  • I love you're work, but how would one get concave and kick for the deck? Is it the sMe way you got the camber, or is it completely different

  • at 0:59 you're drilling holes into the wood and I don't know why? can you help me out on that...

  • @IAmCaterpillar Hi!

I drilled the holes in only one of the two plys. I drilled these outside of the outline of the board for when I glued the two plys together. They are just for getting the screws in faster, so you don't HAVE to do it, but it helps :)

  • mute, sorry :(

  • do you fiberglass both sides?

  • what type of wood are you using and how many mm per peice

  • @BoyleTonight Awesome job, I'm trying to do the same as you did.

the only thing you did to curve it and make it concave is the sand bag? did you put it only in that part?

also what kind of wood did you use? when you put the wood together how long did you wait until it dry?

did it break when you use it? tell me please i wanna do one!

    thanks man

  • @BoyleTonight hello I was wondering how long did it take you to make this board and to get the board more stiff do you need to add more plus like 5 and good job and I'm viewing this video on iPod so I can't see any of the annotations you put up

  • @MrCrusiers It didn't take long, and if I had had all the tools and things I needed just when I started, it would go even quicker. Should be done in tops one week :)

I added fiberglass to the bottom and put a weight on the board while glueing the plys together to make it bend.

  • do u put fibre glass on both the sides?

  • @BoyleTonight sorry i know you dont want to answer questions about your longboard but do you put grip tape on it and also do you but any kind of curve or concave in the middle of it just asking sorry to annoy you :D

  • @MorSkyrim Hey :)

Yes, I put griptape on the opposite side of the fiberglass (as you can see me putting on in the video).

You can also clearly see that when I glued the two ply's together, I put a big bag of sand on top to make a curve in it :)

  • what kind of cloth did you use, and where did you get it from?

  • Hi thinking bout building a board but do u put the glass fibre where the bottom of the boatd is or where the grip tape goes and btw isnt glassfibre really dangerous and toxic?

  • And in a KISS shirt, way to go !

  • @DTK1975 Yeah, they are awesome!

  • @BoyleTonight what kind of wood did you use

  • Comment removed

  • thanks! this gave me some great ideas...is yours still holding up?

  • @rinklyfrank Mine's still going strong, but I haven't used it at all this past summer because of an injury :/

  • is plywood durable enough to where it won't snap

  • @RedMixedWithBlue you're going to want to use baltic birch, and from a wood store not home depot. the difference is wood plys rather than filler, the filler is basically sawdust and will make the boards snap and bend too much. i use half inch thick and it works great, i suppose you could go thinner but you'd definitely want fiberglass for that

  • awesome video!!!

    greetinds from Russia)

  • @pironiero Thanks!

  • so stop asking!!!...chill out

  • @MrFrazzle321 Hey MrFrazzle. I would like to chill out, but I keep getting these stupid questions all the time, so I thought I'd make these annotations so they would stop asking. It's not your problem, so it's no wonder you don't sympathize.

Go and build a fort or something.

  • how many ply did u put?

  • Good design, looks like a rayne timeline. I didn't like where you drilled your mounting holes though.

  • You can get 1/4 inch plywood at your local department store for like 20 bucks for a huge sheet. More than enough to make a board.

Gorilla Wood Glue can range from 2.50 for a small bottle to 12 for a huge one.

Fiberglass and Fiberglass Resin together can easily cost around 20 or so dollars.

Sand Paper (Varying Grit) is around 2 bucks for a pack.

As for power tools, I'm assuming you already have them because they are quite pricey.

  • @UncleSamsBurritos Thanks for making it clear to everyone that still, even though I made ceveral annotations in the video saying that I don't know what the stuff costs, asks me what the stuff costs and what type of this and that I used :)

  • @BoyleTonight No problem, I actually made my own board very similar to this method, only I put weights running down the middle so the board curves both horizontally and vertically. The last steps are similar if not identical to yours, good job.

  • What kind of wood is it?

  • what are the exact sizes for width ?

  • if you get the fiberglass on you, use tape to get it out of your skin

  • I LOVE THE DESIGN OF THIS DECK!

  • after putting on the glue and putting the wood together do you straight away bend the piece of wood on the chair

  • How long did this take and what are you taking the fiber glass extra of with.

  • Watch out!! there is a giant spider on your back!

  • what was the first song?

  • i weigh about 160 pounds, will 2 sheets of 1/4th inch plywood and 2 layers of fiberglass be enough??? or should i put another layer of fiberglass on?

  • how did you give the board the concave

  • so does the fiber glass only go on one side?

