I agree with all of this! We are so overloaded with toxins in today's "technologically advanced" society...it's important to remember to do a total body detox at least 4 times per year.
What's even scarier is that you can simply substitute any industry or group into this and it holds true. Whether it's green energy, auto, health, manufacturing, or other, they all play by the same game book. Just look at the cap and trade lobby, the global warming lobby, etc. etc. Dupont does it, the pharmas do it, they all do it.

It is easier to just let the consumer get cancer and then realize it is harmful. Then they can choose to not buy that product in their dying days. We do not want the government to actually know or care about what chemicals or genetic changes are being added to our natural food supply. Just let the companies experiement in the "FREE MARKET" and when large enough quantities of people get cancer that layman can finally trace it back to a product, then they too can choose to buy other products.
If you don't want these chemicals just don't buy products that contains these chemicals. Just know that there is no guarantee that the replacement chemical or the complete removal of the chemical is better.
Leave the decision making to the consumers, not the GOVERNMENT! If government starts banning these chemical there'll be no end to it, because every chemical is potentially dangerous.
What a massive crock of shit, this whole video preys on the fact people have no idea about chemical safety and have an automatic fear of man made chemicals. The ones utilised in this video for eg perfluorooctanoic acid - possible carcinogenic, low sperm count. The word possible is a bit of a giveaway but also these kind of warnings mean that in a REAL dosage level it MAY cause this effect. The acidity of the rain water you drink is going to cause you more trouble than most of these chemicals.
To me, it's all about consumer awareness and education. I believe in free enterprise, but want the opportunity to be an informed consumer about the purchasing decisions I make, and the awareness portion of this equation is the responsibility of companies that produce products. That way the consumer can assess and assume my his/her risks. The choice should be made by consumers -- they have the buying power, and have more control and power than they often realize.
To all you idiots comparing these chemicals with random crap; you're points are meaningless. @TheTrueSong Did you realize tap water contain ppm levels of highly toxic heavy metals like lead, cadmium, and mercury? So why don't we ban tap water? Oh did you also know that banana contains high levels of potassium-40, which is radioactive? Jeez.
Harmful chemicals are present EVERYWHERE, it's the AMOUNT that matters. The chemicals in the video are present in such small amounts that if you're gonna worry about them, then you might as well stop drinking water or eating bananas.
i heard Northamericans are being dumbed down by fluorine in water, also FYI is not a essential element, they lie to you telling is for your teeth, topic aplication of fluorine in teeth is more efective for that, in water it goes first to all other organs ,brain included.
Liar liar your pants on fire!!! this is a lie the chenicals we use are made to make life easier and longer if used properly unless you are a jerk this video is pointless. The chemicals cause less damage than the good they create. Nobody is trying to kill you.
@colinprprpr , when it's spray lands on you fingers, dishes and food in your kitchen. man! you don't think to hard, now do you? or your a PR shill for the chemical corporations? I hope that's not true and you're just stupid.
@goodword911 Do u realize what is in window cleaner? Its something with a relatively weak pH... its pH is around 11-12... And just so u know, i have wiped something with ph14 on my hand which is oh... 100-1000 times stronger? Also when a basic solution is left open, it will deteriorate very quickly due to reactions with air? And no im a 16 year old kid who happens to know more chemistry then you... Just dont drink or inhale alot of it, and ur fine
What's baffling to me, and apparently wasted on the makers of this highly condescending video, is that it is not at all obvious what ought to be constitutive of "highly toxic" in nature or otherwise. I mean, going on a walk in the woods can be highly toxic as well, yet that does not mean that in some real way doing so in not beneficial. Certainly there needs to be more oversight of poorly understood chemical agents, but demonizing industry in general is neither helpful or even intelligible.
@BandofSorensons I totally agree. Demonizing is definitely the right word for what this video did. When the intentions of becoming more environmentally friendly end up driving messages like this, it makes those who are skeptical all too ready to jump on us for our "bad arguments" when really, the truth is just being presented badly. Toxicity can't be a cover-all word, nor can all the industry be generalized to... mobsters? I'm not even sure what this cartoon was trying to emulate.
i dont know about the rest of you but eh....my life is much better because of these toxic chemicals. fuck you all who feel differently, if you dont like it, dont buy it.
whats thatt bill? Oh, some more bored Americans protesting about things that shouldnt matter? Oh chemicals? uhhg. almost worse than anti abortion protesters.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at our economy numbskulls. we are in so deep and this is what you worry about?! ahhh! I dont know whether to laugh or cry!
Define "in deep"- The United States of America's piss poor economy.
@freakin1random yes, lead in toy trains is real. There was a recall of similar toys in 2007 because there was lead in the paint. We didn't make that up.
Chemistry is the [literal] lifeblood of the biosphere! We cannot live without it...because as van Helmont wrote some few hundred years ago: "All life is chemistry". What should matter to us in terms of safety and ecological damage, thus, must be based on the evidence, not scaremongering--as the cartoon unfortunately depicts.
@CathySander Thank you for being a voice of reason. I completely agree. Both safety and ecological damage as you said are worthy causes and the real focus of 'the green movement.' There's no reason to compromise either and to destroy capitalism or whatever people think we're trying to do. It's simply about promoting life, whether it's ours or the Earth's.
