  • Hey if I wanted to accompany myself singing without playing the right hand melody do I just play those left hand chords with my right hand?

  • i think thats probably right..although i was wondering the same thing...:s

  • Here's the scoop. If i'm playing a C major chords (for example), which is C E G, I duplicate notes between right hand and left hand. So, my LH might have C G C and my RH might have E G C. When I play the melody, I use specific inversions so that the top note in my RH is the melody note. Make sense?

  • yeah makes sense...thanks loads xxx

  • FANTASTIC! <3

  • man-can't thank you enough Mark. Thanks so much

  • during the time interval 6:48 to 6:52 did you through in the

    B Major pentatonic scale ?

    Third comment.

    LOL : )

  • Yup, that's a B+ pentatonic scale, you got it!! Wow, I just realized how fast I played that. I find it so difficult to explain some of the things I do in 10 minute videos. If I explained the real way that I actual play these songs sometimes I think it would take 30 minutes! I guess you know your stuff so that's good!

  • Thanks. I learned that from your Sisqo's Incomplete video. I decided to take your advice and play around with pentatonic scale, and it is powerful man.

Thanks for sharing your talent and knowledge with us.

  • I wish my piano students would listen to my advice lol...i guess i can relate, I was a student once myself. Glad to know that you're enjoying that scale. I got a few more tricks up my sleeve...I'll eventually let them out of the bag...
