Peace disturbance laws...bah! Make it look like a Christmas Tree and make it louder than anything on the road. There should be no "I didn't see it/I didn't hear it" excuse. My department can make a deaf and blind person know we are coming, until it's nighttime. With great machines, comes great responsibility. If people want us to cut down on the lights and noise, they should pay more attention so we don't have to go the extra mile.

I get the chills when I see the trucks go by with the flag waving in the wind. I made sure my truck had a little flag in Afghanistan. As a gunner over there it made me feel so good to always see that flag in my peripheral vision.

Gee, if only ladder 4 was here because they have such a great real Q2B. Oh wait! It broke a few years ago & they got an EQ2B replacement. ☹

@jazzbutterworth Ladder 4 was in the station in the video, but NOW they have the replacement, and will hopefully soon have the new Ferrara .... :)

It's not a Q, but it is one of Federal's older model sirens.

@Piercefire1 If you ask the 30 Truck members they'll tell you it's not a "Q" .... BUT they take it off when it goes to the shops ... :)

Thats not a Q, it is a mechanical siren made by Federal Signal, but it is not a Q.

@highlander148 I don't know if that's exactly true ... 30 Truck is from Harlem and they are not "Quiet" up there by any means ... The dispatchers move the Companies as they see fit ... If one area is a little quiet then they could conceivably spare one from that area for a while, BUTTTTT 4 Truck is one of the Companies that MUST be covered ... so busy or not they bring um in ... :)

okay, i have seen barley any videos besides 2 or 3 of ladder 18/LES battalion 4/division 1 almost never gets video taped.

@jasonbsa The reason you haven't seen those units is because I rarely get out of MIDTOWN no UPTOWN, or DOWNTOWN units YET ... I WORK in Midtown 3 days a week for 6 hours each day so time is limited and I WALK to each scene you see here ... I do have plans on moving around the city a little more so keep your eyes open and we'll see what happens .... Hopefully you are enjoying what your seeing so far ... :)

@15georgest When a truck goes out of service like ladder 4 which is a truck that must be covered a different company comes in to cover them , ladder 4 was out of service because of the media interviews I believe

@15georgest an ACTING company is ANY company engine or truck, or even a chief that is assigned to replace that company due to them being out of service for whatever reason ... be that a call or breakdown or media day such was the case here ... In this case Ladder 30 was at Ladder 4, and as such was known as Ladder 30 Acting Ladder 4 ....
