I've got a question... how did you make the line-buildings at the beginning? did you use cinema 4d or did you do that in after effects?

@MRPictur3s The line-buildings at the beginning and the end were made with Cinema 4D. I used the "Preview Render" feature to render out the viewport in 1080p and then keyed out the grey and changed the black outline of the models to Blue in After Effects. Then added some glow, etc.

I love it. It's still killing me, though, what settings did you use for the reflective windows?

@lowellriggsiam I created a B&W image over the building texture that marked where the windows (white) and the building structure (black) was. I used this image as the bump map and the reflection map for each building texture. I wanted to make the reflection more realistic by blurring the reflection, but render times skyrocketed. I should have rendered a separate pass for the reflection then I could have blurred and controlled it more.

My next "Behind the Video" series will be opening up the project files and sharing the techniques and workflow used to create this video, hopefully that will give some insight into the making of this animation.
