@SovietUnion100 You use the bombsight controlls: Sight Altitude and i think horizontal controll. My gaming-computer blew up a few hours ago so I can't get the exact names :(

@jxvwp whatever you have set as the Sight Control and Sight Alttitude is what you use to steer the missile.

me i do it you had to go verticaly extend airbrake and slowly but carefully land if you are at 100 youre landing speed must be 30km/h in negative

Not true -

You vertical speed must be no more then 5 meters per second.Anything more then that and you'll bounce back in the air-..anything MUCH more then that and you'll break the gears, crash or explode

Lol it's really easy.. Done it with my keyboard.. Sure I was continuius pressing + and - for compensating.. But main thing is, make it slow.. slow enough to make you fall asleep.. Almost atleast :P

Ok I'll be your God

You will touchdown with your throttle between 46% and 48%. (46% is a mild descent, and 48% is almost perfect hover/bouyoncy.

You will need to switch between 46 and 48% and touchdown at no more then 5m/s descent rate. Use the variometer and sonic alitmeter to help you.

ok - briefly:

1) approach base flying level,.. at around 200km/h and 50-100m AGL hit the dive brakes.

2) Go vertical and reduce throttle to 48%, -

3) gradually descent SLOWLY. use the stick to auto level

Some of these designs definitely look a lot more inspired than modern jet/heli designs.

But I guess at some point you have to ditch the really awsome Da Vinci style designs for more boring but effective styles.

Landing the Lerche must be hard ;)

If you have IL-2 1946 there are X-4 missiles which are guidable using the bombsite controls :)
