@Yotes4Life Right, well, considering: my experiences with DMT, deaths in my immediate family, and accounts of those revived critiqued by Buddhist masters, I'm gonna go ahead & say YES. It WILL be much crazier. More than we can imagine right now. Don't be naive.
@19Aries91 You're still acting as if humans KNOW. I'm not denying that anyone has ideas. We know NOTHING for sure. If you really want to point fingers, you're the one being naive. No matter how much you want to believe you know what the "afterlife" consists of, if it even exists, you don't. It's that simple. The DMT experiences you're referring to only show us what happens immediately before and after death. But even just days after death when the body is decomposing and full of maggots? Huh...
@Yotes4Life Well, not so quick now. We DO know a key few things for sure. Everything is fleeting & impermanent. Nothing exists or arises without something preceding it. And who we may initially think to be ourselves, the person we see in the mirror, is ultimately illusory. There is no unchanging self. Only a stream of consciousness. When we die. It's only the vessel carrying the consciousness that dies. That luminosity carries on to another vessel unless it is unattached.
@19Aries91 Wow, that's pretty cool. I had never thought about consciousness that way. I've always considered our "mind" to be a result of the chemicals in the brain. I like your perspective on it too. I'll have to check that out, thanks for the recommendation.
@Yotes4Life Plus, take into account the thousands of children who, at an age & in a setting that could not have possibly suggested anything to them, recall the lives of someone completely different with uncanny detail. You should read up on Ian Stevenson's reincarnation research. Mostly studying how children's inexplicable scars match the fatal wounds of those deceased shortly before the children's deaths. I think you'll find it very interesting.
I can't put into words how much I loved this movie, but I'll try.
The film is ridiculous, repetitive, overlong, excessive and full of unintentional humor. Sounds sh*t, right? Wrong! The very idea behind the movie, and the way that idea is realised onscreen, is so original and wonderful that I can't help but adore it. Utterly unique.
And as others have said, the entire first-person death scene is unbearably intense and powerful. One of the most devastating screen deaths in the history of cinema.
this movie made me look forward to dying. most of us think that dying a a bad thing. i am starting to think its gonna be beautiful and am very looking forawrd to it :)
Obviously you guys were not as high as me when i first saw this movie. For the first 30 minutes i thought i was oscar, when he was shot, i died on the inside.
@snakegriffenn I'd like to make it known that there's no need to be high for this effect to happen. I was sober watching this movie and I was almost completely immersed
To much sex. First 100 minutes was good, the rest of it blew donkey dick, it was all sex and repetitive special effects that had nothing to do with the story.
actually the sex scenes are based on the Tibetan book of the Dead. It references the point where the soul is ready to be reborn and will see a lot of people having sex around it and must choose the parents. the special effects are even more intense because oscar's brain is finally beginning to shut down so things are starting to become disoriented and crazy
sucks that you didn't like the movie though. i loved it
I smoked ice and watched this. Had no idea what was what

I loved this movie, but I also couldn't get over the fact that this sort of cinematography wasn't being put to use to adapt Neuromancer.

Does anybody know what the music track is in this scene? it's not on the unofficial soundtrack...

@RashamZakuma
I'm afraid I don't. I assumed it was something by Thomas Bangalter.
Where'd you find the unofficial soundtrack?
terratrema 5 months ago
@RashamZakuma I, too, have wondered about this! Unfortunately, all my digging hasn't turned anything up...
