I hate it when bands break up. Kevin's voice matched up perfectly with EB, but Parabelle, the beat doesn't suit seem to grab the essence of his voice. I don't know something just feels off with the songs.

Well Malm, Matisyn isn't for everyone but one thing I can assure you, it was him that made Evans Blue, not Chandler. While Chandler is a decent musician, he's different and I respect your preference in him, however what I don't quite understand is how you can justify sadism over self-mutilation or more accurately, self-deprecation. I absolutely adore kevin and the old evans blue - and I like parabelle. but I REALLY wish they would make some harder songs, songs that are really full of that raw energy and hardcore melodies his songs had when he was in EB. his vocals are just as good as always, but the accompaniment just isn't doing it for me.

But you need to consider the fact that there are a ton of other bands out there, with good songs of their own. And if you think of it that way it really sums up the odds, and makes it a very good accomplishment.

I agree with everyone that Evan's Blue now is NOTHING it used to be. Here in Texas they used to be huge in Houston, and on The Buzz (a rock station) they used to give out news about them all the time. Now I never hear ANYTHING about them on the radio anymore unless its one of their old songs every once in a while. I'm so glad I got to see them once before Matisyn left.
EB did screw up by not letting Kevin write his way! It is apparent now who was the band from day one! I cant wait for Parabelle to take off to the top! Kevin has such a distinct voice, it definately separates whatever band he is in from the rest!

This sounds way more like the original Evan´s Blue to me, as far as style and such goes as well as obviously the voice. A lot of people have been saying that they´re disappointed that Parabelle doesnt seem to have any hard songs, but most of the songs Evan´s Blue made were like this one. So maybe we can look to Evan´s Blue to produce some great harder songs with Parabelle filling in the rest of the melodic sound of the original Evan´s Blue?
I much prefer Dan Chandler for Evans Blue. I like Kevin and Parabelle, but EB with Dan is my favorite by far.

Maybe, you all forgot that bands have to pay their dues, and right now Parabelle is doing that. Y'all need to get your heads out of your asses if you think it's gonna be an over the night thing. Kevin is gonna have to fight for it, and I have so much faith in him and this band.
And droagan I'm thinking you're going to eat your words when it comes to this man. He's an amazing talent, and he just hasn't had his moment yet.

@droagan agreed, he is a great and unique singer, I dont agree however that Evan's Blue is a better band. At least, not anymore without Kevin.
These guys, aside from the drummer and kevin of course, are amateurs.

Maybe you need droagan's comment spelled out to you. He is saying that Kevin Matisyn is an excellent singer, but he keeps ending up in really low profile bands so he hasn't had a chance to really emerge into the public eye as the excellent singer that he is.

You are retarded. Listen to Evans Blue's second CD, The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal of Life Ends, and tell me their music doesn't back it up.. They are by far one of the most talented bands, and are very tight, the musicianship is just incredible.

Evans Blue sucks now. The singer is so mediocre, and they miss Kevin's writing ability. Their songs are so generically written now. Kevin pretty much was Evans Blue.

they broke up because of musical differences and a personal problem between kevin and the band, that should be left unsaid.
a lot of people see it as evansblue kicking kevin out, though.
and the new singer is just some standard hard rock singer I guess. he's always going to be overshadowed by kevin anyway.
just be a true fan and stick to kevin.
you can also listen to Evansblue though, its your choice.

This sounds way more like the original Evan´s Blue to me, as far as style and such goes as well as obviously the voice. A lot of people have been saying that they´re disappointed that Parabelle doesnt seem to have any hard songs, but most of the songs Evan´s Blue made were like this one. So maybe we can look to Evan´s Blue to produce some great harder songs with Parabelle filling in the rest of the melodic sound of the original Evan´s Blue?
