  • this rep Sam Rohrer is a corporate stooge.. who does he think controls heath care now ?? how about the health care insurance companies ?? they decide if u can have the treatment or not .. u and ur doctor don't...what an idiot....the insurance industry is protecting their $300 billion profit cow plain and simple ..moron.. medicare is government run health care and it works a 100 times better than private insurance

  • @AscottW That's my protest sign.

  • You're a retired lawyer dantheleo, calling anyone who threatens your bank account a distorted liberal. You dont give a squat about the poor people in this country.

  • Hundreds, really? It looks more like dozens to me but that's the distorted liberal point of view I guess. By the postings in regards to this video liberals need to get themselves educated. I have never seen so many comments made in ignorance and misinformation.

  • Thank you for taking a stand. All the politicians having their pockets lined by insurance companies need to feel the pressure and be voted out if they choose bribery.

  • Only in America people are denied care and loose their homes. NOT in other democracies.. only in America. And the lies continue. We dont even feed the poor.. but the politicians live well. And the rich get richer as others die.

  • Funny...

    Where was CNN?

    Where was FOX?

    Where was MSNBC?

    Where is the media?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God we can still count on Local News to cover what ACTUAL Americans Want...

    SINGLE-PAYER NOW...

    It is the Christian cause.

  • just wondering who all these protesters voted for? if it wasnt dennis kucinich, cynthia mckinney, ralph naderor ron paul then what do they expect????

  • they certainly aren't ron paul voters. he would NEVER support universal healthcare.

  • I don't know how a rich american can sleep at nigh knowing that ten of thousands of poor americans die every years in america because they can't afford a need as basic as healthcare... I'm a middle class canadian and I like paying a bit more taxes knowing that my basic needs are assured, same as my poorer neighbors are ... Living in a country with no universal healthcare is CRAZY if you ask me...

  • I live in Washington, DC and support HR 676! Medicare for all.

  • My Republican Leaders have failed me as a voter and a supporter of capitalism.

I do not like the Democratic Bill, but my Republican Leaders have not shown me an alternative Bill that I could vote for.

I don't care which politicians reform our health system because reform is more important than doing nothing.

If my Leaders will not give me an alternative Bill that I can vote for, I admit that I have no choice but to support any Bill to save lives.

A Republican Bill is needed now!

  • around the world, many of the conservative party's in other countries support this type of health care. I believe it was the tories who defended the UK health plan because of FOX news' smear campaign. it is actually possible to want lower taxes and still believe in providing health care. It's just our politicians have been bought out by lobbyists.

  • Sam Rorher is owned by health biz ceo's. God have mercy on his greed, ignorance and blindness. Just who does he think he represents? GO OBAMA!! Of, for and by the people. Fire big insurance CEO's now. Let them go get a job like the rest of us. They get paid to see how many ways they can deny American's (paying good hard-earned $'s) medical claims while they live beyond the lap of luxury. Pharmaceuticals, too.

    SINGLE

    PAYER

    ALL

    THE

    WAY

    NOW!!!!!!!

  • Whoever thought up medical insurance as a profit-making business was genius; those who trusted and bought it were dupes; those who have no choice want single-payer, non-profit healthcare reform. Let the competition beware. If a Public Option is all we get out of this, rest assured big insurance will still be here to destroy it -- with our hard-earned dollars. Get rid of the slime and let's start taking care of our brothers and sisters, moms, dads and grannies and papas.

  • Health care is a human right not a get rich quick scheme!

  • Personally, I would prefer Single Payer but certainly having a Public Option in any case. I worked for Insurance Companies. I know they need to be reigned in, or else regulated like Utility Companies are now.

  • WHO report that ranks American Healthcare in 37th place is bullshit. look it up

  • I just don't get it....

    France is #1 in Healthcare.

And America "the Greatest COuntry on the Planet", is #37 for Healthcare?

HEY! Obama! Stop throwing America under the bus. STOP sleeping with the CEO's of Private Insurers!

Approve HR 676! "Single Payer Healthcare" - Everybody In. Nobody Out.

    No Premiums.

    No Co-pays.

    No Deductables.

    No Nonsense!

    HR 676! NOW!!

  • Forget that being number 37 in healthcare.

We are the ONLY nation on earth, that has a healthcare system, that profits on sick people, the only nation. How can anyone legally even allow this to happen. Any other country wanna essure there own people are always healthy and always get treated for anything for any illness without any cost. This is a disaster and its a shame, this has been going on for this long and anyone against it is a seflish prick.

