything above a mush descent rate.

  • @logmeindangit I think the point is that it's legal and no one has thought to do it. Give them points for finding it before anyone else.

  • i was there! go minnesota!

  • great job dixies!!!! you had that crowd roaring!!!!

  • @SpleifK go home!

  • I was there!

  • It was awesome!!!! Go Major Trouble and the Dirty Dixies

  • i was right next to the judges stand in landed right in front of us MN's the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That was awesome! Especially the one in the blonde wig dancing and prancing like a spring calf let out to pasture! The dude had so much talent that if it wasn't for him --- that plane would be floating halfway to New Orleans by now! I give all the credit to Blondie, that's for sure!

  • This was rediculous. We were watching it from Kellogg Ave it was so crowded.

  • great view. i was on the other side before it started and couldnt see anything. so glad i went to the other side of the river.

  • I was there. My footage is HD but from my angle you don't get to see the gliding part that was so amazing. Great!

  • I was in the crowd on the Harriet island side of the river, and everyone went wild when it pulled out of the dive and started gliding. So awesome!
