It's this single scene here that I know Chidori and Sousuke belong together.

It's hopeful thinking that it'd be TessaxSousuke even if I am a huge. HUGE. fan of Tessa over Chidori. I'm very borderline about Chidori on personal taste and Tessa is leagues above her to me, but you can't change feelings characters have over eachother. Tessa grows such much in the series but never grows with Sousuke like Chidori does.

Hoping for season four Tessa gets into action. Hehe.

Setting the record straight, the light novels for Full metal panic were around 1998, during which these characters were named the their stories began to be told. Naruto's pilot chapter (the very first one there was) was in 1997, the manga was part of shonen jump's editions in 1999. Despite the fact these were similar times, The character is based on Shoji Gatoh's real-life friend, whose name is also Kaname Chidori. Sousuke is a fairly standard name in japan. Which is not Sasuke.

No one says how they feel, they just show mutual trust and affection, the only part that is sexual at all is the showing of Chidori's slight cleavage and even that (if you watched the series) is just to show that Souske has taken notice of Chidori as something more then a target to protect or a mission to complete.