I suppose these cartoons appeal to those who know nothing about chemistry and are willing to throw their support behind legislation they know nothing about based upon an evil talking lead train.
@tabarnhart The cheapest method to go green with cleaners, is applying more elbow grease. Why use a dishwashing machine when you can do it faster by hand with just a wet sponge (why do people soak dishes in a full tub of water) and some rinse water?
@ISamuelII Exactly! We don't use our dishwasher anymore. Depending on how dirty your dishes are, you don't even need soap. Just hot water will do. If you do need soap, there are plenty of environmentally friendly soaps on the market.
Oh please I've been using dishwasher soaps ALL the time when cleaning dishes and STILL don't get sick... It's just government propoganda that want's us to stay clean then people will have WEAKER immunity to chemicals then the government will send in their own toxic brew like the H1N1 and we'll be "buying a cure" to it... Just wash your hands once done with the "toxic chems" and you'll be happy.
@tabarnhart Yeah be aware of what you buy. Then we forced them to lable what it is. Still they try to get around those safety concerns some willie ninnies have.
Those foam pads were great! We'd stack four up on top of each other and we could jump on them from any height and be confident we would hit a soft spot. Then they lit a small corner of one that was torn off. Talk about flamable, that thing could launch a rocket packed up right. HEY it does!
Cool spoof. They didn't mention toluene, a product that I was exposed to that harmed me greatly. Toluene has been banned in most European consumer prodcuts.
At the very least we need much stronger labeling laws in the US.
lol congress is considering the reforms. LOL you mean, liberals will propose reforms to save lives and conservatives will vote NO across party lines to keep chem companies rich!
Well we can say no to the chemicals and say hello to bacteria :P I guess most stuff that is supposed to kill microbes will have an affect on any live organism. So we have to manufacture something so specific that it only effects what we want it to. Unless we just use natural soap or something (maybe not that effective). However everything has its negative and positive effects and its up to us to decide which is most suited for our lifestyles.
YES we need to put a STOP to using these chemicals. But with NAFTA and GAT. WE import more dangerous Chemicals then these from China. And we have to do this because of Clinton & Gore's Deals. We must import there damaging products without any supervision. THEY have no FDA... Best thing to do is do not buy unless its made in AMERICA and only if the product is free from these chemicals.... If you do this simple thing within just weeks they wont put it into the products any longer!!!!
Yea like corporations sit around and scheme about deceiving the public and lobby politicians to pass useless legislation that doesn't do any thing. Maybe in cartoon land.
Warning the comment you just read is known to the state of California to cause cancer.
Oh no! Now u must take out the fluoride in my water, Mercury in my MMR vaccine. I agree with the points in this video but it feels waaay too much like propaganda, go easy will yah.
@blarginatorisback First you get more Mercury from eating a can of tuna than a vaccine shot but more importantly second they already took the Mercury OUT!
You watch the next thing you know, there will be things like garden fertilizer and other useful non toxic items banned that are needed by man kind to be able to break free of the "mans" grip on us. Ya got to be very careful when the government tries to pass any kind of "CONTROL ACT"
Sorry man, but that "bill" or "law" won't go into effect... The chemicals have been in our systems for I don't know ever since a object of it have been made... And I don't see no proof that it'll cause cancer or early puberty type thing nor less sperm count... I have some non-stick frying pans and house hold cleaners and NO EFFECT on ME what so ever!! It's just a scam for the fat cats to make us dirty or something.
I tell you what: you really got TALENT. When Pixar does a new fully-animated movie (like that one with the cars) they should employ YOU. Love the voices...
Im sure that this is really gonna help, watch potassium nitrate end up on that list and all of a sudden black dot and simular companies all go belly up! All we need is less government and more education, because if you are educated about these toxins you wont use them.
I don't understand people who minimize the problem. No, we did not get immune to the toxins. They acummulate and interact with each other in our bodies. 1 in every 3 persons is now dying of cancer, do you find that normal? I remember 20 something years ago when I was a kid, we'd hear a few stories of people with cancer and it would feel so distant and scary - nowadays I've had at least 7 people in my family with some kind of cancer. And u still believe these chemicals are not causing any harm?
Even better....this video was not only created on a computer, but uploaded using a computer...more than likely a computer containing: bromine, cadmium, lead, mercury, chromium, and pvc...................hypocrisy fail
no offence to this viedo, it does pose some good point's and it does just show few of the many product's containing toxic chemicals. However almost everything cause's cancer. eg coke cause's lower sperm count, pot noodle's can cause cancer, asbestos too. Also most of these dangerous chemical's are naturally ocuring eg asbestos, formaldehyde and even if man didnt use these, it is so abumdent we couldnt even avoid contact to the vapour in formaldehyde and the fiber's in asbestos.
this video makes me want to drink the carpet cleaner, eat a smart phone, give a baby the dangerous baby bottle, and play with some lead toys while sitting in the chair. Thanks,
Manufacturers of products have been dumping poisons in our systems for decades and still do and they are helped by allied agencies who get money to do it. Congress is suck-ass and don't give a crap, same as the white-house. They will continue to do it because they can. Laws/treaties are being passed without us to insure that we will have no recourse in this matter. You are screwed-we are screwed. That is the way it is.
