A classical singer must sing the same note ever time; it is not playback. It sounds similar because music never changes, only a musician's interpretatioin. There are rules, which are found in music theory. Are you going to tell an orchestra that their doing playback because they always sound the same?

I totally love Sarah, but I also believe in constructive citicism...a few of her vowels were pinched..but she finished strongly. I very much enjoyed listening and I feel she sounds lovely no matter what she does. I am happy she isn't doing the "o" resonance quite so much these days however, it tended to sound forced and not natural. Love you Sarah, angel of music!

I hate to say it but this really isnt very good. I think its a shame that she doesn't sound anything like what she used to. Obviously i know shes older now, but if these songs are hard for her then she shouldn't sing them anymore there are plenty of other songs she can still sing well.

I'm a casual Broadway fan, and a new Sarah Brightman fan. I know this; Sarah Brightman is the best female vocal I've ever heard. Kerry Ellis is a close second, but they're different performers.
Her voice begets tears whether it's in Phantom or Pia Jesu. ALW wrote his genius music to complement Sarah's brilliant and magnificent voice.

She most certainly does not, at least not by opera standards. She's a good popera singer but I've noticed a lot of people who are hardcore opera lovers like myself dislike her and take great offence when she is called an 'opera singer,' because she is not.

What makes Sarah B.different from other singers is that she is the biggest selling (and lipsynching soprano ) of all times. She lipsynches like no one else does. She always mimmes her tours coz she can't sing live decently. When she sings live though she sounds like crap:

well she's 49 man... u can't expect one at that age to be perfectly consistent... but really this is good already i feel... compared to other artistes whose voices have deteriorated so quickly...

I'm a casual Broadway fan, and a new Sarah Brightman fan. I know this; Sarah Brightman is the best female vocal I've ever heard. Kerry Ellis is a close second, but they're different performers.
Her voice begets tears whether it's in Phantom or Pia Jesu. ALW wrote his genius music to complement Sarah's brilliant and magnificent voice.

I am still astounded at the level of praise this woman gets with a voice sounding like that. The fact is that she never would have gotten any leading roles that made her a star if she wasn't married to ALW. Truth hurts....

She most certainly does not, at least not by opera standards. She's a good popera singer but I've noticed a lot of people who are hardcore opera lovers like myself dislike her and take great offence when she is called an 'opera singer,' because she is not.

are you on crack? you do not know what you are talking about, shes an extrodinary soprano, i go to juliards and i dont know one person that dislike her there. I went to her concert in nyc in nov last year and Renee Fleming and Natalie Dessay were sitting next to me, and i could hear them say wow, so fuck off, cause shes a bomb and live is 100 times more powerfull!

she may have one of the most b.voices and everything but she can't sing live. All of her concert performances are pre-recorded and even her breathing. She lipsynches that good that no one can notice (even fakes her breathing sequences) so that the fiasco may seem more "live"

Yeah, 3 Harem concerts and 2 Symphony concerts. And I have numerous recordings from the Symphony tour that prove she mimes. So don't waste your time. She is lipynching like hell :)

well i love Sarah VERY MUCH really but it is part true..especially the Symphony live in Vienna looks so NOT live :/

she has a really gift from heaven, her voice charms millions of people around the world and she already is considered a legednd of the classical music, maybe she is not an opera singer but she invented her own genre, thats the cause of her succes
she has reached and achieved more than any other singer or celebrity could imagne ever. thats the difference

What makes Sarah B.different from other singers is that she is the biggest selling (and lipsynching soprano ) of all times. She lipsynches like no one else does. She always mimmes her tours coz she can't sing live decently. When she sings live though she sounds like crap:

No, Fleurs Du Mal was right AFTER this performance :D When you remember, in the beginning of Fleurs Du Mal she walks from that point to the Altar and after that, comes Symphony :D