HR 676 is the ONLY way!!!

  • I agree 110%! HR 676 IS the only way!

  • Why is it sooo hard to help people with healthcare? Dont americans care about other americans or just about themselfs. Whatever happen to " We The People"? Not " What about me?".

  • No Americans do not care, its a selfish dumb country, "we the people , in god we trust" we are good in pretending we are a caring nation. When I say americans do not care, I am talking about a certain group. Thats why I am proud to be a liberal, because I believe helping others by paying into one system, thus covering everyone,i believe we are in the same boat and we go up and down together.

I wish Kucinich would have been the President really!!!

    BROKEN PROMISES BY OBAMA

"The Government to negotiate drug prices"

obama.."We'll negotiate with the drug companies for the cheapest available price on drugs"

    LA Times

"Tauzin (Chief Pharmaceutical LOBBYIST) secured an agreement with OBAMA!

"In return for pledging $80 billion in cost savings over 10 years, the OBAMA administration has promised to BACK OFF FROM PRICE-SETTING on the Medicare Part D drug program as well as from importing cheaper drugs from Canada or Europe!"

  • CBS NEWS

    BROKEN PROMISES BY OBAMA

"LOWER PREMIUMS by $2,500 for a Family of Four" ????

obama "If you've got health insurance through your employer, you can keep your health insurance, keep your choice of doctor, keep your plan," obama said on 10-15-08 debate against McCain.

"The only thing we're going to try to do is lower costs so that those cost savings are passed onto you.

  • "LOWER PREMIUMS" (cont)

CBO.. "For most preventive services, expanded utilization leads to higher, not lower, medical spending overall.

The legislation from the Senate Finance Committee could result in higher premiums for customers.

The insurance industry is threatening that the $6 billion industry-wide fee & other taxes Sen. Baucus has proposed will be passed on to consumers.

    This means

It may be YEARS OR DECADES before any overall savings from obama's plans materialize.....if at all."

  • When I see this, I'm proud to be canadian... We already have what you want to have and we had it like 35+ years ago... Universal healthcare is good for people, bad for greedy insurance companies, make your choice now...

  • im glad you said that because for some reason there are some retarded canadians who go on you tube and comment how awful healthcare is over there....how would you respond to them?

  • And there are some that say they love their healthcare. How would you respond to them?

  • im asking an honest question to someone so i dont see how it concerns you unless you have an opinion of your own then maybe well have a conversation

  • I'm asking an honest question as well, and of course, I do have an opinion of my own. How do you respond to the Canadians who think their healthcare is just fine, and even buy supplemental insurance when they travel to the United States because they are afraid they'll have an accident in the US and am afraid of that happening?

If you don't have an opinion, that is cool and I understand. I just got the distinct impression you had an opinion.

  • oh ok i didnt read you right...honestly all i know is that a majority of canadians have no problem whatsoever with their healthcare but for some reason i alsways see more haters commenting about how much they hate then the ones who like it. its leading me to believe that the hater are actually posing as canadians just to get their own ( i personally think ignorant) point across know what i meah? thats why i had to ask

  • Ah, I see. I think Canada's system is probably fine, but like anywhere, you'll have people who disagree. And of course, the "other side" will always bring those people out and make a big issue out of it just to try to prove their point.

  • @amp1616 : I would tell them that there's a difference between a good system and a perfect system... The medias, everywhere (worldwide), feed on bad news, so if the canadian system is very effective 95% of the time, the medias will brainwash people on the 5% bad cases because drama sells newspapers and news reports... I love my canadian health care because it's efficient, simple and I will never go bankrupt for a health issue, ever... American people, never hesitate to have one like us, ever...

  • LOL 69 news

  • 69... Sexy.

  • i know that democrats have to be pushed to do the right thing, but do republicans ever have the people's interests in mind... or do they just support corporations no matter what?

  • "Government control of healthcare," I think the rubberband behind my eyes broke, rolling my eyes!

  • Single Payer Now. This is the ticket to fix this country and make jobs happen and save lives. We can't be fooled. Single Payer Now.!!!!

Single Payer Now, The only plan worth fighting for.

  • people are as mad as fish and aren't going to get hooked anymore.

  • You and people like you are the same assholes who are anti abortion but when it comes to "live people" who die everday due to no healthcare and then show your true colors of what epic hypocrits you all are.