Do an online search to find the Prison Planet forum page entitled "John Erb Sent to Psyche Ward" and discover what happened when this courageous man proclaimed his side of the fence documented in his informative text "slow poisoning of America."
@shadowhunter45s Flame retardants can be present in any phone, but please note that some companies have taken steps to remove them. Check out the Greenpeace Guide to Electronics for more information.
But I'm wondering now, like the fake c02 tax here in Kanada, how they will turn something like this against the consumer, for, you guessed it.........gouge and screw......... more taxes.
Flouride makes you submissive an stupid, thankyou Nazi mind control program for helping our govts to keep us happy an dumb. No proof that it helps your teeth..... at all
@canadian7233: I don't think so. Fluoride ions do not make a person go mad...but propaganda and false information can. We are chemistry in action, and we can't forget that.
As for the claim about fluoride not protecting your teeth...I would like to suggest a video from the Periodic Table of Videos called "Fluorine (new)" on Youtube. If you're still not sure, you can ask there.
@CathySander it comes from the manufacturing of aluminium. Yes when its administered to humans at the correct ppm it has little to no side effects. But our water is 300% over the safe ppm. It can cause neuron damage and decreases nerve impulses in the brain. Was classified in 1950's as a neurotoxin
@CathySander the evidence is everywhere. Also flouride stops working on your teeth after you have adult teeth. But a direct source of that info is Jim Marrs book, The Rise of the Fourth Riech. Its all written from legit reports, really good book.
this is stupid if we had been using this stuff for years we have prbly developed so many immunities that it would not do much to us i mean those are things that could happen but most likely they are putting the worst things to happen but not the most likely things to happen
Your immune system defends your body from viruses. Basically your white blood cells try to figure out the right combo to eliminate it, once it has found the correct match to the Virus' attachment sites, it acts as a kamikaze and takes out the virus along with it. After that it keeps that combo in memory so if the same virus enters the body again, it can quickly produce the right combo and eliminate the threat. Your immune system cannot eliminate chemicals.
@jsrfsongwizard: That's true. But it would be an oversimplification that it does not remove chemicals, since viruses are made up of chemicals. Our immune system is quite selective in sorts of chemicals it removes from the body.
@pinpon225 Many of the chemicals of concern disrupt hormones, which can lead to permanent reproductive changes and increase risks of problems like infertility, early puberty, breast cancer, and prostate cancer. Immunity from chemicals that mimic hormones is not possible.
@SaferChemicals ",,, Many of the chemicals of concern disrupt,,, "
Many of the chemicals of concern disrupt - Living things -
If I were in charge, I make it mandatory, you can do whatever you want with whatever you want to with, but NOTHING leaves your box of property, in the ground water, the trash heap, or into the air, NOTHING can leave your premises what it is you do.
@SaferChemicals also, the cosmetics industry should be represented here as well. Studies show that teens have an average of 13 hormone altering chemicals in them, ALL are found in cosmetics & personal care products.
@pinpon225 Um, cancer is rampant, have u noticed? Chems are everywhere, from the clothing you wear to the foods you eat. There's no immunity to these chems. The human body is not that fast to adapt to foreign substances that haven't even been around that long for a natural adaptation to occur, if that is even possible. It's just not the way this works. We are basically lab rats, and the frightening consequences of it are piling up.
@pinpon225 immunities are built up after several hundred generations, immunities are not something that are simply "switched on". Yes these chemicals are probably toxic if there is prolonged exposure though every element/ compound on earth is to human if it is in excess in our system
@DYSA25: You almost got it. The first rule of toxicology is that the dose makes the poison! Every chemical is poisonous in high enough concentrations...but are people really that stupid to add so much bad stuff to everything that we use?
@pinpon225 WITH a cancer rate of 1/3 in toronto canada and proly same in all major cities, you have to wonder why. read the CODEX ALIMENTARIUS page at DOLLARPAGES [] ORG you will learn hoe FREEMASONS are trying to bring back 7 *POPS* {persistent organic polutants} these are chemicals that all countries agreed to never produce because of their toxicity and they don't really break down. All us candidates are freemasons
Hope people are researching these claims and double checking it before believing it is true.. that's the only way to be sure :D
use your head people, also do a lot of research..bye.
I dont believe these videos anymore.. i see 1 then some1 debunks it.. i see another then a news article debunks it..now i see another and i'm just tired of the back and forth nonsense...
What a beautiful piece of propaganda designed to give an uneducated viewer a general dislike of chemicals, as well as companies whos products contain them, especially chemicals with long names... Lead can have adverse side-effects, but there has to be a certain amount of lead to effect you at all... Womens' lipstick has contains lead... but how many women do you know that got lead poisining from lipstick?
It's not the chemical that makes something toxic, it's how it's used and the amount...
If you could stay at home and work from your computer and make $200 to $5,000 per day, would that interest you? And what if this was much easier then you think it is, because there is a secret for you to learn and follow that would be like your own "cheat sheet" for trading Oil? Would you be interested? If so Google my website "Oil Trading Academy" or visit my profile for the link, and I'll show you how you can easily trade Oil and make great money everyday.

