  • haha the illithid is amazing <3

  • dude! awesome!

  • I made a Samurai Mind Flayer, best waste of an insanely high int score ever. I got to end all the fights with, "I eat his Brain!"

  • I killed a man for this tie

  • like a hug for your nose

  • I specialize... in odors...

  • These vids are so awesome!

  • -BLLBLLBLLBLLBLLBLLBLLBLLBLLBLLBLLBLLBLL-

  • thumbs up if you want the mind flayer (illithids) to become a new race in players handbook 4 :D

  • @feitur No thanks.

It's bad enough *tieflings* have become a 'common' PC race. We don't need illithids.

(look, in my opinion, if you can come up with a decent reason to play a character of unsual race and can play it well, then fine, go ahead. But you don't see tiefling adventurers or illithid adventurers very often for a REASON.)

  • 5 stars just for the G. cube.

  • this is funny hahahahahaha

  • Stephen seems to write his name well for a gel cube

  • whatta hell the the dwarf say? i cant understand !@#%¨@

  • But, you can't eat a Gelatinous Cube's brain... cuz it's mindless.

    Mindless but with exquisite penmanship.

  • awesome :P

  • WAAAAAH UR GAEM SUKS

NO WAI MY GAM RULS YORUS SUCKS.

Guys seriously. These games are meant to be fun. Everyone nerdraging about which edition is better or worse is pointless. I like 3.5. My party likes 3rd. Some of you like 4th and some of you still like the older editions. So what?

I'm not saying a debate on what you consider unfun about xth edition is out of bounds, but seriously. Some of you need to shut the fuck up.

TL;DR Moron tries talking logic on youtube.

  • i cant find theses on the animators website... wher can i see them all? ive found 3 so far

  • The troglodyte has put on some weight since 3.5.....

  • wasn't that an umber-hulk? (despite the description)

  • @gagnashdiak Nah, that looks exactly like the 4.0 trog mini I have.

  • @gagnashdiak Looked more like a trog to me.

  • Stephen the gelatinous cube has such lovely hand-writing.

lol, I can't even write in cursive.

  • 2E all the way all other versions are just milked down versions and 4E I might as well be playing World of Warcraft.

  • My group plays 3.5 and it's awesome. I hate how they got rid of Lawful Evil and Chaotic Good. And Bards. Chaotic Good Bards are the greatest thing a player can be, and now they can't.

  • They did bring Bard back for 4.0, but I still agree with you. 3.5 is by far a superior system to use. Sure 4.0 is simple, but you get no real freedom with what your character can do, your stuck in an archetype and cant get out.

  • i miss chaotic good..well not really cause i play 3.5 still lol

  • I personally preferred 3.5 because i could customize my character in a wide variety of ways that are no longer available. I will admit that if one intends to give their character an ungodly high dps it is fairly easy to do so. However I have yet to see a character that was so rigged that he could not be defeated by a creative dm. 4.0 is a simplified version. It is much more structured and not as flexible. I don't see it as a replacement but rather an alternate style of playing.

  • I love the Troglodyte's voice!

And from what little I've read about Mind Flayers (Forgotten Realms books and what-not), they seem frighteningly over-powered.

  • Their race's history explains it all. They have to be over-powered because they are the culmination of evolution. Their species came from the future, more specifically the end of time itself.

  • 4th edition is balanced. And for most people, that is a good thing. However, i prefer imbalanced rules. I like things to "go with the flow" kinda thing.

My group house rule pretty much everything in 3.5. We use what works and the basic structure of the game, but if someone wants to do something and give a good RP reason why there character can/would do such a thing, then all i can say is "Why the hell not?"

So long as it is fun and everyone has a turn, then all is well.

  • well, one thing I like about 4.0 is that everytyhing is balanced out, and there's no real God-Moding. Had a guy try in one campaign by making a war-forged, and using plating only availible in 3.5.

  • Plus, mindflayer babes are hot.

  • 3.0 and 3.5 are meant to be exploited. 4th edition is smooth and balanced. Anyone that says otherwise is just pissed that they can't kill stuff in 2 hits

  • Meh, they ruined the game way back in 89.

