Hi i got one big question. This hex7 is beautiful but the normal ltd hex7 has o big two headed eagle on the body - why your is just black ? im asking because i like that finish more :D
That's is a pretty sweet guitar. I've always liked the V shape and I'm a big fan of seven string guitars. Plus ESP has always appealed to me. One day when I get enough money together, I'll get a custom guitar made by them similar to this. Awesome playing man, well done.
@deadnightshinobi Damn, but You should play in death metal band, or sth. Your previous band just did not let You show you skills (when you play stuff like G'n'R)! In my opinion best guitarists are those, who can play good and heavy music, but also can play very difficult stuff. I doubt Nergal can play Vivaldi's Summer (with all the respect to Adam) and Alexi Laiho can play it, and it means a lot! In my opinion your previous band was just a burden for You. Keep playing dude, ok?
@Tie4821 Funnily enough when I compose it doesn't even sound super-heavy (you can download my compositions from my last.fm page, it's in my channel info). I like listening to extreme stuff but playing it is another story. I need to work on my right hand technique more, oh well. Yesterday I saw Melechesh live though and it made me want to write some sick riffs \m/ Anyways thanks for watching and commenting!
I have a Jackson RR5 and am tempted to get the hex 7. What I'm after is a mainly metal guitar that can also play a bit of other stuff from time to time. Is it worth me getting a hex 7? Would it be much better than my RR5? Also is the action on this really low?
@EmperorKabir Umm well the RR5 is a six string right? I wanted to start playing/composing more on 7 strings and I wanted a V shape so that's why I got the HEX-7, plus LTD has never really let me down before. The HEX-7 has pretty good action (but different people prefer different setups so I'm sure you can adjust if you want). I have a Jackson DK2M as well and I love that guitar so honestly I think the main factor is whether you want to try your hand at a 7-string or not. Good luck!
@medude6652 Hey, I'd say it can sound pretty beast on its own, when I did this video I was nowhere near to maximum gain and I killed a lot of the bass because this guitar has a really deep sound. To be honest you can make probably any guitar sound beastly with the right amp/pickup/pedal combination...but yeah, this guitar is definitely more suited for metal than jazz =P
Well done sir. You make that signature guitar look good brother. thumbs up! Behemoth rocks. Best wishes Nergal, hope you can fight it and pull through.
@Jeudaos Thanks for watching and commenting...Also, I had no idea about Nergal, that's really terrible news...Thanks for bringing that to my attention too.
@deadnightshinobi yeah no problem. yeah it was very sad to hear. I've known about Behemoth for a while but I'd just started listening to them in the last 2-3 years. D:
also, is it hard to switch from a 6 string to a 7 string? right now im using a 6 string, and i have it tuned down to drop A. But it is kind of a pain to maintain, cause i gotta go get it intonated WAY too often. and one of my friends says to just switch over to a 7 string. But i really dont want to have to learn how to play the guitar all over again. So i was wondering if it is hard to switch from 6 strings to 7 strings.
@VonHendrixTV Ummm I'd say the biggest change in the seven string is learning new open chord shapes, or just any chords in general besides power chords =P It's relatively easy to get new scale and arpeggio patterns down. Also the fretboard won't feel as fast initially but eventually you'll get the hang of it. Just depends on how much you practice I guess? haha. If you choose to get one, good luck ^_^
@VonHendrixTV you should go to your local guitar shop and see if they have any and try one out. it's not a huge change. it sort of depends on the type of music your playing. if your playing mostly riff based songs and alot of rhythmic playing then it's a piece of cake but if you play more technically then its alittle harder because the neck is that much thicker and wider but even just chunking around on one in a shop i got fairly used to it.
@mudfan1010 Mmm....reasonably easy? haha. It doesn't have that little cutaway like the Alexi V but then again I haven't found myself reaching for that note too often. The body is basically the same as the standard ESP V (it fits in the same case) so if you can test drive one of those you'll have a good idea.
Also, sick guitar. Since Ive been big on Behemoth as of late, I figured I should invest in this for a 7 string after I buy a Agile (unless I can find one on ebay for the same price.)
Honestly, would you recommend this for Technical Death Metal? I know that ESP has never made a bad guitar in their entirity haha but still, is it worth the grand?
@Azria032 Hmmm well considering I don't/can't play technical death metal I wouldn't really be able to tell you haha. I mean, it handles and sounds well enough, so I'm sure you'd be shredding it up..but that's not to say that this is THE guitar for that genre. I've heard good things about the Agiles so...whatever you decide should be fine. =)
@deadnightshinobi Well, the more I play the more I realize that I'm more into the stuff like Quo Vadis and jazz like that, and I also heard good things about the Agiles but I also heard the occasional bad review. However, I havent heard of a bad ESP review out there, so It might be worth the couple hundred for a trusted brand. Iono, maybe I should look around for an ESP shop with it and test drive it.
@Azria032 Yeah for sure, if you can play some in a shop that goes a long way, especially if they have your amplifier in stock as well. I bought all mine online so kinda took a risk but so far it's all been good. haha. Quo Vadis is awesome, good stuff =)
Where are you from dude. First look - Japanese, but your English is totally awesome
and amazig that I think you can be also from US or UK. Totally awesome guitar.
And another thing that I'm Polish and I'm glad that you know Behemoth. I'm also their
fan. Do you know that Nergal ripped the Bible on the concert and he nearly went to prison. Try bands like Children Of Bodom (melodic death metal), Immortal, Enslaved, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir (Norwegian black metal) and try Vader they are also Polish
That's one metal guitar. Is the neck anything like an Ibanez, that is to say, thin and flat? The upper fret access looks a little bit hard too...how is it really? I can't tell without playing it.
@piebeforedawn Well there's a bit of bulk to the neck but I don't know whether that's just the width of the seven string or not. Upper fret access...pretty much the same as my other guitars, maybe a little harder to play sweep patterns down there but it all comes down to practicing to become accustomed to it, at least in my opinion.
@BeanersCanLikIt I'm not a huge fan of the SG shape so I'd probably say this guitar...but I'm a fan of ESP/LTD in general so I don't think you'd be going wrong with either. =)
@ctjoao Hahah none taken. My microphone quality really isn't that great (it's just the mic on the webcam), so it's possible that the guitar just sounds fuzzy because of that...I usually don't put the gain past 6 on the amp. Thanks for the advice and for watching and commenting!
@deadnightshinobi Congratulations for this sound test!! Really great!! I fancy this guitar a lot, but I have no idea what amp should I buy... Since yours has been discontinued and is nowhere to be found on the web, could you please recommend a similar sounding amp? Thanks in advance!! Keep up the good work!!
@metalheadstef8 Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. Ummm I mean the most important thing with the amp is what sounds good to you...and of course your budget. I think the Marshall MG series sounds pretty good with a little overdrive pedal like a tube screamer driving it, but it's not the loudest amp. I think Line 6 has a 40 W hybrid tube/modeling amp that they did in collaboration with Bogner which my cousin has, he says it's great and loud. Good luck deciding!
Hey deadnightshinobi if you were 2 choose between this 7 string guitar and the 7 string BC RICH KK Warlock witch 1 would you buy? By the way great playing!!!!!!!!
@CrGun Hey thanks for the comment! Umm I just looked at the specs for the BC Rich, it looks pretty sweet...and prices are comparable so honestly I don't really know. I'm partial to ESP guitars but I don't think you'd go wrong with either....let me know how it works out!
@CrGun if you like to fuck around with a floating bridge and you are a caring guitar player who chage string every month go for bc rich but i like simple string change ill go with the ltd
@deadnightshinobi I Love ESP's LTD Guitars. Because everybody where i live gots Jackson, Ibanes. So i wanted to get something No one gots, ESP LTD!!!! Oh Yeah!!!! lol
hail dude , i just got my Hex-7 yasterday and i just can't stop playing first i thought that it's a good axe but when i tried it , i found like the guitar i've been searching for for an ages hheheh . anyway cool playing bro and take care ov that beauty ;)
Hello! The seventh string is a low B, so the tuning would be (from low to high) - B E A D G B E (take a regular guitar and then add a low B string). Common alternate tunings are drop A (A E A D G B E), whole step down (A D G C F A D), half step down (A# D# G# C# F# A# D#)....Cheers.
Congratulations for your new guitar (and for that great testing!) It seems like you're going to amaze us with some next video ( I definitely support your idea of some Loomis stuff...yeah).
Fiiiiive! (And you were sick? And Did you just said "terrible execution"? I don't think that was bad but I do think that was sick he he... \m/
YO NaT finally got that seven-string ! Looks deadly! Btw what equipment are you playing all that through? And Maybe now you can play some john petrucci solos ^^
@itchyzitts Hey Joe!!!!!!! It's the same amp setup, Crate GTX 120 into a TS-9 (Tube screamer). No other effects. Although before I did this video I forgot that I had turned the bass controls to like zero because the guitar has a serious low end...Oh well. Maybe some Jeff Loomis stuff first before Petrucci...hahah.
@deadnightshinobi ya cause i love how it sounds, and ya i forgot jeff loomis played a 7string! I don't know if you have heard As i Am gutiar solo by petrucci but its epic.