  • here we go again with the race card .how's this,it take's a nigger to use the old burnt out race card to get what they want and now wetbacks.why don't you stop running your mouth to people on youtube and get a life.if your going to do something badass plan a time and place and get it on film and post it on here. you wont because most people on here just get off trying to be a badass and as dum as a rock so they start throwing punches like you cant even spell, get a fucking life you cock sucker.

    :)

  • REPUGLICANS!!! Bwahaha I love it!!

Let's get real and speak in terms the "right" will understand:

This is not a MORAL issue...although it's easy to make that argument.

    It's FINANCIAL....

America spends 40 to 70% more than any other industrialized nation as a percentage of GDP on HEALTHCARE.

At the same time our businesses are strapped with the cost of premiums while other COMPETING countries are not!!

Glabally we r getting our asses kicked and this is a big reason why.

  • All of theses illegal wars being stopped will pay for SINGLE PAYER FOR ALL!

  • Healthcare is necessary for Life and Liberty - our Constitutional rights as Americans.

  • Comment removed

  • U.S.A. compared to "other" countries with Universal Health Care? Life expectancy Canada ... 81.23 France ... 80.98 Sweden ... 80.86 Germany ... 79.26 United Kingdom ... 79.01 United States ... 78.11 What's more important to you? Money or life? "They" haven't States sales tax. (Europe) P.S. Germany has 19%
  • 45% of the bankruptcy are due difficulties to pay health care bills.

I am willing to pay more taxing so everybody can have insurance.. I paid 12,000 on 2008 a couple of thousands wont hurt...

I suggest you to watch SICKO by Michael Moore, so you can see how good people in France and England live.

  • SINGLE PAYER!!!!!!!!!!

  • More fake outrage from the right.

  • typical southern mentality

  • the truth is called hate by those who hate the truth. healthcare wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for all the non-white trash that has been allowed to immigrate freely into this nation and leech off of it. do you know how many hospitals have had to close their doors because of the illegal spics that have invaded this nation??

  • the issue is about the insurance companies raising prices, idc if we get universal or not but a public option would be good because it would create competition, thus lowering prices for all americans, u still have to pay but the price will go down.

what does that have to do with illegals

    u dumb fuck

  • I'm from Texas as well not typical at all this moron needs to realise they (racist mental midgets) are out numbered in Texas we have more latino and blacks here especialy after katrina. I myself will vote democrat and do everything in my power to rally the folks here to take down the repukelican senator perry and governor. Guys like him are few and their numbers dwindle thank god.

  • Nothing like a moron like ranger there spewing hate when his happy ass aint even from here if you want us latinos to go back mofo remember its just a hop skip away but as a latina I will rally some of my latin friends to build u and people like u a boat to take you back to england. ooo I forgot they provide free health care 2 well I guess you screwed big guy. LOL now go suck a sack of dicks and fuck your sister or whatever u stupid fucks do.

  • Good health is the cause of overpopulation...Poor countries are only poor because the "rich" ones say that their life styles are wrong. Salaries are the downfall in all means of life...People do not go to college to persue what they have the talent for. Most Dr. now go to med school because they can made out like bandits.

  • The opposite is true. The countries that have the least are the ones that have the most children.

  • If that is the truth their dilapidated socialized health systems must work well to preserve the life of infants and prolong the life of the elderly or is it just simply nature? or all those sick dying children in poor underdeveloped countries I see on the news just a lie. Dr's without borders should stay home and do free charitable work here. Maybe that way there will be less poor illegal immigrants.

  • Opponents keep bringing up how bad it would be. If the government interfered in the doctor patient relationship. Insurance already does this. Health care reform is needed only at the financial level, not clinical. If the government plan is so bad it's because republicans (and democrats) want it that way and wrote it that way. Note : Elections are in 2010, and there are 3rd parties who do support single payer.

  • Green Party & Ralph Nader, 2010 & 2012

  • I can't find the comment I was going to reply to, but my reply to that comment was: If so many people are getting sick, maybe the problem isn't the health care, maybe the problem is what people eat, drink, and choose to do to their own bodies. Health care cannot be the answer to illness; preventive care is, and that means common sense -- eating well and no doing harm to one's self.

  • It also means accessibility to annual check ups without all the red tape of insurance companies.

  • Republican State Rep. Sam Rohrer of Berks County, PA you are an "out of touch" tool for corporate America. How much money have you taken from the insurance industry over the years?

