The comic before me said he is not racist he screwed colored guys. The got up and commented that he was a colored guy. Then I got up there and said, consider me a black MAN. Not colored. Not gay. A black MAN. That was the joke.
Weird...at the beginning all he said was "I'm a comedy guy, but I consider myself a black man" and everyone laughed, whats funny about that? It's not a joke, it's just a statement.
Some of the jokes were funny...though I think I got one that out matches them, from my stand up "It's funny because it's Cannibalism"
"Ladies, the only time the carpet should match the drapes is if you're a cancer patient going through Chemo"
This is just part of the joke, the whole joke won't fit.
I speak about taking care of my elderly mother. No doubt there. I speak about being a first degree black belt working on my second. No doubt there. I speak about having a license to sell real estate. No doubt there. But when I speak about my ability to speak fluent Mandarin, all of a sudden there is doubt. Interesting.
Well, I've seen a couple of videos of mr. Stanfield now. I had to check him out after I heard he could speak Chinese. I don't think he does. All I've heard so far, is that he knows that "ni hao" means "hello, how are you doing". Even I know that much.
Even if I were to speak Chinese. You wouldn't understand it. So, why frustrate my audience. Most people just take my word for it. Comedians are known for their honesty. When I say I am fluent in Mandarin. Most people believe it.
