  • Beautiful!George Formby would be tickled!

  • this reminds me of the background music on sherlock homes haha

  • very very nice

  • BLOWN AWAY!

I was torn between clicking "like" and leaving a positive comment and hearing the whole thing out... I listened to the whole thing first, afraid that leaving a comment would stop the music before it was over. Brava! Encore une fois!

  • Amazing

  • REALLY NICE AND ORIGINAL.

  • I can't believe you've managed to turn a disco classic into a gypsy waltz, amazing vision. Although I would sing louder if I were you.

  • Do you have any recordings or demos available?

  • wow that's nice

  • yes, this reminds me a lot to Edith Piaf

  • It is only your charm that salvages anything from this.

    Banjo is wrong.

  • @avril2 seriously. this is horrible

  • @thenotoriouspie u are horrible coz u don't understand music"i feel sorry for u an

  • Not only is the performance good, the video composition is phenomenal!

  • Very good, when i heard this version i could feel better my feelings ....

  • It's beautiful

  • Edith Piaf would be proud. All you need is the accordian accompianist along side River Sienne in Paris and you, my friend, would make an easy 100-150 euro an hour just busking.... Go To France and become famous!

  • I hella agree with the accordion and the paris thing. GOGOGO!

  • off kilter, creepy, and even a little sexy

  • ouah!! very beautiful!!!!

  • very nice version!

  • BRAVOOO !!!

  • nice

  • I've played my banjo uke for a little while, and often look on youtube for inspiration. This is by far the best video Ive found. The style of playing, the singing, the song, everything works, and its completley different from anything else on here (youtube) This is what stuff I want to play. This is great. Thankyou.

  • Astonishing. The banjolele and the song together, who knew until you that they could be so bewitching? 5 Stars, favorited, subscribed, all of that.

  • Mp3.....PLEASE!

  • man, i loved that. the ukulele banjo sounded cool with your voice, too.

  • B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L.. I love your version.

  • Haunting. Beautiful. Wow!

FWIW I like the original too, but this version really takes the song to a whole new level.

  • cool

  • I love this. What are the chords?

  • This is a great sound, and a great feel.

  • Beautiful performance and the black and white video really adds to the effect.

  • muito legal!!!

    adorei.

You sing like a angel. Kisses, from Brazil.

  • PERFECT

  • Brilliant!

  • i love this! :)

  • hauntingly beautiful..the echo'n is a nice bonus on top of it. i have found you and now look forward to watching more..kudos and thanks

  • enchanting & lovely.

  • You play the banjo well, and the singing wasn't bad either.

But if you hadn't sung, many would have failed to identify the tune you were supposed to have been playing--notwithstanding the playing skill, it had no resemblance at all to "I Will Survive".

  • Sometimes it is desirable to not always do a copy of a song when you cover it. I like this interpretation.

  • It is better this way, I Will Survive the original is a terrible song, utterly crap. This is the best version ever. I actually like the song in this video.

  • haha wow thats excellent...best version ive ever heard!

  • Thank you for posting this it was a real treat. I liked the plinky plonky sound of your little banjo and the way you interpreted the song. I also liked the monochrome video. This is music as it should be, live and artful.

    Kind regards, Peter

  • married?

  • a youtube classic

  • I read the title and thought... you know, "man does not survive on Banjo Ukulele alone!"

  • Not what i expected but i have to say alot better than i expected! Great i love it!

  • nice :)

  • holy god, this is amazing. you have an amazing voice, and this is the best version of this song i have ever heard.

  • ...Right out of a CAFE scene from the movie...

    ..The Third Man...Orsen Wells..it fits...

..Berlin,Saigon,Paris,of all the cafes in the world...she walks in and plays this SONG...

    ...Beautifull,SAD,wonderfull,Lovely,etc.......

  • Good job..you have a mesmerizing voice!

  • I love this song! i cannot believe it's still popular after all these years. True Classic!

  • Good singin' -- get an accompanist and make a really good video. Or at least get a better uke.

  • so bizarre...lol love it! can u record it as an mp3 so i can use it on a soundtrack to one of my films? thx

  • What's the brand of this ukulele?

    Is it available online?

  • The banjo ukulele is a very under-appreciated instrument.

  • hey, nice video. And nice name, my car is called the same ;-)

  • other*

  • she is not the one playing the banjo

  • explain the over vids then... ¬.¬

  • Love it!!!

  • Damn. What a bad-ass.

  • This is really nice, you make the banjo uke sound like it came out of the Motorcycle Diaries soundtrack. Beautiful rendition.

  • I enjoy all of your videos. Thank you for posting them.

