Impeccable phrasing and interpretation; a finely crafted performance. I have not heard this singer before. The mezzo-soprano voice is much more in the bottom of the register with this song than a contralto voice would be, and thus the timbre is keener.

I think this is the finest performance of this Mahler song I've ever heard on record since Ferrier. What a lovely recording. The audio file sounds as if it originated in a studio recording--it is so wonderfully detailed. I've searched and searched on the various international Amazon sites, and I can't find a commercial CD release containing this. Can the poster of this video provide more information about the details of the recording and its availability commercially? Thanks, Mahlerlieben

Perfection! Mahler, besides being a master of German symphonic poetry, can bring his poetic sensibility to lieder as well. This is music from a dream....sung by a lovely, sensitive artist.
