yeah i have to say i had a horrible time doing anything but hovering my CP pro. It's just not a stable heli in forward flight. the tail blade tends to work its way off its shaft in mid flight. and often the whole rear section changes its angle if not glued down. medium to hard landings guaranteed to brake landing skids. electronics are glitchy. ugh i just hated my CP when i took it outside. but i love the CX2 great heli, very reliable.
walkera cb180d if you really want to practice . thats what i did . not saying thats what any one has to do ,, just sayin .. blade cp very funny to hover when you used toa 4 channel fp .. but its fun
If you look really Close youll notice a 180 spin as it takes off fast forward Wasnt Intentional Got Lucky I didnt crash the tail could have ended up in any direction
Yah... I bought one of these for my first Heli... broke $70 worth of rotor blades and several pieces (landing gear and the main chassis piece that the landing gear connects to)... then I tried to super glue to chassis piece and got the tail glued to it on accident.
Yesterday I bought Realflight Basic. Hoping 30 hours on this sim will get me flight worthy at least. :-P
Too Late... My cousin and I got the CP Pro, not as tricked out as I thought but set up for 3D, non sym blades and aluminum boom - (Hated that). this is a very difficult bird. Few times I dumped it so far, but sometimes I'd be doing fine and the boom would get loose - not pretty! I even managed to safely land without a tail rotor helping me at all! Spinning semi-controlled crash LOL! After series of crash/fixes - I've got it hovering decent now,not easy... each successful takeoff/landing = Score!
The CP Pro is a very hard heli to master and many beginners run out of patience and lose interest trying to fly it. If you're a beginner and want to successfully fly helis quickly... go with a Blade CX2 or CX3. Even after mastering the CX, the CP Pro is a whole new learning curve. Good thing is if you can fly the CP Pro, then you can fly just about anything.
I'm hoping the Blade CP is as fun as it looks, and I HOPE the simulator is wrong about one thing: It seems if you have any speed at all and pull back it almost goes vert... like over controlled... Those fancy radios with proportional control seem like they might be a good idea for this bird :)
Dont waste your time on this heli if you want to go cheap but still have something more than a bunch of busted pieces Get a honeybey King 2 or a belt Cp from esky or if you have the money get an Align T Rex The Cp Pro is Rediculous to try and learn on its way too hard for a beginner.
Very true! I found the hard way that the other helicopters you mention are all great first heli choices. What I also discovered is that the CP Pro and similar helis like the Heli-max Axe cpv3 are excellent second helis.
I'm getting one of these today - all tricked out. I only have flown it in the RealFlight G4 and ClearView simulators but I have or have had each CX: 1,2 and 3. I always mod them, I enjoy flying them - but I hate the "Clack of Death" (What I call a blade strike!) I might try to get a longer shaft for my cx3 because I hear it helps with "clack of Death" alot - Cuz the blades are further apart.
This Helicopter will always be hard to hover. the only thing to improve it some will be to get rid of the stock radio equipment and get a spektrum which allows you to soften up the controls with expotential adjustments
to get this heli to go fast forward you have to adjust the servo linkages so that with the radio elevator trim all the way back toward you the heli flys level not moving forward. then when you want to fly forward push the elevator trim forward. the further forward you push the trim lever the faster it will fly forward but you will have to pull back on the stick to slow and stop the heli gradually. Then Reset the trim back again to Land.
ppl... you need to realize this is a hobby-quality aerobatic helicopter, not a toy. It requires some adjustment and some flying experience. If you can not fly circles around the room with a Blade CX2, you aren't ready for this one. The available upgrades will help it perform better, but if you don't have the basic skills, nothing will make it *easier* - get a Blade CX2 if you are new to helicopters.
Heyman good job, i have had my cp since christmas and it was my first collective pitch heli , i can do 3d with mine now , but just make sure you have the 370 brushless motor ,huge difference and vetter inverted flying , later
I had the Brushless motor on it and took it off since the tail would never hold I used a long can motor on it never went as far as a medussa motor or anything theres a limit as to how much I wanted to spend on it. Im happy with my TRex 450 see latest video
did you ever learn how to fly it yet? I bought one for my first and thought it was going to be easy to fly but I was wrong. Ive had mine for six months and dont even know how to do bunny hops yet
ya i learned to fly.. not super well but okay.. its not a begginners chopper so don,t give yourself a hard time it just takes alotta practice.... just keep up with it trust me u,ll get the hang of it TAKE IT EASY DON,T RUSH IT...
i swear man when i first flew it, i loved the sound when its like pheeeoow.. all that air or what ever.WEll i used to do this hobby, but it got way to expensive and i kept crashing, any tips on money or making parts ?
well I learned the hard way buy a Better helicopter from the start buy cheap plan on spending a lot on parts. Ive Moved on to a trex Much better quality can take more of a beating. But much more complex still learning to set it up can fly it ok but a long way to go.
Yeah its the frames per second match the rotor speed to closely. Some of the other videos were taken with a camcorder this was just a digital camera with video capability
thats very good, i have the same one but it has lots of upgades. i am not as good as you because i just started on july 20 2007. i admire your skills. can you give me some tips.
Tips get the head Hold gyro although I wasn't using one in this video Direct Drive tail is what I am using in this video although Ive had trouble lately with them overheating my 3 in 1 controller may be getting weak
took about 2 weeks to stop crashing and take off the training gear but I had a simpler heli to learn on. This video was after 5 or 6 months learning and crashing.

get a t-rex 450. great to learn on after you got the basics with a mini heli. once you can fly the blade cp you can fly just about anything.

That's weird how the shutter kind matched up with the blades and makes it look like they're hardly moving.
