Excellent work. I love the slow-mo of the fireball. It looks like you had a tennis ball on top of the rocket that exploded. Perhaps that prevented the release of the rubber stopper creating excessive pressure.
It was fun seeing all this in slow motion. The yellow object on top was a foam "practice" baseball; very low mass, just enough to forward weight the rocket and provide a little impact cushioning for landing. I don't think that prevented the rubber stopper from popping out, as the entire dry weight of this rocket is less than the dry weight + filled upper stage weight of you 2-stage version.
