from what im guessing(and this is pure speculation but based in some what truthful tales) kraid was planned to have been in metroid prime in the same place where the omega pirate is or which ever one u get the phazon suit from, but they replaced him with the omega pirate to fit the story bettter. and this is the best song in the metroid series and i think they could've atleast used it for the omega pirate fight am i right?

Kraid was going to be in the Phazon mines in the first Prime, they just didn't have time to put him in because of the deadline Nintendo put on them. Ridley has legitimate stories behind his returns also, look up the Metroid wiki.

Phantoon is also part of the statue in Super Metroid, along with Ridley and Kraid, meaning it is probably a space pirate commander. That alone stands in favor of my argument, yours is just a guess. The wiki also refers to Phantoon as a singular being, you must not have read it closely enough.

the thorns on his belly would home in on samus

he would use claw swipes an dmove around the place very slowly.
