The name of the song translates to something like In a land far, far away. It was created in 1939 by a singer in the Peoples Liberation Army of China. He was sent to a minority tribe in Xinjiang to help produce a documentary. He was deeply attracted to a girl there. On his way home, he used the local rhythm to create this song. The Chinese name is in the title在那遥远的地方.