  • channel 69? What, Fox didnt cover this?

    HA hA

  • 69 News lol

  • It's about time! We need more rallies for single-payer just so the crybaby repuglicans know that we are out here and this is what the majority want.

  • awesome.

  • Ask most doctors which would they prefer: Single Payer or the Status Quo? Almost every doctor would choose the latter.

  • Many doctors have said they would leave the USA if the single payer passes. I wonder what will happen then; will the USA recruit doctors and nurses from foreign countries? I am an open-minded person, but something tells me the American way of life is almost over. In the end, Americans who want this will end up realising the big mistake they made and will wish things were back to how they were. The grass is not greener on the other side. Been there, done that.

  • Where would those doctors go? After all, the US is the only industrialized nation that does not offer universal health care.

Even in the insurance companies would do fine in a post-privatized era. Example: I used to sell health insurance over the phone to my fellow Canadians. People still want extra coverage, which is fine by me as long as they're not getting raped by insurance CEO's.

  • Those Doctors will go to Somalia: the capital of Libertarianism of course! You see the free market prevails there and they can offer their services for cheaper and better without the regulations of the United States.

  • Seriously, there's a YouTuber called confederalsocialist who considers himself an anti-statist and he seriously makes the argument you joke about. According to him Somalia has been just fine without any functioning government.

  • I've actually heard these libertarian arguments before. I've even made my own IRC Bot that spouts random libertarian quotes.

"America has the best healthcare in the world!"

"The parts of the world that are still poor are suffering from too little capitalism."

It's like a pull string doll that has evil and stupid conservative arguments.

  • Here's a favorite from my IRC script (Actual Libertarian quote ahead.)

"Children who willingly participate in sexual acts have the right to make that decision as well, even if its distasteful to us personally. Some children will make poor choices just as some adults do in smoking and drinking to excess. When we outlaw child pornography, the prices paid for child performers rise, increasing the incentives for parents to use children against their will."

  • LOL.. and where would those doctors go? moronic fear mongering. save it for the teabaggers.

  • Someone has been watching too much Fox News. Ask actual doctors, not insurance companies or Glenn Beck. Just out of curiousity, have you ever lived in a country with single payer health care? I bet not.

  • Finally, the Americans are hopping on board. Just another thing that us brits can say "We told you so"

  • There is nothing delusional about this. European nations have been doing this for years without breaking a sweat. The only problem is that we have to get the profit motive out of Health Care. Insurance company and pharmaceutical profits are the only thing stopping us from joining the rest of the world. Peace.

  • amen

  • I have relatives in Europe, and while they have a good standard of living, you must remember that America is an entirely different country of different "values" and "ideals." Americans will not know what to do once they realise how much in taxes they must pay. Nothing comes without a price.

  • If they can copy some of our good ideas, what's wrong with copying some of theirs? Especially when they're proven to work.

  • I also have relatives in Europe: My godmother and godfather are French and they can't believe Americans could even consider Public, Universal Health Care to be something to fear. I think you underestimate the American people who, right now, favor a Public Option. I don't know anyone who thinks it's going to be "free": What i do know is that there are many, including me, who would be willing to pay higher taxes IF that would translate in Single Payer Care for everyone.

  • I understand the concern you express; what I am interested in seeing unfold is how Americans will cope with less money in their pockets to spend on luxuries they have been accustomed to. My European relatives are a little less concerned with their image and keeping up with the neighbours, but for America, this will mean a major change of life; already, with high unemployment, people are actually depressed from lack of shopping time. Well, we will see what happens I guess in due time.

  • I totally get what you're saying. I think that this economic crisis has been long coming. More of us will have to deal with less. We have rigged the system to reward a tiny percentage of wealthy elites while promoting a value system based on mass consumerism. I think the American experiment will survive if more of us see through this illusion and build a society that is geared a little more towards the common good instead of individual consumerism. If not, we won't survive this. Peace.

  • Iloveterriers I already pay 650 for my health care. Paying more taxes would not hurt me it can't be 650 a month like I pay now for my health care, and next year it will be 850 I will be older. Can taxes be more than that!!!!!!!!

  • agreed; let's get real. 20,000 people die each year because of lack of health care (more than 3 9-11 every year). the majority of the people who lose their homes are caused by private health care costs. If Obama had passed universal health care instead of the bailout, we'd be a lot closer to being out of the crisis. Get informed and real.

  • we can't afford NOT to

  • cool
