@cdh4099 Probably not since you're only going to spray the spot 2 or 3 times at the most but I would encourage you to keep the dog distracted for a few minutes afterward just so it will have time to dry - it wont take long if you only use 2 or 3 short sprays
My dog has a ton of hot spots from allergys we switched his food and now how do we get rid of them? you are not supposed to trim or clip my dogs fur because he has very sun sensitive skin. he wont let you get close to them or he will bite you even with a mussle on. we took him to the vet and they gave him an antibiotic but it isnt helping what should i do?
@JustinBieber12Anna Make the sprays like I showed you in the videos and use them on your dog - that will help but they don't go away over night so it does take time
miniature poodle' thought had been bitten until another appeared on her skull top'didnt want to cut back but thankyou so much;is there a percentage strenghth of peroxide and how long do you keep spraying for?
my golden retriever has one about every week. poor girl has a nasty one now. the vet charges 100 bucks every time and says keep it dry gives a 30 buck small container of powder. how do you apply the anticeptic wash? after applying the other things should you pat it dry? thanks for the video. I'm headed to cvs right now.
@alanckaye I spray the solution directly on the hotspot (after I have clipped it down as much as possible). You want the area to be able to breathe otherwise it won't heal properly but you don't want to drown it with this treatment either.
3 or 4 squirts directly on the hotspot from the spray bottles is plenty several times a day. Just make sure the spray bottle is using the wide area spray nozzle not the single line spray because that would hurt too.
@alanckaye I forgot - if you're applying the hotspot mixture with the spray bottles (3 or 4 squirts at a time) just let the spot air dry - DO NOT dab it dry - the more you mess with the spot the worse you'll make it, itchy wise - so trim the area, clean it and then apply the mixture several times a day and try to help keep your dogs mind off messing with the area so that it'll have time to heal on its own
I own a Bichon and she get these hotspots ever so often. I would cut her hair, but everytime her hair grows back the hot spot comes back. Is there anyway to avoid the hotspots coming back? Thanks for this vid
use cortizone worked great from my dog, and put some little shoes for dogs so the wont scratch .

@MsWaxqueen Good luck - just remember humidity is the enemy - think drying agents

do you have to cut the hair with clippers or can you just use scissors to get it down to about alittle less then half an inch of hair?
dankalank19 10 months ago
@dankalank19 If your dog is calm you should be able to use scissors to clip the fur down to expose the hot spot area - just use your best judgement

Suggestion - next time you put this together - use measuring cups and clear containers so we can see portions easier.
Thanks !!
