It's PRB. You have to mt repeatedly when you do the rocket boost (the start boost), and you never have to lose speed. You will never lose speed (it's a bug btw)

I just explained that. It's a technique called "prb" (prolonged rocket boost). If you repeatedly MT quickly throughout the race so that you're always at MT speed, you won't slow down when you drive off-road.

Yes.  To prb, you have to MT fast enough that you're always at MT speed. Rob-bls has shorter MTs than poltergust, so you have to MT even faster to keep prb.

is acceleration the only factor in getting the amount of boost you get?... if so why do a lot of people use the BLS on figure 8 circuit... and why don't they use the Dry Bomber? (why does sascha use poltergust 4000?)

It's based on handling, not acceleration. People use BLS because it's the fastest kart. In terms of speed, BLS > poltergust > egg 1 > dry bomber. It doesn't matter if your boosts are very long if you're always at MT speed anyway, so you might as well use a faster kart. Sascha used poltergust only because it's very hard to prb 3 laps with BLS. If you can prb 3 laps with BLS, then BLS is the best kart.

Yes. Also, I forgot to mention in my last post, karts with more shrooms have shorter MTs. So MT length is based on both the handling stat and the items stat.

Weight only effects offroad speed if you're not prbing. He is prbing in this video, so weight has no effect at all.

By not turning much during each MT. Also, if you look carefully, you'll see that he turns back to the right between some of the MTs.

By using an AR code that mimics the ghost. So it's not actually recorded live, but by using this AR code you can make a vid that looks live for any ghost you have saved on your cartridge. For more info about this code, google for "Live Ghost TT Runs".
