Yes, on the other hand, it costs more job lose and leave no room for fresh grads that strive for entry networking jobs. The downfall here, what if the cloud system crash?????? How many companies are affected?? What's the recovery time? and how much is going to cost small businesses? Cloud networking is yet another corrupted move for big businesses to crush local IT/Networking companies
@beda204 Re: job loss, I strongly disagree. Premise boxes reach end of life and develop skills akin to manning a light switch. A cloud solution actually allows a fresh grad to carve out a key role in a biz and show their boss true value by using IT to drive biz initiatives as opposed to keeping the lights on. Re: cloud crashes? A properly architected cloud mitigates that risk at a level no colo across the street can do. "Crashes" are rarely cust impacting in clouds done right.
@beda204 In my opinion & of friends that are local IT/Networking companies, premise is the death knell of local IT, not cloud...ask anyone that is supporting Nortel or Avaya & hear the same. My advice would be find a cloud provider in your area of expertise and partner with them. Local IT is already part of the cloud movement across technologies, and it is a key player. By spearheading these initiatives, you will be an invaluable resource to your clients - not someone who keeps the light on.

Yeah, ship off all your confidential data to where you don't have any idea who has access to it or what they will do with it.