  • why it was the last edition of the real dungeons and dragons

  • <3 u Brandz771 theres no more RP in D&D. That's what made it so fun.

  • thank you .

  • I find the 4th edition backlash/nerdrage hilarious considering a lot of people hated 3rd edition when it first came out now everyone seems to love it despite the hundreds of useless supplement books and limited number of good adventures that are out for it.

I still mainly use 3.5 but we only get to play once every fortnight and we spend most of the time arguing over the mechanics of trip attacks, grapple etc. 4th edition seems a lot less mechanical than 3.5 imo.

  • Simple solution: Don't trip or grapple.

  • OriginalNeomoon. Even simpler, don't use those rules.

  • Wouldn't that be the same as not tripping or grappling? Or are you attempting to say that one should not use the 3.5 ruleset.

  • Use the rules that help game play, and ditch the ones that don't. D&D's strongest point is that it is the "first language" of most role players. It's not necessarily the best ruleset though. If a particular rule sucks I make up one, or borrow one that doesn't. Players should be able to do anything within reason, and not have the rules hold them back, so I wouldn't advocate saying the players couldn't do something, because the given rules for that thing suck. Just an opinion.

  • Just from glancing at the 4th edition books and taking a moment to soak it up, First glance looks like wow. Seems that Wizards is trying to cash in on the look of wow and its popularity. Just my thoughts. $th is where i stopped purchasing books. Ill play AD&D, 3rd, or 3.5 and stick with the good stuff i guess.

Gygax is probably rolling in his grave

  • This is so funny ,though 3.5 rocks 4.0 is for the noobs

  • man I wish I could hire that cube it'd be great in the workplace

  • 3.5 is AWESOME, 4.0 got rid of all the best alingments.

Plus druids OWN and so does stormwrack.

  • Yeah but was there REALLY any difference between Neutral Good and Chaotic Good? And did anyone ever play Chaotic Neutral?

The only one I'll miss is Lawful Neutral and that's covererd under Unaligned.

  • 3.5 !

  • 3.5 owns, 4th edition sucks. It killed off the lore.

  • I hate limies

  • i am not from england you know despite the fact that i have the proficiency of michigan the last time i watched an english lesson was long ago and you know sth else that my language was spoken when your ancestors were climbing in the woods

  • Said the person who cannot even speak with proper grammar...

  • I'm a monster, ROAR

  • Agreed... but they can make a good brew.

  • what is brew?

  • mind flayers are my favorite monster...i'm dissapointed by new edition.

  • could u pls upload another video with subtitles i would really appreciate it

  • i like mind flayer's style and i hope they will be available to players soon and not like in the 3.5 edition with a level adjustment+7

  • "I had a protein shake before I came here."

  • xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • psionics ftw!

  • This made me laugh hella hard.

    I want a mindflayer.

  • Raise Dead ritual. Works like a charm, I mean, even a level 9 Dwarf Rogue can learn how to resurrect others. Problem is that it starts costing 5000g just in materials by the time you reach Paragon Path. Damn Kensei Fighters who insist on using Cloth Armor for roleplaying reasons...

  • Actually they FAQ'ed it to be 50gp for Heroic, 500 for Paragon, and 5000 for Epic tiers respectively.

Felt that I needed share my D&D Nerd-Fu.

  • I must ask... Where exactly is this "FAQ" that you mentioned which documents this particular update to Raise Dead?

  • It's wanderful!

  • I think I interviewed for the thrall position before. Right now I'm hoping for an opening as a familiar.

  • i graduated fourth in the meat shield institute!!!!!!!!

  • "dessert"

  • LOL

Love it when he stamps Thrall on the cube after it eats the annoying gnome :P

  • Exactly how a Mindflayer should sound like! And the troll? (4th is an improvement at least art wise) Why does it sound like Sauron?

    uh... I know... HTML!

  • Go to the Dragon tab, then put your cursor over columns. Cartoons is one of the options.

  • NOOO GILATINIS CUBE IS DESSERT :*(

  • Haha, I like the gnome, he rules.

  • Mind flayers are my favourite race. Thx GG!

  • I looked to the left o' me! Looked to the right, raised the giant severed arm and said, "Let's go to work!"

