It just didn't feel right for her to see other men because ever since I had been alive it had always been "mom and dad" my brother and me, and no one else. You just have this thing where "this is my family" and no else belongs in it because "this is my family" the way my family has always been and the way it should remain. Its a feeling that "family" are the people you grow up with. You feel this way as a child, but not as an adult.

And frankly, as hard as it is on the child, its even worse for the other parent because they lose the spouse that they loved. The adult is more mature and can outwardly deal with it better than the child, but its worse for the adult because that was their mate and closest friend.

@arwen17evenstar Actually, It isn't worse.I lost my dad, and had to suck it up like Ben.It is horrible when a parent make the child be the adult. in the family.The parent is half of the child.The child feels empty, it is actually worse.One of my mother's friends who had already lost a father lost his wife, and he was not in as much pain over losing his best friend than his dad. Losing a parent is way worse. My mother admits it, and so do many other people who I know that have been through both.