This industry, like many others based solely on greed with no concern for life, will implode on their own but it excites me to know we can help hasten their demise. Between big pharma and chemical companies, their products have essentially caused genocide. Unfortunately, as George Carlin once said: "It's a big club and you don't belong," Legal means is inefficient and we certainly can't rely on the paid puppets who pretend to be statesmen to do anything that might lessen their bottom line.
@brightsorcerer: That's a good example of over-generalisation. It's easy to claim that all of these businesses are conspiring to harm us...but where's the evidence for this?
[I am, though, concerned about the ineffectiveness of legislation, in regulating chemical use--especially when they cause environmental and health problems.]
First, all of these occur naturally more than in anything we consume, secondly ... more legislation? Really? Have people completely lost their minds?

@goodword911 Do u realize what is in window cleaner? Its something with a relatively weak pH... its pH is around 11-12... And just so u know, i have wiped something with ph14 on my hand which is oh... 100-1000 times stronger? Also when a basic solution is left open, it will deteriorate very quickly due to reactions with air? And no im a 16 year old kid who happens to know more chemistry then you...
BandofSorensons 1 year ago
@BandofSorensons I totally agree. Demonizing is definitely the right word for what this video did. When the intentions of becoming more environmentally friendly end up driving messages like this, it makes those who are skeptical all too ready to jump on us for our "bad arguments" when really, the truth is just being presented badly. Toxicity can't be a cover-all word, nor can all the industry be generalized to... mobsters? I'm not even sure what this cartoon was trying to emulate.

