When I was younger (1978-1981) I used to live in Bushey Heath in Hertfordshire. John Conteh used to live roundthe corner in a raod called Donnwalong and drive a brown Rolls Royce. Me and my sister used to go around his house and ring on the doorbell and ask his blonde missus for "John Conteh's autograph". She used to give us a signed photo of him in his shorts wearing his Lonsdale belt every time. Brilliant boxer and everyone in Bushey Heath was well proud of him.

Further proof here that Geoff Britton was an incredibly lousy drummer. His replacement, Joe English, was by far the best Wings drummer.

Yes, indeed. As you can see in the "Paul McCartney Encyclopedia" he is a famous Liverpool boxer... and was the light-heavyweight champion of the world... Prior to that bout Paul and Linda had sent the 23-year-old fighter a telegram that read: "You made me Number One. Now YOU be Number One!"This was a reference to Conteh's appearance on the Band On The Run sleeve.
