I've been playing Rift for 2 months, enjoying it so far! The graphics are fantastic, like you see in this trailer. This trailer seems to be all ingame graphics, not some specially rendered video like most game trailers.

Wow. That trailer was pretty amazing. The leveling curve is interesting, but my favorite thing is to go Rift hunting with my buddies. It's funny how many people are hating on this game, when all you need to do is sit back and enjoy it. ;)

Yea you can hate this and go QQ on every film about this game but think about:
WoW is over 6 years and currently on version 4.2 and had in fact around 25 patches (might be more or less) so that means each 90 days a patch on WoW While RIFT is 4 months old when 1.3 hits. On preformance Rift will score way higher in the future. Keep up the good work!
I lvled 4 50s downed all content nothing spectacular here. Great Game but the world is small and there isn't enough overall content to keep the hardcore mmo players attetnion for more then a couple months. It is definantley worth it to check it out but with soo many bug's from tooltip errors to npc's it will leave you thinking that it isn't quite finished/"Polished". Graphics are amazing but the engine is really hard on even the best gfx cards. Recomend HD6870/gt460 and up.
Now hopefully they can change the way some of the character models and combat animations look so pvp and pve feel a bit more exciting. Sometimes i cant even play my rogue because of how god awful they look when they are swing their weapons.
For this game to have all of this funding it has come crappy art work. Especially for it to be so new. But juxtapose, the art work in WoW faded back in BC so hey, whos winning. NOBODY.

Aside from the over-crowded zones of NPC's - where you can't take two steps out of a camp without getting laid in to by wide-range agro-ing mobs, and the fact that invasions always seem to popup on the other side of the map making the boss hard to get to, and the fact that the dungeon system only works by server, and is therefore dead on my server - I love this game.

Rift the game were you, fight rifts to level. Thats it. You FIGHT RIFTS all day. You want to do that quest WRONG!, RIFT over it! now fight it!. You want to turn in a quest WRONG! you fight that invasion from the rift on the other side of the rift you just left.

@Darkioas Let us not believe the lvl 50 fanboys who obviously see nothing wrong with doing nothing but fighting Rifts in the hopes of clearing your town so you can turn in that quest that took an hour cuz of the constant zerg fest of mob elites 2-5 levels above you. Yeah 1-20 zones a Fucking invasion fest, constant every 15 mins there is another one. Since there is no fast safe travel, you will be hoofing it across wide maps so you cant avoid it.

@werenick999 They've milked WoW more than enough to make WoW 2 and get all of the subscribers back if they'd lose every single one now. It probably has more subscribers now than Rift after 5 years. Problem is that every one is copying WoW in one way or another. Rift is probably has most unique ideas, but it's still about the same thing milking money out of players by making them play the game they've completed and adding more stuff with 0,003% drop chance in some long ass dungeon.
@DonnZ0r WoW itself has copied a huge number of games. It's practicly impossible to make a game that is 100% orginal in every way. And every game company has to make money. The difference is RIFT isn't selling mounts, pets, the ability to play with friends cross server.
@werenick999 Neither did WoW when it was just few months old. It does now (or I think it does, I last played Wow over two years ago when they didn't sell anything but subscriptions and server transfers).
I'm honestly amazed they're pushing out content this fast - either they already had a bunch of it near ready or their SDK is amazing and their developers talented enough to use it. Rift is rocking, and my WoW friends are taking notice. This game isn't going to fade like the others - and I suspect Blizzard had to sell more sparkle ponies (gryphons) recently as a means to increase revenue for the quarter and offset the ongoing subscriber losses.
@jgamby4 It doesn't really make much sense. Instead of trying to win back the lost players, they just milk more money out of the remaining ones? I don't see the logic behind that :P

Yeah 1-20 zones a Fucking invasion fest, constant every 15 mins there is another one. Since there is no fast safe travel, you will be hoofing it across wide maps so you cant avoid it.

I did not run into one single problem lvling and having a blast playing this game. rifts and invasions do from time to time take over your quest place . but its apart of the GAME . most of the time i dont see any problems with rifts or invasions getting in my way. if you want to do no fighting rifts or invasions then this is not the game for you . I made lvl 50 with no problems at all with the rifts or invasions .They are fun as heck

This looks great...I'm loving Rift, it's so lag-free and hasn't crashed once. I did used to love WoW but it's got so dull after 5 years and i just am really over the so-called community (intolerant flamers often). There is definitely room for plenty of these types of MMOs.

@werenick999 They've milked WoW more than enough to make WoW 2 and get all of the subscribers back if they'd lose every single one now. It probably has more subscribers now than Rift after 5 years. Problem is that every one is copying WoW in one way or another. Rift is probably has most unique ideas, but it's still about the same thing milking money out of players by making them play the game they've completed and adding more stuff with 0,003% drop chance in some long ass dungeon.

@DonnZ0r WoW itself has copied a huge number of games. It's practicly impossible to make a game that is 100% orginal in every way. And every game company has to make money. The difference is RIFT isn't selling mounts, pets, the ability to play with friends cross server.

I'm honestly amazed they're pushing out content this fast - either they already had a bunch of it near ready or their SDK is amazing and their developers talented enough to use it. Rift is rocking, and my WoW friends are taking notice. This game isn't going to fade like the others - and I suspect Blizzard had to sell more sparkle ponies (gryphons) recently as a means to increase revenue for the quarter and offset the ongoing subscriber losses.
