I love this video, have watched it I don't know how many times. I remember back in the late '60's, I think it was, being at Boston Garden when The Sheik took on, and lost to, Bruno Sammartino in a hard-fought cage match. Farouk's entrance was really impressive, as he strode to the ring, walking proud with his head held back so that he was almost looking almost at the ceiling, looking very sharp in his bright red fez and canary yellow suit. I'll never forget that match.
@VeryShortShorts the terms "real" & "fake" or "phony" are irrelevent. Dr. Gerald W. Morton, of the U of south carolina, i believe, said the following," you don't go to a performance of Shakespeare in the Park and call it fake." it's simple... pro wrestling is the most athletic, most physical, most violent form of theatre on earth. it used to be much better, but..................
This guy was absolutely over with the fans back in the days when most folks believed this stuff was real. The Shiek was probably the best heel in history
Eddie "The Pain" Creepman is what we called him..but he was the kookiest nutbar going and knew how to get wrestlers and fans alike in the mood for mayhem!..LOL..anyone remember when the Rougeaus, Jacques and Raymond absolutely obliterated Eddie before they left for the WWF?..wish you had that clip because no shit..it was actually disturbing to watch..I'm convinced to this day that they really did work the poor little bastard over and severely too..he was gone for 8 months after that..
@awtistick ya,man, i was 10 yrs old in 1985. from southern quebec, 30 min drive south of montreal. there r a few matches from mtl on ytube, rougeaus & garvins, martel & idol v abdullah,(face turn 4 abby)bravo v poisson, but thats not enuff. got a real sad story 4 yall. 1993, i'm 17. at a flea market with my parents. i'm walkin around, and after about 30 mins of walkin in circles, i see Eddie Creatchman at his own booth, sellin smoked sausage & 8x11 glossies of wrestlers. i made an old man happy.
banner74 you're correct ! lol ! Both Eddie "" The Brain "" Creatchman and the "" Grand Wizard "" Ernie Roth were Jewish. Eddie Creatchman from Montreal and Ernie Roth was born in N.Y. Ernie Roth was manager of the year in Pro Wrestling Illustrated in both 73-77 ! Ernie Roth died only at the age 54. Eddie Creatchman's contribution to Wrestling in Canada can never be disputed ! He was certainly the best promoter Montreal ever had ! God have both of their souls !
... and Eddie well entertained french-québécers on a TV show called : «La Lutte Grand Prix». In this show, he used to wear lot of golden rings, the mogen David and smoke cigars. He used to call french-canadians : Pea soup eaters... and we found lovable the colorful character.
They used to hit my hometown quite often so I saw some pretty awesome matches, Steve Strong vs. Jason in the cage, anything with Abdullah The Butcher, David Shultz etc... Ah the good ol' days...
@zyphoid666 hey, u must be from montreal or atlantic canada. steve strong came around when gino brito was runnin lutte inter. in the early 80s, frank valois was the promoter, & the stars were Dino Bravo, The Rougeau Family, Ricky Martel, Jean Ferre(Andre), Abdullah, Billy Robinson, Joe Le Duc, Mad Dog Vachon, Pat Patterson, & various other stars would pass through. it was a glorious time! i had 4 diff territories on tv every weekend t
What you see here is a demonstration of the lost art of being a pro wrestling manager by two of the greatest of all time,R.I.P Eddie Creatchman & Ernie "Grand Wizard/Abdullah Farouk" Roth.
...a lost art, gone with the territories era...of course Bobby Heenan and Jimmy Hart survived , but it wasn't the same thing in the glitzy cartoony showbiz-based WWF from the 80s...the wrestling platform changed...
I remember seeing this on TV when it originally aired. Terry Sullivan (the announcer/interviewer) was having a hard time keeping a straight face during this skit. Great stuff.

Wow! Terry Sullivan with the two best managers ever to grace the Detroit area. Those were the best days of wrestling in Detroit.

Eddie "The Brain" Creatchman was one of the best heel managers of all time. Too bad McMahon did not have the "brains" to use him in his shows.
