When i saw the word "evolution" this is exactly what i thought might happen, slightly dissapointed that we won't get a true dragon ball live film to be honest, i enjoyed watching the cartoons/anime so much, was dying for a real live version. Now its an action movie a bit like dragon ball, but oh well u never know actual film might turn out decent.

I think there is a difference between not being dead on point with the personality and completely changing it. if you took out the dragon balls and changed the names you would not even know this was dragon ball. Goku was awesome because he was confident, strong, never ran away from a fight, and never got educated-he could barely drive a car-and they couldn't have made him farther from that in this movie-it's a whole new character that they created, and they shouldn't put the name Goku on it.

Well, I vaguely remember DB briefly in 89 when it first aired, I was kid so I dont recall some details. It had been Americanized and Goku was named Zero. Years later DBZ came to TV 50, which was bought out by UPN. Also Fox in 96, I believe was the first. which aired it on saturday mornings, and week days 6:00 a.m along with Ronin Warriors. I was into then, still have some on vhs. I got up early just to watch it. The previous 80's version had been canceled after a couple of episodes.

But I didnt give up I kept telling myself it would get better...and then I saw the trailer,everything about it made me want to kill myself. Piccolo looks horrible, Bulma with guns, The kiss(wtf?),The prophecy???, Goku in High School(wtf...?), Goku not being ready, No Krillin(WTF?) They didn't even get Goku's outfit right! Nah the movie's been done for some time, they chose an april date because they thought it would sale better, the didn't to compete with DarkKnight, felt Hanna Montanna would be an easier challenge. At this point they're just trying to do damage control and repay that 100mil deficit. The whole story, the world, the charater personalities, the plot, the character physical traits are barley there, everything is changed. The point of having a movie about Dragonball, means it actually has to be Dragonball. The same rants keep being said, because they are the actual flaws.
Goku didn't have to be Japanese, but he still doesnt look like goku. Chatwin isn't anywhere near Goku's build, wrong hair color, wrong hair style, and his personality is way off.

I think there is a difference between not being dead on point with the personality and completely changing it. if you took out the dragon balls and changed the names you would not even know this was dragon ball. Goku was awesome because he was confident, strong, never ran away from a fight, and never got educated-he could barely drive a car-and they couldn't have made him farther from that in this movie-it's a whole new character that they created, and they shouldn't put the name Goku on it.

Ok I had to look at some old episodes and you are right. Goku was 12 when he met Bulma. BUT you are wrong about goku's race. the reason his eyes are so big is not to show he is whit. Well, I vaguely remember DB briefly in 89 when it first aired, I was kid so I dont recall some details. It had been Americanized and Goku was named Zero. Years later DBZ came to TV 50, which was bought out by UPN. Also Fox in 96, I believe was the first. which aired it on saturday mornings, and week days 6:00 a.m along with Ronin Warriors. I was into then, still have some on vhs. I got up early just to watch it. The previous 80's version had been canceled after a couple of episodes.

I know a sequel hasnt been made it has been confirmed to go in production the cast and crew have signed on to do 2 sequels and parts of the screen play have been released. This is all that was said about the sequel.... "In the beginning of Dragonball 2 Goku will be killed early in the movie" (this implies Raditz will be an early villain in the movie and we know how They defeat raditz??? Do you know how many scripts this movie originally had and was canceled several times. Having a script is never a close dealer. Fox is in dept, 100mil financed through borrowed loans, if this movie bombs, they will not risk another loss. This is politics and business they will sell it to recuperate lost expanses. You have to have money behind a project for it to proceed. Either way if it bombs, things will changed for the better.

Exactly my reaction. Its like the more info they release the more horrible the movie sounded. But I didnt give up I kept telling myself it would get better...and then I saw the trailer,everything about it made me want to kill myself. Piccolo looks horrible, Bulma with guns, The kiss(wtf?),The prophecy???, Goku in High School(wtf...?), Goku not being ready, No Krillin(WTF?) They didn't even get Goku's outfit right! The list goes on and on. This could be the biggest fail in the history of mankind.

Nah the movie's been done for some time, they chose an april date because they thought it would sale better, the didn't to compete with DarkKnight, felt Hanna Montanna would be an easier challenge. At this point they're just trying to do damage control and repay that 100mil deficit. You're not going to see anything too spectacular or like the original, because they're banking on the name to do all the selling.

Yeah the fighting looks like mortal combat the second movie, really fucked. It's bad, as bad as Bulma's hair. And I think Bulma is a gun crazed fighter like Launch. No, that ain't gonna work. Yamcha's like forty years old.