  • u should have used better wood

  • @rsels14 I don't give a horses testicle what kind of wood I should use, it's up to me and it worked great.

  • @BoyleTonight my wood would destroy your wood

  • @BoyleTonight win!

  • hey is the fiberglass see thu when it dries? cuz i wanna burn a design into mine so i wanna know if i can do it then put the fiberglass over it

  • do you have to put the fiberglass on the bottom and what was the blue liquid you used to apply the fiberglass

  • LOL at the stupid old man flipy floppies and socks

  • What did you use to cut off excess fiberglass cloth

  • how big was it?

  • how much dud all of the suplies cost?

  • What type of wood is it? and how many plys

  • hey i have a few questions

    1. How many ply is your board now 2? or is each of the pieces of wood like a 3 or 4 ply?

    2. Where or what should i search to find the fiberglass sheet that you applied, and also do you apply it to the bottem as well?

THanks for the answers i think im going to build one over the winter.

  • I have a question did you apply the fiberglass to strengthen the board or just give it a shiny finish?

  • @Badasssyndicate To strengthen the board :)

  • Whats that paper like thing you put over the board while applying glass fiber?

  • @LaneTD15 Fiberglass..

  • hey dude is it necesary to apply glass fiber

  • where to buy glassfiber?

  • @jackbonjour At the store.

  • @BoyleTonight like home depot?

  • which side do u put the fibreglass on

  • the weight i used was about 40 kilos is that too much?

  • what is the fiberglass for?

  • its fiberglass not glassfiber -.-

  • so how long did this take you?

  • where do you get the wood?

  • hey dude are the screws just to hold it together while the glue dries

  • whats glassfiber and y u use it

  • dude first of all nice shoes then thanks for the design i am making a longboard in my woodshop class and i am just tryin to find a good deck design

  • what are the names of the songs

    ?

  • 4:10 ...and a mask.

  • what type of glue did you use?

  • @BoyleTonight When you put on the fiberglass, what was the liquid you spread on it?

  • Comment removed

  • @BoyleTonight Hi! I was just wondering what type of wood is it, and how thick is it?

  • @proeysborther I have no idea what type of wood it is and it shouldn't be too thick.

  • @proeysborther it looks like ply wood

  • Respond to this video... where can i get fiber glass and how much is it

  • @proeysborther birch is good

  • finished product?

  • what kind of glue did you use?

  • How did u make the flex, was that the part when u out the bag of rocks when u let it dry?

  • @conno322 Yes, the bag of sand weights it down while the glue dries.

  • you are the gayest person ever

  • @spoofboys97 wow. I mean, this is just confusing and totally stupid. I feel ashamed for you, because this is just totally random. Have a nice day, dude.

  • where did you put the glass fiber?

  • how did you measure out where the holes need to go?

  • what is the stuff you use to add fiberglass

  • how much did it all cost? i want to make one cheap because they're pretty expensive to buy brand new

  • Ohh that's nuts! Great vid, I made a longboard myself but I made mine different and stupid because I used one piece so now it's just a full deck but it's not bendable but it's a nice looking deck though, can I get a more detailed info about the materials? Mahalo's!

  • @TonganNigaz808 Thanks!

Honestly, I don't know more than you know about the materials. I just found the ply in my garage, no idea what kind it is. Used regular wood-glue to glue them together and used resin+hardener on the fiberglass :)

  • what type of sheet did u lay on the fiberglass

  • what type of glue do u use???? gorilla glue? Ass glue? pls respond

  • @MrOoplay77 unicorn glue :)

  • instead of gluing and drilling why dont you just use 7 or 5 ply much easier ?

  • @CrawfosGear No, because the reason I glued two pieces together and weighed it down was to make it bend upwards to hold more weight.

  • i am going to make my first board soon, but i am wondering were you bought the fiberglass stuff

  • did you use a kit for the fiber glass and if you did which one thanks

  • nice socks and sandals

  • hey, im going to try and make my own longboard as well. i was wondering what kind of wood you used, and what ply. i was thinking of getting BALTIC BIRCH PLYWOOD 5/8 X 12 X 60 (11 ply) or BALTIC BIRCH PLYWOOD 1/2S X 12 X 60 (9 ply)

will that work for me, or do i want to buy my peices in individual plys?

any help would be great, thanks! =)

  • @beastlyorion Personally, I have no idea what type of wood is the best type to use. I just used something I found in my garage at the time.. And as you can see, I glued two pieces of ply together, so as long as the two pieces aren't too thick combined, you'll be fine.

  • @BoyleTonight how much did all that cost you?

  • why do you have a spider an you back, it's kind of scary

  • what are the holes for

  • @TheMRrocker7 Are you kidding me? They are for putting flowers in.

