  • More nonsense from the Sydney organizers....geez....did they get anything right at this Olympics??

  • Jesus Maria! Bela is lovely at 3:00!

  • "C'mon Bela, Break it down". LOL

  • for years the Romanians had routines with 10.00 start value without taking risks. I think that it was kind of genious but just not as spectacular, but they can't do that in the new code of points and that's one of the reasos why we haven't seen Romania in the gold medal position for a while, but they have a very strong team: Ana Porgras is very consistent and beautiful to watch, The great Catalina Ponor is back and Amelica Racea and Raluca Haidu are quite promising and Octavian Belu is back

  • what happened to morgan white?

  • This is my favourite Russian line-up ever with Khorkina, Produnova, Zamo and Lobaznyuk. This team competition is the most exciting I've ever seen

  • This is my favorite olympic games :)

  • @mrpatriot83 and the vault fiasco

  • mamàààààààà daca se repeta asta si la tokyo io personal le fac fetelor statuie aici in italia.

  • Romania is discusting at bars. Thye all suck so badly and are so over-scored, not to mention they are all the same. There should be rules against having 5 rountines that are all the same

  • This might sound like an odd question, but is it usual for leos to change between qualifications and finals? I notice the US went from solid red to red, white and blue.

  • @FredBloggs961 Qualifications are two days before the team final, so yes, it is usual.

  • @itstheapocalypse Thank you!!

  • wow i wanna see these again on london 2012 !!!

  • I don't want to be mean but, the Chinese ages were only questioned during Olympics were China would beat the US. In 04', China was beaten by the US and no one bothered them with it. They could easily have said some of the girls were underage in 2004 but it wouldn't have given them a medal so. Just my opinion sorry if to take it to offense.

  • This tiny country of Romania, Tim?

  • I hate the camera angle for the vaults.

  • @bananas1and2 So glad it's not just me that's annoyed by it.

  • Thank u for uploading this=)

  • Anyone know the music used in the fluff piece at the beginning?

  • @itstheapocalypse "robin hood- prince of thieves"

  • so glad shannon miller wasn't part of this usa team or terrible olympics she would have gone out on such a bad note

  • NBC FLUFF♥

  • I miss Morgan White!!! I really love her and I wanted her to compete.

Great start for team US. I love them, and I am Canadian!!! In Canada we don't have amazing artistic gymnasts like US, China, and Romania, but our trampoline gymnasts are great. Well, I guess in the 2004 olympics we had Kyle Shewfelt.

Also, has anyone noticed how when the men stick a landing they pumped fist, whereas women do a bouncy little present and then they walk off?

  • This team final is probably my favorite.... for the drama, passion, and just overall great gymnastics. But, it's so difficult to see arguably the best Russian women's team fall apart. It just kills me because if both the Russians and the Romanians hit all of their routines, the Russians would've still run away with the gold.

  • thank you so much for uploading this! :)x

  • Boboc's dismount was NOT a large step, but a small step. If there is large step, it's on Elise Ray vault in the AA-she steped back 3-4 times, now that's a large step.I hate how the NBC commentator makes american gymnasts sound so good, they didn't even medal at ALL.While the Romanians won team gold, but the NBC commentators make the SMALL step by Boboc in the UB sounds like she had fallen down to hell. It's the americans that fell to hell, justice had been served!!

  • I'm sure the US coaches knew better than anyone that the team wasn't in contention for the gold. So why sequester them at their own training facility away from the Olympic village? Let them have the full Olympic experience I'm sure they would have preferred.

  • You have to play by the rules; however, the U.S. team certainly didn't EARN a bronze medal that night. It would be a different story if the U.S. had nailed their routines, still been fourth place, and the Chinese had an underage athlete but the U.S. routines were lackluster for the most part. It's really unfortunate for the Chinese athletes who have absolutely no say in the matter.

  • @mar0289 But then again there were other teams that made more major mistakes than the US. But techniclly the US did, becuase before stripping China of their medal they went through the scores and nullified Dong Faxios(sp?) scores, and then looked to see if China still had the scores to win, and they did not.

