Great video, I love this story. The film with John Malkovich was great. He sounded like a real retard. Randy Quaid was great to but stuttered too much. I can't wait to see the version starring Lon Chaney Jr (The Wolf Man) and Burgess Meredith (The Penguin).
i kind of understand the title of the book now, George kills the innocent mice((throws them in the woods)) just how he kills Lennie, jsut to get it done with.
worst thing I've ever seen. It doesn't make any sense if its not set by the river bank. And what's with the southern accents?? It's set in California for Chirst's sake. It was so beautifully done in the most recent version of the film with Sinese and Malcovich.
I'm reading the book in school for my GCSE english unit.1 but i have no idea why George shoots lennie, Can anyone give me any indication as to why George kills Lennie?
he shoots lennie because he knows that if they run away aqain, then lennie is going to make the same mistake over and over again...and hed rather shoot him then let curley shoot him since theyre friends
Actually George shooting Lennie is a reference to Candy's not shooting his own dog. When he says "I shoulda never let strangers shoot my dog," it's referenced in the end. George doesn't want them to kill him, he wants to do it himself.
this whole movie and novel is probably the most often referred to example of foreshadowing in english literature. i think there's about three examples in the film but countless symbols and predictions
True, in the times of the wall street crash, i'm guessing because of edidence in the film, you just got hung, althought i can't seem to rememeber the proper term for it :(
There was no law back then AND there was a Depression going on so Curley could've done WHATEVER HE WANTED to Lennie and no one would care because technically he had the right to... plus, I don't think police were as active back then. To quote what a girl in my English class said "The sheriff is probably some fat ol' guy, sitting in a room all day, eating donuts and coffee."
when i saw this at school the other day i almost cried at the end i just thought it was so sad. during it i thought it was immensely boring but so good at the same time. if that makes sense
hey, i reckon this ending is better than the original film, cos the original film seems a bit rushed and in the original film there wasn't any of Lennie being able to see it, like there was here. Nice work!
Lennie is British?

The title of Mice and men is based on a poem. It means no matter how well thought out some plans are there is always something that can destroy them.

It was done for a directing class, not by experienced directors and actors, with months of production, etc.
It's done pretty good for people who are taking a directing class.
redspikyball15 3 years ago 2
Exactly, it was shot in 2 hours because it was -12F outside.

OUCH, that's cold.
I would much rather fail the class than direct a short film for 2 hours in the freezing cold... Brr...
redspikyball15 3 years ago
That was good. Definitely better than how the actual movie ended.

Also, George wanted to give Lennie a quick, painless death... who knows what Curley would have done to Lennie?