CathySander 1 year ago 3
@CathySander You are so right!
BandofSorensons 1 year ago
@CathySander Thank you for being a voice of reason. I completely agree. Both safety and ecological damage as you said are worthy causes and the real focus of 'the green movement.' There's no reason to compromise either and to destroy capitalism or whatever people think we're trying to do. It's simply about promoting life, whether it's ours or the Earth's.

@tabarnhart The cheapest method to go green with cleaners, is applying more elbow grease. Why use a dishwashing machine when you can do it faster by hand with just a wet sponge (why do people soak dishes in a full tub of water) and some rinse water?
ISamuelII 1 year ago
@ISamuelII Exactly! We don't use our dishwasher anymore. Depending on how dirty your dishes are, you don't even need soap. Just hot water will do. If you do need soap, there are plenty of environmentally friendly soaps on the market.
purplemutantas 1 year ago
@purplemutantas
KnightKiller1000 1 year ago
@tabarnhart Yeah be aware of what you buy. Then we forced them to lable what it is. Still they try to get around those safety concerns some willie ninnies have.
Those foam pads were great! We'd stack four up on top of each other and we could jump on them from any height and be confident we would hit a soft spot. Then they lit a small corner of one that was torn off. Talk about flamable, that thing could launch a rocket packed up right. HEY it does!

david102994 1 year ago 2
Well we can say no to the chemicals and say hello to bacteria :P I guess most stuff that is supposed to kill microbes will have an affect on any live organism. So we have to manufacture something so specific that it only effects what we want it to. Unless we just use natural soap or something (maybe not that effective). However everything has its negative and positive effects and its up to us to decide which is most suited for our lifestyles.
1ceT 1 year ago
YES we need to put a STOP to using these chemicals. But with NAFTA and GAT. WE import more dangerous Chemicals then these from China. And we have to do this because of Clinton & Gore's Deals. We must import there damaging products without any supervision. THEY have no FDA... Best thing to do is do not buy unless its made in AMERICA and only if the product is free from these chemicals.... If you do this simple thing within just weeks they wont put it into the products any longer!!!!

CathySander 1 year ago
@CathySander it comes from the manufacturing of aluminium. Yes when its administered to humans at the correct ppm it has little to no side effects. But our water is 300% over the safe ppm. It can cause neuron damage and decreases nerve impulses in the brain. Was classified in 1950's as a neurotoxin

this is stupid if we had been using this stuff for years we have prbly developed so many immunities that it would not do much to us i mean those are things that could happen but most likely they are putting the worst things to happen but not the most likely things to happen
pinpon225 1 year ago
@pinpon225 I don't think that's how immunity works.
OverlappingElvis 1 year ago
@pinpon225
Your immune system cannot eliminate chemicals.
jsrfsongwizard 1 year ago
@jsrfsongwizard: That's true. But it would be an oversimplification that it does not remove chemicals, since viruses are made up of chemicals. Our immune system is quite selective in sorts of chemicals it removes from the body.
CathySander 1 year ago

@pinpon225 Um, cancer is rampant, have u noticed? Chems are everywhere, from the clothing you wear to the foods you eat. There's no immunity to these chems. The human body is not that fast to adapt to foreign substances that haven't even been around that long for a natural adaptation to occur, if that is even possible. It's just not the way this works.