But I do see were you mean, and I do feel bad b/c the Chinnese athletes probably didn't know they were doing anything wrong.

  • @PinkDancer96

The Chinese girl who was underage wasn't actually the governments fault. She was from rural China and her parents lied about her age so she could start gymnastics early in hopes that she'd be able to bring her family money.

  • well if you stay in the olympic village....?? no probs! oh dear the same door as everyone else..!?

  • I fell bad for the Chinese athletes who have to give back the bronze medals because it is not their fault some girls were underage.

  • @theurbansoul I feel really bad.... But the thing is that if there were no suspects for the 2008 team, they would never thought that Dong Fangxiao was underage.....

  • @cleicsioluek That's not true. The speculation was initiated by her own doing after she put down her real birthday on the workers sheet to work the Beijing Olympics as opposed to her listed FIG birthday.

  • @markedexclusive ooh ok....

  • @theurbansoul I do also feel bad for them becuase they probably didn't know that theyw ere doing anything wrong and now they are being punished for their governments mistake,

  • @theurbansoul I don't feel bad for them at all, the girls didn't have to lie when asked how old they were. They're as much to blame as the coaches/government are. They knew the rules and deserved to have their medals stripped.

  • @tmwalkerm I highly doubt someone actually came up to them and asked them. They just did what there government and coaches told them. You except a 14 year old to stand up against communist authorities?? Things work a bit differently in China, who knows what would have happened if they did! I would like you to be in that situation and then you can talk! Get your head out your rear and stop being so ignorant.

  • @theurbansoul Excuse me? I don't care how it works in China, they always think they're the exception to every rule, sorry but it doesn't work that way. And DO NOT call me ignorant for voicing an opinion, I'm just as entitled to it as you are, asshole.

  • @theurbansoul Fuck you and the horse you rode in on, I lived in China for 3 years teaching English, I know VERY well what their culture is like. since I LIVED it. So take your opinions and shove them up your ass.

  • @tmwalkerm Well I see we are not going to agree, are we? Lets just end this conversation now because I'm sick of all this swearing.

  • @theurbansoul Thats what happens when you call me ignorant and don't even know me - have a WONDERFUL evening.

  • @tmwalkerm

There's a line between being ignorant and making and opinion, and you crossed it.

'China thinks they're the exception to every rule.'

Explain please. The government didn't know the girl was underage here, it was her parents that lied, not the government. In 2008 NONE of the girls were underage.

Please, enlighten me with examples of how China thinks they are above the rules.

  • Like, who actually cares about the American gymnasts during 2000?

Yet, we get like a 20 minute segment on them. *eyeroll*

  • why couldn't the usa team go around and use the same door as everyone else from the start?! did you hear the woman say "he's making us go around", as in "how dare that non-american not know who we are and make us walk an extra 2 minutes like common people?! for god's sakes, we're american, let us in!"... that intro speaks volume!

  • Well they didn't know that....there vehicle wasn't accredited so they didn't know that they would have to go around...They said that....The US team didn't know that as their vehicle wasen't allowed into the area were the other vehicles were.

  • I never knew gymnastics was so dramatic.

  • lol ! if you want to see gymnastics, watch the BBC coverage. for the drama, you can always count on NBC. personnally, i don't prefer one or the other, i enjoy both for different reasons.

  • In the intro, what is the name of this music?

  • intro to Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

  • The judges were quite generous with the scores for Romania on the uneven bars. They were much more accurate in Athens.

  • True, the Romanians had very unattractive looking bars routines - and all the same!

If you watch carefully however, you'll see that almost all their routines started out of 10 (in the old system) and however unattractive it looked, they had some very good technique. Every girl, for example, kept her legs locked from beginning to end.

It was part of the Romanian genius back then that they always knew what it would take to win - how to get the maximum number of points with minimal risk.

  • @jamarsano Which is the same philosphy Bela used...You could really see this in 1990-1992
