Well of course he got a contract. If a talking frog, bear, pig, dog, and a lot of talking things cam into a big hollywood producer and asked for a contract you couldn't say no. Who cares if there bad actors, they can talk.
OMG! When Animal shifts and causes Floyd to become unbalanced. D-did I just hear Floyd say "Woah woah woah! Jesus!"?! O.o THUMBS UP! Muppets aren't just for kids. XD
@2:00-2:16 every time I see this moment, my heart fills up with joy for not only for the Muppets but for the cast and crew who put so much effort into making Mr. Henson's dream a reality. When I see Kermit looking in shock, I always think of that is how Mr. Henson reacted when his dreams came true. God bless you Mr. Henson and Mr. Hunt; you two are always with us and your friends who run the business and keeping the dream alive.
@TheZincu Actually not all of them have been. One or two of the people in this movie were not on The Muppet Show. I have a book that shows every guest star on The Muppet Show and a couple of people from the movie were not on the show. Orson Welles was not, for instance.
@MissMom4evr Uh actually I believe Orson Welles was on The Muppet Show at one point.
There was a sketch where Kermit and Orson were on stage, and Orson was trying to understand the basics of muppetry and Kermit explained to him that anyone could be a muppet and that Orson would himself be a muppet in the very next sketch, "I a muppet?!?" he exclaimed and sure enough in the next sketch which takes place in Dr Bunsen Honeydew's lab he's supposed to be a robot that ends up wrecking the Dr's lab.
@mimkyodar Really? Well thanks for the information, did he have a beard in this episode? I always thought it was Welles but I was a kid when I saw it so...
@mimkyodar Never mind that question, I was able to find that episode on YouTube thanks to your information, I really appreciate it, I haven't seen that episode since I was a kid.
@MissMom4evr Orson's basically just wearing a tuxedo or a suit and he's standing rigid and Dr Honeydew comes in and explains that he's created a remote control robot that will obey his every command. Orson starts walking around rigidly and talking in a halting robotic manner and then goes out of control and wrecks the Dr's laboratory. I've been hunting for that particular clip that I saw on TV but no luck yet.
@cha5 I did some checking on imdb and it says that Orson Welles had a TV special in 1979 called The Orson Welles Show. This would have been the same year The Muppet Movie was released and some of the Muppets did guest star in the special. The Muppet Show was not listed as one of Orson Welles' credits. Could this tv special be what you're thinking of?
@MissMom4evr Well maybe so, I just remember seeing this bit with Orson Welles and Kermit and Dr Bunsen Honeydew around the same time in my life I was really into The Muppet Show as a kid, it started out the doctor's usual introduction in his lab that you always saw on The Muppet Show "Hi ho, Dr Bunsen Honeydew here, today we are going to demonstrate etc" I don't think Beaker was in this sketch, I suppose it's possible this was taken directly from The Orson Welles Show,
@MissMom4evr Or maybe the Doctor didn't say "Hi ho" that was always Kermit's Sesame Street opening line, but he did start out with "Dr Bunsen Honeydew here, today etc"
Anyways maybe this was taken from The Orson Welles Show, it's just the staging and the set up of this sketch right down to the lab even, seemed like it was shot exactly like what you'd see on an episode of The Muppet Show, but maybe that's not the case.
"Prepare the standard Rich & Famous contract for Kermit the Frog & Company... Do you really mean that? A frog, a pig, a bear, and a bunch of other things just walk into my office and demand to be rich and famous? That doesn't make any sense. He doesn't even give me an audition or anything. Get me a jury to show me a 'standard rich & famous contract', and I'll go down on you." -_-
As a Kid it gave you encouragement that what you dare your dreams can come true if you put your heart into it....I even had the casette to this movie til it wore out.
"Miss Tracy... Prepare the standard 'Rich & Famous' contract for Kermit the Frog & Company. Wait, do you really mean that? A 3-ft. frog walks into my office, asks to be rich and famous, and I just HAND him a 'Rich & famous' contract? The talking frog is absurd enough, but I don't even ask him for an audition? Show me how any actor can suddenly become rich & famous just like that, and I'll go down on you." -_-
I'm NOT allergic to animals, but I'm actually afraid of them such as dogs, bees, mice and rats. I love cats, rabbits, hummingbirds and fish. I have seasonal allergies.
That's a good point. I guess maybe he was crying out of happiness. (I probably felt a little sad thinking he was sad since he was not jumping with joy like all his friends).
At 1:16, I thought it would have been best if the studio boss was Bernie the agent since Bernie was from Hollywood, and it felt like he was the one who put the ad in the newspaper for the audition for frogs. Plus, before he was chased away by Barney the alligator, he gave Kermit his business card like he was saying "if you change your mind about this audition, give me a call." If it was Bernie, Bernie would have shown more happiness giving Kermit the job for the show without the audition).
@tomasahernandez2009 Sorry to hear that re: Cloris Leachman's character who serves as a secretary for Lew Lord (Orson Welles' character). She really is allergic to animal hair. Is it the same as animal dander?
I was so disappointed by the new film. It'll never live up to the old ones :P

And last, but most CERTAINLY not least, the final celebrity cameo in our count, the great Orson Welles.
And that's... 18 celebrities that appeared in this movie, give-or-take. Muppets always seem to attract these kinds of people.
