Thanks for asking. First, to qualify for the job IMHO one must have some executive experience. Running a large state as governor would qualify in my book. Second, an abiding love for this country, and dedication towards maintaining the standards and mores of the USA. A belief that the US is a good place that does good things for her people and for the rest of the world.

Your "ideals" are in tact as are the ideals of most Americans. However, believing that America is a good place does not mean that it's government always does good Just has electing a former governor does not mean you have a person with executive skills or good judgment. GWB is a primary example.

It's my understanding that Clinton will not agree to anything less than a full seating of all delegates and there is no way the committee will agree to this. Therefore, Clinton will appeal the committee's ruling, and there will be another hearing weeks later. Clinton won't like that ruling either. She'll appeal yet again. And it will go to the convention. The Democrats will then have 8 or 9 weeks to repair party divisions and they will lose. I'd say it's fair to call that a nuclear option.

The Nuclear option has been mischaracterized by the media. Hillary's real nuclear option if she chose to go that way is to begin a process that wouldn't end until the convention in August. Basically if Clinton didn't like the results at the R&B committee she has the right to appeal to the Credentials committee in Denver. This would mean that the magic number would be in doubt until Aug and this keeps her alive.

The reason why this would be considered a nuclear option is that once it starts, there's nothing that can be done to stop a fight on the convention floor. That's a fight that Hillary would lose, but it would split the party and essentially hand McCain the election in the fall.

I'm not saying that this is the route that Clinton is planning to go, but it very clearly is an option available. What Greg and the media have described is simply where it SHOULD end, not where it could.

I actually think it's a huge victory for Obama that these proceedings are going to be public.