CrGun 1 year ago
@CrGun Hey thanks for the comment! Umm I just looked at the specs for the BC Rich, it looks pretty sweet...and prices are comparable so honestly I don't really know. I'm partial to ESP guitars but I don't think you'd go wrong with either....let me know how it works out!
deadnightshinobi 1 year ago

SuperVilliany101 1 year ago
Good job, ur good plus i love the guitar :D
It may seems dumbs but, how do you tune a seven strings guitar? What's the standart? and what are the other commun way to tune it?
(sry for my english... im a french canadian so... lol)
Haimulos 1 year ago

@solosofsorrow Retails for about a grand, although day after Thanksgiving SamAsh had it for 10% off, so like 900? Thanks for watching.

YO NaT finally got that seven-string ! Looks deadly! Btw what equipment are you playing all that through? And Maybe now you can play some john petrucci solos ^^
itchyzitts 2 years ago
@itchyzitts Hey Joe!!!!!!! It's the same amp setup, Crate GTX 120 into a TS-9 (Tube screamer). No other effects. Although before I did this video I forgot that I had turned the bass controls to like zero because the guitar has a serious low end...Oh well. Maybe some Jeff Loomis stuff first before Petrucci...hahah.
deadnightshinobi 2 years ago
@deadnightshinobi ya cause i love how it sounds, and ya i forgot jeff loomis played a 7string! I don't know if you have heard As i Am gutiar solo by petrucci but its epic.

Beautiful guitar, would love to see a cover of something on that beast.
such a dreamy guitar.
SuperVilliany101 2 years ago
I figure a Behemoth song would probably be the most obvious thing to cover...but we'll see haha. I'm still getting used to it. Thanks for watching.