  • Superbe !!! Je ne m'en lasse pas !

  • You should cover - In a Gadda Da Vida. And muito obrigado for posting the lyrics to Trem das Onze.

  • Do you speak German?

  • This is a YouTube classic

  • that was cool. DO IT EVILER NEXT TIME.

  • Fantastic voice!

  • this is scary good. until the very end of course :D

  • That is seriously brilliant. I am predicting you will make it big in music.

  • The blackness, shading each moment in shadow, shows the cool, chilling calculation of love. The surface glowing with raptures striven for, seeks emotion's elegant esoteric glow; so we hide our minds from the bulk of love, the deadly, delicious death that is part of love: the chill beneath. The attractiveness of the singer, beautiful indeed, understates the depth of emotion, encapsulating the delusion and the invisible drawn out pain that is love.

Web entangle, we wait for winter's kiss.

  • wow that was deep...

  • If you mean by gay, cool, sophisticated, poetic, appreciating of a curlew's keening cry on a winter's steel gray estuary, then you're right I'm gay.

You live in the present, and always will, where there is beauty you will see nothing but the sterile commonplace of your own feral greed.

But time will pass and you will feel the cold chill of life's deadly embrace.

Your passing will mean nothing though, just atoms moving on, dullness replaced by nothing.

  • i wasnt serious... but im kinda glad you took me as such. lets keep that bleakness coming mr feelings.

  • lol, ok, sorry, probably drunk. Pretentious, me? Never.

  • Your comments are as beautiful as this song is sung.

I envy your grasp of the English language.

  • Why thank you Moalor262. I commented on the same young woman singing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" as well, you might like that?

But thanks, I'm glad you liked it.

  • Grandiosity, indeed.

  • lol

Well I'll take that to mean,

"grand in an imposing or impressive way."

    but you could mean,

"having an exaggerated belief in one's importance, sometimes reaching delusional proportions, and occurring as a common symptom of mental illnesses, as manic disorder."

who can tell, "fair is foul and foul is fair"

  • How can you be so ostentatious and then use a word like 'lol'? That's criminal.

And to copy the definition of grandiosity? Really? Necessary?

    I think not.

  • Well I copied both definitions to give balance, which was very fair of me I thought, and in all circumstance I always attempt to be fair to me.

If I'd interpreted the definitions I'd run the danger of inadvertently carrying over some subjective bias, and we wouldn't want that would we?

lol is good, short and succinct and to the point.

I finished the post with a quotation from Macbeth just to show that I'm really really precious.

  • Oh, I see! I think I get you now. Yes. YES! You're the man stunted downstairs and no monies to buy the flash car. So instead, you just act like you have a big cock in your trousers by knowingly having a big cock on your forehead.

I hate 'lol'. To laugh out loud for real, or, to write 'lol' and not actually have the pleasure of the sound or literal action of laughter? It's really no contest.

I'll finish on a quote too, to show how precious I am-

"An ass is still an ass, even in a beard."

  • lol, you're right you are precious, I can't understand how I missed it.

    I think you mean,

"A camel is still larger than a horse, even when it's starving"

  • No. I know what I meant to write. It was definitely the thing about ass beards.

  • I love you. Are you married? Or I ll just listen to your song again and again on a solitude for the rest of my life?

  • Fantastico...one my all time favorite Youtube films

  • so lovely!!!!!!!!!

  • Very dark sounding. Neato!

  • Cool lighting effect!

  • you have such an air of class about you, and a lovely voice.

  • perfeita sua voz, adorei

we can record something togheter..you know?

  • hey what chords are you using and what tuning?

  • you remind me of Audrey Hepburn

  • what is your uk tuned to (it sounds lower than the normal uk tuning) and what chords are you playing?

  • quelle putain de belle voix$

  • do you notice how its so dark in the background? NOT her arms..... mmm mm

  • Hahaha

  • wonderful!!! :)

  • this rocks

  • that's too funny people thinking it's not your hands!..lol! you're really awesome!! ;-D

  • beautiful

  • those are some serious man hands baby..nice voice though, even though ur not the 1 playing.

  • it touches me

    So sweet

    so sweet

  • Nice one !

    lovely chords

    brilliantly shot

    an pretty well sung too

i wanted to listen to it again.

  • Nearly fooled me.... there's someone standing behind you with arms reaching around you playing the uke.... i've seen that trick before. Almost looks real! (ok, just kidding)

  • I really like your voice, but that tempo drifted... and sloppy chords. But I'm just being nitpicky.

  • Wonderful voice but the lack of consistent tempo drove me nuts after awhile.
