  • This game sucks ass and you are right it is so unfair.

  • @zzyxyz000062 Yeah this is a real disappointment from Ocean, they made a number of great movie-licenced games but this is a bad one.

  • Great seeing this up again, love this music.

  • @Sernam1000 Yeah it's awesome mate, I love the music in this game.

  • Great music once more, Jonathan Dunn knew how to produce the tunes.

  • @sebastiaaaaaaan419 He sure did mate, his music just excelled, you knew you were in for something special when you found his name doing the music.

  • @sebastiaaaaaaan419 That is one thing actually GOOD about Ocean's games- their music. I liked his composition for Jurassic Park on the SNES, as well as for Jurassic Park II.

  • @MysticArksRevenge Jurassic Park on the Game Boy has some amazing music in it as well. Jon was one of the very best, Renegade III, this and Guerrilla War were all considered poor Ocean games on the ZX Spectrum but all of them shared a redeeming feature - Jonathan Dunn's music.

  • @Otouto72 The same thing goes for the NES version of Jurassic Park.

    I see.

  • Simply brilliant!

  • @FL00PPA Yeah this is fantastic, the game was a miss and all but the music is just excellent.

  • Terrific! Didn't this guy do RoboCop also?

  • @traphos321 Yes he did on the Spectrum, Amstrad, C64 and the Game Boy and maybe the NES version as well but that was one of the greatest tunes in gaming history and he composed it. Great composer, one of my favourites.

  • Hell yeah I remember this on the NES, it was crap and from the comments this appears to be crap also, why was Darkman such a crap game, it was one of the best movies ever.

  • @Rodaso130391 Yeah this isn't good, Ocean released a number of great games on the Spectrum but this was a blank for sure. It's been years from I'd seen the movie but it is highly regarded by many.

  • This is really great - glad to have warmed to Jonathan Dunn's masterpieces

  • @atrumdiabolus Yeah this is superb, I always loved the music in this game, well probably because the game was so crap.

  • @Otouto72 Indeed, the game is crap. Numbers of bullets hit the hero, he loses energy only and kills enemies with just one kick. Funny!

  • @Abrimaal Yep they have weapons but you just use your hands and your feet, it seems very unfair to the player.

  • @Otouto72

If you mean this game, at least in the NES version, Peyton does always have weapons when he's disguised as Skip and Durant. As Skip, you have a huge gun that knocks you back every time you fire it, and as Durant, you have a pistol. And as Pauly and Smiley, you can pick up a limited amount of weapons to throw. With Pauly, you can only pick up 2 rocks, which sucks.

  • @DJCandyManMike Yep in this game he only uses his fists and his feet while they have shooty guns, it's really unbalanced which is largely the reason the Spectrum version fails.

  • @Otouto72

Sounds like the kind of game that would make me want to throw it out the window. To think, the NES version is hard enough and it grants you weapons.

  • @DJCandyManMike Yep Ocean more than usually took care of their Speccy games but this was a misfire.

  • Great music, game was a bust really though, not just on the Spectrum, NES version wasn't very good either.

  • @ceakin84 The game was flat in just about all the systems which is a great shame, Ocean misfired on this one.

  • In the NES game, this song is used in the Durant levels.

  • @DJCandyManMike I've never heard the NES tune during the game (only heard the music on it's own) but I remember vividly watching a gameplay for the Gameboy version and being so surprised to hearing this tune, never expected it to come and it was then that I asked myself "is it in the NES version too?" - yes.

  • @Otouto72

Now that I think of it, I think it's only used once, in stage 5-2. It's a good tune, though, with quite a siniter sound to it.

  • @DJCandyManMike I love this tune, as soon as I heard it I was gripped.

  • Cool music by a cool composer!

  • @markvergeer Yeah Jonathan Dunn is one of my favourite composers, love his music.