  • the Dwarf owns lol

  • i never really did like the mindflayer tht much

but i really do like this vid, its some funny shit ^^

  • lol, spam

  • Does anybody know how many total cartoons were (or are) being made in this series? So far I've only seen 3.

  • You can find all 4 (including the recently released cartoon with the Red Dragon) on Wizards of the Coasts main website under the Dragon section.

  • lol lisen carefully at the 1:50 mark XD

  • What's the second thing that cube ate?

  • A bowl of fruit? XD

  • Oh OK that's "Thrall" in fact XD

  • Thrall is another word for Slave ^^

  • What does "Thrail" mean ?

  • Slave

  • LOL

The gelatinous cube's name is Stephen!

    Ahahahahahahah!

  • Much funnier than the Gnome& Tiefling one. Unlike most fart jokes, this one is actually funny. I guess I really like it because it applies to 3.X just as easily....

  • riiiiiiiight............*slurp slurp sluuuurp*

  • the dwarf reminds me of Mr T, lol

  • the sound just needs some balancing out and thats it. Awesome animation

  • Amazing work as always Adam, I'm just dissapointed in the Audio, the quality just doesn't stand up to the quality of your animation, and why is the damn dialouge quiter than the obnoxious music.

  • slash the part of the music, still the audio wasn't very good still.

  • Dessert. LOL

  • LOL the gnome, "Ima a monster, Roar!"...wait, i thought the Tiefling took care of him...

  • Hey Kids. Does reading a book hurt your head? Do your fellow players hate it when you try to trip/grapple with your monk and you spend 30 minutes reading the 3.5 PHB to figure out how you do it? Does the idea of being able to play a warforged ninja/pirate who rides a dinosaur make you want to pee your pants? Well we have a game for you. Introducing 4th edition. We made it simple by taking out all the hard stuff like prestige classes and fun.

4th ed. It's like trick or treat. But all treats! :-)

  • Adam Phillips is awesome, however I'm not into DnD.

  • The G. Cube was added cuz of the humour, we gamers al know G. Cubes are the ultimate predator. With that lemon lime flavour...

  • And it's high in calcium, depending upon what it's eaten recently.

  • And you can use it as window caulk.

  • lol this is definitely the best one!

  • I'm disappointed that the writer didn't do something with the fact that the Mindflayer can't do either with the cube.

  • This is amazing! I love these cartoons!

  • Anyone notice that Stephen the gelatinous Cube as excellent hand writing. Is it me or is the Derek the troll and Jeremy the troglodyte, representatives of the gamers?

  • Yea I remember the last time I regenerated and killed a guy for his tie.

  • Hey, I am a gamer, I love DnD, I went to see the damn movie....twice for some god awful reason. I am just pointing out the fact that the 'troll' knows html, and that the Trog (a horrible smelling underground cave dweller) happens to sound like a sterotypical socal reject. Maybe one that hangs around the game store, you know the guy, over weight, wears a backwards hat 'knows three froms of martal arts' if you aren't friends with one, the you know of one that's the trog.

  • I still prefer the T&G, but this got pretty good at times. Like "I'm sorry, but what's your will defense? I don't see it here." SUPER "Right." THRALL. The gelatinous cube being reclassified was also good. :-D

  • Well, and the only thing that comment managed to do was to prove that critizism doesn't pay (although I respect your effort)... Especially not on an Adam Phillips + D&D vid.

  • No drow???

  • Where can i get the "im a monster rarrr" soundbyte?

  • *slurpslurpslurp*

  • ...covered in baking soda, and there's no way I'm going in there without a torch I tell you!

  • Eh, I like this one pretty good, but the gnome and the tiefling is much funnier.

  • lmao the dwarf rocks

  • I looked to the left o' me! Looked to the right, raised the giant severed arm and said, "Let's go to work!"

  • Mind flayers can talk?

  • yeah their intelligence is really high.

  • Some people think they should only talk through telepathy. Doesn't matter to me.

  • When you eat brains for a living, you get to do a lot of fun things.

  • lol agreed

  • LOL XD

  • I like the Gnomes interview better

  • /STAMP : Thrall

  • I'm a monster! Rawr!