  • @BoyleTonight lmfao !!!

  • you use 2 types of glue? witch one?

  • ive never made anything im my life before, other than legos, and i want to know about how long does it take to make a longboard for a begginer, and if I can go to home depot and use the tools they have there to cut out the shape of my board & stuff, thanks!

  • Did you just trace another deck on there? I'm trying to figure out my shape...

Also, did you glass both sides? I couldn't see in the video...

  • what thickness ply did u use?????

  • how did u drill the holes for the trucks so they were sraight

  • hey i build longboards but can never get the holes right fo hountin trucks how did u do it

  • what are u using to attach the fiberglass?????????

  • how much did it cost in all to make yourself? how many hours put into it?

  • what is the point of the fiber glass?

  • @skaterdogz

    To make it stronger ;)

  • can you tell us where you get your materials? (plys, fiberglass :D)

  • @apaneric97 fiber glass risen

  • hey you forget to sand the edges!!!

  • @fredmaniak123 god did it :P

  • what size drill bit did you use to drill the holes?

  • @McCurryBoy Over 9000

  • @McCurryBoy 5/16ths worked for me

  • what kinda wood do you use is it ?

    plywoood

  • how long shud i leave it 2 dry and shud i take off the weights before its done drying?

  • what transparent glue are you putting on around the "white" glue right before you put the wood together?

  • @YoshiMr95 What do you mean? I use tha same, regular wood-glue on all of it :)

  • @BoyleTonight aha, nevermind then :P

  • nice work :P

  • how long did this take?

  • what kind of wood do you use? regular plywood, maple, or like birch or what?

  • is it okay if i take 4 sheets of 1/8 inches of oak wood??

    (sorry for my english)

  • nice shoes babe

  • dont put any fiberglass on the top of the board???????

  • 1) did the board last a long time??/ 2)wat kind of wood did u use???

  • where did u find the fiber glass for the board?

  • @eastbeastbestwest It's usually used for automotive purposes. Auto zone, napa, places like that. It's pretty in-expensive, too

  • i would feel like God if i could beat off that fast hahahahahaha just playin

  • yeah it kinda sucked immensely... it's not very clear to see what your doing. IT SUCKEDDDDD LMAO

  • @zzsketchyzz wow, looks like you didn't get enough sleep last night. I guess your'e just not intelligent enough to understand how to do it, so you have to make a fool out of yourself and say that it sucked :) It's a sad world we live in. Better luck next time, buddy. Keep up the good work! :D

  • @BoyleTonight do you know where i could get the fiberglass, and for the wood would you say that a standard 3 ply of maple would me good thanks

  • @zzsketchyzz agree completely!

  • GAY

  • Looks good

  • what glue you use?

  • You should also wear a mask while sanding fiber glass

  • How much did this cost you all up? What wood where you using?

  • what wood where you using?

  • what glue did you use?

  • what the hell was that. we dont get to see you riding it

  • fannnkyoo verry much :D

  • great video, all i really need to know is what type of wood did you use? also, with the fiber glass, what did you do? ahaha thanks.

  • what wood did u use?

  • okay i was planning on building a longboard. do you have any tips? hints? any nice shapes? please help me...

  • @PsTaco You can search google for Longboard shapes and you can see what you like there. I would say that you need to use enough glue (quite a bit, even more than I used) when you glue the decks together. The wight should be 1/3 of the lenght of the board from the nose of the board (Front <--|----) Back)

USE GLOVES AND LONG SLEEVED SHIRTS WHEN SANDING OFF THE FIBERGLASS!

And apply the fiberglass on the UNDERSIDE of the board.

  • @BoyleTonight thank youuu, for the tips. do you think it would be acheviable for me? me being a semi-handy teenage female?

  • @PsTaco I think you can do it. It's not actually that hard if you just follow the basic steps in this video. Should be able to do it in a weekend if you have everything you need ready and you know what you are going to do!

  • @BoyleTonight thank you for your advice :)

  • @BoyleTonight filter mask wouldn't hurt either I'd bet.

  • do u put fiberglass on both sides of the deck?

  • how long do u leave the weight there and nice socks and sandles with all seriouseness

  • im your 9999 viewer nice job !!

  • @bluepoo18 Awesome, thanks!

  • how long do u leave the weight there for

  • why do u have to glue the decks?

  • why does he get sleight of hand?

  • has it snapped yet ?

  • @xHADERZx Still going strong!

  • how long does this take??

  • yeh great job but i was wondering before and after u put glass fiber on what do u put on the board with a brush? need to know