  • as soon as I saw Jonathan Dunn's name attached I knew I'd be in a for a great tune

  • @VGMhalloffame Yeah Dunn was just brilliant, he made a lot of great music over the years, this, WEC Le Mans, Guerrilla War and not forgetting Jurassic Park on the Gameboy.

  • @Otouto72 and especially Robocop, Platoon, Operation Wolf and 4channel Chase HQ title - IMO the best of all versions. From other side the greatest sounds of Platoon and Robocop he made on C64.

  • @Abrimaal Yeah Robocop and Chase HQ are just fantastic tunes, Dunn made a number of excellent tunes over the years.

  • @VGMhalloffame Ocean does have great music to their games but they surely do a terrible job in making them.

  • @MysticArksRevenge Ocean had a number of really top quality games on the Spectrum, I grew up with a lot of their games and most of them were really good, but they did fall to pieces in the 16-bit era and all.

  • @Otouto72 Well, it is companies like Ocean, and THQ that make me hate licensed games published and developed by Non-Japanese companies.

  • @MysticArksRevenge Haha yes we've discussed about your hate for big companies and admiration and appreciation for smaller companies, can't argue with that bro. =)

  • @Otouto72 Yep. :D

I feel that Irem should've had the Universal license, then their NAZCA team would've done a Darkman arcade game.

  • @VGMhalloffame Same here! Thanks for the upload Otouto72 as always. :)

  • @DLiberator78 No problem mate. =)

  • The title art is actually pretty damn good for a spectrum game.

  • @citizenhal I don't know who done the loading screen (no initials on it unlike some screens) but Noel Hines done the graphics so it might be him. It's very good given it's a Speccy after all but sometimes the loading screens are mindblowing yet the in-game graphics leave a lot to be desired, Death Stalker strings to mind.

  • The game was total shit, paid £9.99 for it and was left really disappointed in it, always loved the music but the gameplay is what counts and this had none.

  • @kedeuger Thankfully I never bought this back in the day because if I did I would have been disappointed too.

  • Didn't you upload this one already?

  • @wayinau83 Yeah I did but a number of Spectrum music was uploaded using a device that played them in stereo where the Spectrum was not in stereo at all so I'm making ammends and re-uploading them in their original format - as they were when we played the games back in the day. It should have been avoided but I was paying much attention to what I was doing back, the truck was moving but no-one was behind the wheel.

  • @Otouto72 Fair enough :)

  • @wayinau83 I know a lot of people will say "well why bother" or "who cares" but as a perfectionist it really bothers me that a number of these tunes are not as they are supposed to be so for 2012 I aim to put it right.

  • Excellent!

  • @palrido Yeah it's really awesome, Dunn made a lot of great tunes over the years.

  • And sorry my comment's a short one mate I was just testing to see if this was working again, it was glitching up earlier, couldn't comment, rate or check your inbox, looks sorted now. It's a shame this game's a bit crap, this is miles behind Ocean's other classic movie tie-in games.

  • @NRC6791 Glad to hear I wasn't the only one mate, it glitched right after the upload finished and I'm up a new browser now having switched from IE to Firefox and I thought "here we fucking go again!" it was testing my insanity and anxiety to the fucking limit but it's at least for now sorted.

And you're right companed to Ocean's other movie games, in particular RoboCop and Batman The Movie this was well below par and disappointing.

  • @Otouto72 Yeah I caught your bulletin saying that, I gave up on IE a long time ago, Firefox is really good, it has it's flaws but it's much better than IE. If more work was done to this is probably would have been up there with RoboCop and Batman.

  • @NRC6791 It just conked on me and now it doesn't read any sort of Flash player at all. I downloaded Firefox and I must say it's going to take a while to get used to it but my god it is some improvement from IE!

I don't know what it is about this game, it seems to lack inspiration, it doesn't feel right when you play it, didn't get into it at all.

  • Jon Dunn always made good tunes.

  • @NRC6791 Yeah he's one of my favourite composers, his music never fails to amaze me.
