  • You have speed dating en speed ceramics

  • so elegant!

  • Wow, love it!

  • ur really good!!! and so young!!! You must have been born with a clay spoon in ur mouth!!! :-)

  • @alonnastorm Haha, well for sure it wasn't silver!!

  • amazing work :) btw wuts the song u have playing?

  • i love this pitcher great work but how are u cutting that top piece to form that spout im trying to look and figure it out but its too fast

  • @jEdeYeTrIcKs I'm just kinda wingin it, most of the final shaping happens after the spout is attached and cut.

  • how would you do the foot and what not? or does it not need one?

  • WOW!!!!

  • I love how he takes a breath in the end like: phew~ i'm glad this take didn't mess up <3 amazing work.

  • @RodasBee hehe, it was sorta like that :)

  • @RodasBee That was pretty much exactly what i was thinking.. :)

  • really beautiful! i love the spout. this inspires me for my last project in my wheel throwing class.

question: how many pounds of clay did you start with?

  • @angiedmusic i think maybe 5 pounds i started the bottom with?? try and make sure you have a drawing with measurements that you can refer back to while you're creating and throwing the piece :)

  • @angiedmusic 5 or 6 lbs maybe. I honestly dont remember.. Sketch your self a picture and take measurements off it. Then you know if you dont have enough clay instead of eyeballing the measurements of your piece as you go. :)

  • oh, joy! im not the only one who fast motions their pottery videos. :P

  • @RivermistClayYT There are already a million "how to center your clay videos"... I like to add my music and give a little different presentation :)

  • Witchcraft! :P Great vid though.

  • @RoCkbunny769 Hahaha, I'm pretty sure 200 years ago it really WAS Witchcraft!!

  • that was amazing, and great music too, one of the better pottery videos :)

  • @chuclebutt Thank you thank you, I'm in the process of creating three more videos right now. hope you like them. :)

  • nice work!! i love it! I dont find you at facebook..........

  • @leeuw666 Sorry about that. Here's a link: facebook dot com/joshsart

  • Such a graceful piece. Thanks for the video!

  • You should make more videos. This is one of the best videos out there imo.

  • Hey, is there a way that you can draw me a tiny sketch of that cut you made for the mouth of that pitcher....i want to try it...i had to research crystalline glaze for my ceramics class....what patience that would take.I wish you could come here to do a workshop!!

  • Nice, but I would like some instructions on how you achieve the shape etc.

  • i listened to katamari on the rock while watching :p

  • i like this one the most out of the past videos i watch

  • The Song is "No Rain" By Blind melon. very different version then how they usually play it

  • wow, this is really nice. if you have facebook add me Beckman's Ceramics. i will soon have a big pitcher on there sort of similar to yours. thanks

  • whats the music for this? i wana no sum1 please tell me

  • @yiyp Blind Mellon - escape.. ithink

  • @jjpp23 It is Blind Melon, but the song is called "No Rain." :)

  • @jjpp23 no rain

  • throwing is a great escape

  • sir you just gave me an idea to enter to the state art show, i cant thank you enough. Subcribed!!!

  • @TheDraindeimo how did the show turn out?

  • @jjpp23 I was kicked out of the Art department, one of my professors was playing favorites so i told her to shove it. So no show for me. Still doing it though:D

  • @TheDraindeimo Its ok, I think Picasso told his art teacher to shove it too. then again, so did Hitler...

  • Dude that thing is the sickest pitcher I've ever seen! Seriously way cool. And nice technique. I'm going to try that, but smaller of course ha

  • well I figure it out Josh once I started making the sprout section. I used the bat marks to divide it equally in four; made 2 circle marks 360 around the cylinder by starting 1st circle 2.5 to 3 " in. below the top rim to rep. the curve height of handle and spaced the 2nc cirle 1 " below the 1st to rep. the lenght handle marker, then drew the sprout lip one side and mirrored it on other side - the 1/4 marker dividers broke it down for me, Now I got it , I can be me creative THANK YOU for Vid!

  • wow Very creative. I give you 5 stars on that. by the way is that used as a real pitcher i mean it is pretty big

  • Dude that's some fast throwing!

  • Stunning work :)

  • Very clever! I couldn't see how you attached the handle, but you explanation is very clear and it makes sense!

  • LOL thanks Mona, that makes me feel better i was pretty sure i was rambling... :)

  • josh this is awesome lol

  • what kind of porcelain is this?

  • i just use the regular domestic porcelain. i've tried others like B and Southern ice etc. but this works and throws the best for me :)

  • im about to buy some laguna southern ice next week, its so expensive though, over a dollar a pound

  • in my opinion it better throw itself for that much money. lol, its just not worth it for what i do with it. it definitely doesnt throw any better but try them both and then you'll know what works best for you... thats what i did too :)

i'm guessing you're not going for better translucent properties which is what the benefit is suppose be...

let me know what you think of it too.

    josh

  • oh and i'm paying about 33 cents a pound for domestic delivered...

  • ok the other thing was I did not see how you did the handle on the video, it just appears.

  • haha, yeah my camera kept shutting off and i'm by myself so i couldnt tell.. but i just pulled normally and attached it right under the tab. i left the tab so that when i bent it back it would keep the line flowing smoother, otherwise i have to work it and it gets a worked look.. i tend to do that with handles.. :)

  • @jjpp23

Josh thanks for the reply, I took a look at the end of the video but I am not sure what you mean as the tab. The line of the handle is very clean looking, but what got bent back? Would you say the handle is about an inch in diameter?

  • Beautiful shape and line of the pot A++

Could you have thrown this in one piece and still cut out the spout? Or did you have to do this in 2 pieces

  • This was the second one i did ( you can see the first in the background at 3:23 ) the first had three pieces... i sketch a piece out first and then convert the measurements of the piece to the actual size i want. then i divide the piece in 3 parts n throw them. then get a feel for the piece and throw it again except this time i simplify where i can.. in this case it was no prob to throw the 2/3 in one piece. if i were to do another one i would do it like this again though.. help I'm rambling :)

  • That's really amazing work, great job!

  • Nice work!! What does this piece look like when its glazed???

  • sorry about that guys, i realized the camera was too low after i had cut the top.

  • This is a nice video. I would have liked to see how you cut out the rim for the spout. good stuff.
